Monday checkin: Easter weekend was a rough one, but I tracked on Saturday and tried to limit the candy on Sunday to only my favorites. That way each piece I ate was worth the splurge!
I'm looking for minor victories to get the ball rolling again so here is my NSV. When I finished up taking in my shirts I walked through the kitchen to turn off all the lights and all of the sudden I was starving and reaching into the cubbard before I realized it. I stopped myself and made the conscious decision to get into bed and tell all of you about my NSV instead of shoveling food into my mouth.

@campfirequeen1 thanks for asking about me! Things are going great. I have lost 41 pounds since surgery, 9 weeks, I still struggle with weightlifting can't make myself like it. The dog and me are walking 3 miles 4 days a week most weeks now. I almost feel guilty posting here some days. I have mini stalls about every 7 pounds. They last 5-7 days. I hate eating. Hate it! One extra bite and I'm in pain. On the plus side I am never hungry- never. Easter wasn't as hard as I thought. The mini Cadbury eggs, robins eggs and my favorites jelly beans weren't too hard to forgo. I indulged in a few lingering pieces of 70% dark chocolate. We didn't feast this year we went to the beach. Wife and boys surfed. 30 more pounds and I'm going to learn! Walked for an hour and a half with dog and wife in tow though. A picnic of sandwiches (lunch meal and cheese for me), deviled eggs and Parmesan crisps. So I hit my protein number. I am off diabetes meds! the last 20 pounds have made a huge change in my appearance and attitude. It's not as easy as it sounds but the weight does come right off. I still have a more than healthy fear of failure but my support is phenomenal. I am blessed with a wife who supported my decision from the moment I made it. The program too. I meet monthly with a support group. I would recommend them to anyone but would counsel them to spend 6-9 months making sure you were ready. There is no going back. Some things change forever.6

Tuesday Goals ... I made some mini goals on another thread I participate in and thought I'd include them on this thread as well (it's my 'home' thread ... being the first one I ever posted to back in 2014 under my former profile name)
Mini Goal is to continue getting abed before midnight PLUS get in an activity session BEFORE logging on to MFP on my desktop computer on 5 days.
Well, I've racked up 4 nights in the past 8 days of getting to bed by midnight ... but I've yet to get physical before hitting this darn PC desk chair! ... Still, I have 6 more attempts available to make it happen!
@pneschich ... thanks for posting, and thanks to @campfirequeen1 for prompting you to write. You do know, don't you, that WE CARE about you! And that your journey has been inspirational to many of us to get on the bandwagon to do something about getting our own weight down ... I'm so glad to hear you are off the diabetes drugs. When you get to a look you like, update your profile pix and give us a look-see!2 -

Back from Charleston. Gained 5 lbs. Struggling to get back on track. Charleston was great but my daughter and her husband focus on food. Seems as soon as we ate breakfast, they were ready for lunch and then dinner. I finally opted out for dinner after a huge buffet dinner Easter Sunday. As much as I love traveling with them, I don't think I am strong enough to do this again. It's too hard to get started again2

Welcome back @KATRENAJ ... you and I BOTH are glad the indulgences and huge meals of Easter Sunday are done! I didn't go away to visit my son's family this year but still managed to gain that much myself!. There's a new challenge starting at the end of this week ... people are already signing on with their 'chart'. I cannot decide if I should jump into the new challenge or give myself a week or two off to practice maintenance ... been tossing back and forth on it.0

Hi there ladies and gents. If any of you are still here from a couple of years ago, I'm back! Brief update...18 months ago stress hit pretty hard and i lost 8kg in about 3 weeks. Kept losing and got down to 94kg. Was ecstatic! I kept it off for almost a year and then changed a medication and have put almost all of it back on. I'm back up to 108kg. Have been to the doc and have changed meds again. Now for the hard yards lol.1

Hi Naomi (@NaomiFilcock) I remember you! (My moniker was NK1112)... Hows life in the land down under? Always wated to visit Australia but never have except in books and on film. Are you gonna join the weight reporting challenge that starts next week? I'm not sure if anyone has named it, but I think of it as "Independence Challenge" cause it ends on Canada Day and the US's 4th of July celebration of Independence is right there too!
