Summer Goal: Get my marathon pace below 9 minutes.
Official Marathon PR: 4:11:28
Next Races (more as I find them):
08/05/2017 - Cranberry Cup 5k.
08/05/2017 - Howl at the Moon night race 5k
10/14/17 - Stop, Drop, and Run - Fireman style obstacle course - 5km
05/06/18 - Pittsburgh Marathon - aiming for sub four hours.
Nothing fancy - just 7 hot and humid miles. Tried not to die, succeeded. Barely.
Your races all have such fun sounding names!
Oh forgot to add the new 15k!
08/12/2017 - Friends of the Riverfront Trail Run - 15k1 -
I am not sure how you all do it when it is so very hot and humid out. It was already near 80 this morning with about 85% humidity and I just couldn't do it... I also got distracted by wedding planning tasks from my daughter but that just became an excuse. Now it is over 90 with a feels like of 96 so this afternoon I will run first on the dreadmill at the gym before doing my strength training.4

if the elevation chart is at all accurate, it's less than 200 feet, that's not bad1 -

So I am going running after work. (Just reminding myself) was it convincing?
I work with about 13 people people, most of them rotate so I haven't worked with everyone in the last week. I have 7 confirmed (myself included) that had this stomach virus. Hahaha! Purell is my best friend.
I'm whiny. Wine-y? I wish it didn't give me a headache or I would be. Surgery side is unhappy today. I'll still get out for some exercise. I will. Even though there is Halo at home. I will.
DH made a comment about my calves. So what they're large right? I'd like to do some squats or leg press to add muscle to my quads, but that's supposed to be off limits. I could do it anyway? Ok... See him in a week, maybe I'll ask first.
How's your calf/thigh size? Mine is about 4 cm smaller than my thigh.0 -

NO kidding! Even though I ran late last night, it was still 86 degrees, and super humid. I didn't bring water with me, and could have killed for a drink of water.
I think that I am going to incorporate the dreadmill myself this August, esp. when I am running low on time. Even if it is only a mile or two, it is better than nothing.

I almost forgot - I got new shoes!!!!
Going to be a couple of weeks before I can get out and use them sadly.

Great news! Congratulations! That's a perfect date for a first....should have nice cool weather during your run.1 -
@KatieJane83 That sounds like a real bad*kitten* training run for sure!
I saw the new roadID bands. Just when I finally ordered myself some, with lots on single-colored bands... I got a neon yellow ankle band, that'll have to be fancy enough for now.
@girlinahat Sorry to hear about your car! I'm glad you weren't hurt in the crash.
@7lenny7 I'm really jealous reading about your weather Too bad you didn't get a good photo of the mink. I never manage to capture wild animals... I saw a marten yesterday while cycling and a fox today while running, but both were gone before I even had the camera app running.
@PastorVincent I think that elevation map grossly exagerates the climb. That's what, a climb from 700ft to 867ft, from 1.6mi to 2.22mi? If you convert it to meters, it turns out it's only about 50m of climbing over 580m. That's not even a 9% slope, for a short part of the race. They just make it look dramatic by chosing the axis ranges as they do.
@amymoreorless Wow, a full marathon? Awesome! Will it be your first?
@Elise4270 Please tell me you are talking about radius, or measured in inches? I just checked, my thigh circumference at the largest is nearly 20cm larger than my calves. I'm down to my goal weight, ran more than a thousand km so far this year (and cycled 1600km more), do body-weight exercises as strength training twice per week, and they are still fat. I know I'll never ever be able to wear skinny jeans. I hate buying any kind of jeans at all because either they I can't pull them up over my thighs or *kitten*, and if I do, they are way too wide at the waist.
... sorry for the rant, but you asked
