This is going to be an interesting meet prep. I'm not going to hit my squat opener until just a few weeks before nationals. As long as the reloading process goes normally that is. But then again, we aren't actually formally peaking me for nationals. Anyways, squats from yesterday. 95/205 for fives.

I set a new 1RM on bench of 260 lbs. That is at one year of consistent training.7

My 1+ day on 5/3/1 for both squat and bench today. Plus since I get MLK day off, I spent a little extra time...did some singles after squat and some 10 rep paused bench with 135#. I also ran a couple of miles on the treadmill after the weights. Would have liked to have another rep or two on each top set, but I'll take it. I think I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that not every day is a great lifting day. Plus I'm just trying to hang on to my strength while cutting...so there's that part of it too.

I hit 185 last night for 20. Feeling pretty good.
I've cut my food a bit in preparation for my event this weekend- and I am DEFINITELY feeling it today- this is the most sore I've been of all the work I've done on this program- I can't wait to jump back up to over 2000 calories next week- I need the food in the worst way. Fortunately I only have one more lift on a restricted diet- so I hopefully won't die.4 -

Joker sets (after 235x10 AMRAP) 250x3, 265x3. RPE 11 but looked pretty good, especially for feeling cruddy. Really looking forward to some heavy singles next week!6 -

I feel ya. I'm just in a constant state of sore on my restricted diet. Nothing major but always at about a 2-4 on the pain scale. Only three more to get to 200!!!0 -
Not my "best" lifts, but my heaviest. The fun part was I never actually tried just two plates in training. I jumped from 220-235 that day, then added another 5 for my final attempt. I kept asking my friends if I could at least unrack 225 to see how it feels and they all said no. Treated myself to my first tattoo the next day, now I'm deloading hard and it feels good.
