Michele ... with the kettle bell exercises that Mary has shared, your feet are planted slightly wider than your shoulders and the kettle bell is being lifted/squatted and swung between that space. Those who prefer no shoes contend that a person is less likely to put unnecessary strain on certain muscle groups when wearing no shoes. Most athletic shoes (think cushioned running shoes) have a built up heel base that put the back out of natural alignment for squatting and swinging purposes.
Fat-free Instant Pot Yogurt... I am not impressed. If I had started with fat-free, I probably would think it's great. But I started with the whole milk yogurt process and there's just no comparison. I'll eat this batch of yogurt and then go back to full-fat and just watch what I add in. For a 3 ounce serving, you only save about 21 calories by going fat-free and that's not worth the loss in satisfaction factor in my opinion.
Missing members ... do you all remember the poster from Tasmania (I think) that was a body builder? I can't remember her name. She left after learning her daughter had breast cancer and she would be needed to help her. I've been thinking about her and Mollywhippet and Miriamwithcats ... hoping they're all doing well.

Beth I'm with you on the whole milk yogurt--too tasty to trade in. I just eat slightly less of it, it fills me up quickly and just tastes sooooo good. Love it plain or with almond slices for texture.
With DD home I am a little off my schedule but I squeezed in gym time, the snow is heading our way too! Again!!

On Yogurt I buy the Light and Fit Greek 80 calorie yogurt. They have flavors like strawberry cheesecake and keylime. YUM!
On eating the same thing every day This does work good but please take a multi-vitamin as there is no way you will get all the different nutrients you need from eating the same thing every day. Research your needs and what your are getting with what you are eating to be sure you are getting everything you need to be healthy.

Exercised 3.18 hours last week averaging 27.29 minutes a day. (goal is 30 min a day 7/7)
Veggies averaged 3.43 a day (goal is 4 every day)
Fruit 2.43 (goal is 3 every day)

Averages steps walked a day: 7055.7 (met goal of 7,000 a day)
Could have been better but started getting sick Saturday so that day went south very quickly. This past Sunday and Monday calories were way low but exercise and eating goals were no where near where they should be. Not hungry. Coughing and emptying tissue boxes DH and I both!

I always make whole milk yoghurt. I make one batch strained which I use like cottage cheese and one batch in a pot, which I use like cream/yoghurt on fruit. I don't add anything to it as I love tart tastes.
Most afternoons I have some of the strained yoghurt with half an avocado for a snack. Heaven! Lots of freshly ground pepper and some pink, Himalayan salt.

Michele - I think part of the issue was that we got Egg spayed just before we left Texas, and that and eating the other cat's adult cat food put weight on her fast. I think it will all even out once we get settled down somewhere. She's healthy as a horse, so I'm not too worried about her right now. At the moment, she looks like she swallowed a shotput. And feels like it when you pick her up!

Yes.
I eat pretty much the same thing 5 days a week between the time I start eating in the morning until dinner at about 7:30 or 8 pm. Dinner is different ... my husband makes that so I don't always know what it will be. And then my evening snacks are usually the same.
Weekends are different, but then I exercise a lot more on weekends to make up for it.

Ooh just had a square of lasagna I had cut up and saved in the freezer. So rich and yummy! Hard to zap in the microwave, but I cut it up in the end. Sadly my dinnerware, though microwave safe, is now getting hotter and hotter after being microwaved.
I came back from the library, and got another Debbie Macomber book, and a Susan Mallory book. Both are sappy, comfort food, feel good books, something I need at the hospital.
Heather, so can relate about how hospitals zap your energy! Its a perfect storm place to worry. My husband is laughing with all the stuff I'm taking. I am determined to make use of my time there. I shall use the car as home base to restock etcetera, but I don't plan on visiting the parking garage when its dark! So its a matter of going there in the mornings to swap out my "night bag" that is a blanket, pillow and nightly items (toothbrush, washcloth, hand lotion, and meds), and get my day stuff, tablet, puzzles, book, and breakfast. Check on husband, sit with him, walk around OHSU, go get lunch etc. These types of simple existence for a week! Hoping for a shower when he gets a room. I've got this!
I need to take care of me, so I can take care of husband.

Preschool
Preparatory (kindergarten)
Primary (year 1 to year 6 or 7)
Secondary or High School (year 6 or 7 to year 10)
College or Senior Secondary (years 11 and 12)
And then ...
Uni ... University
or
VET ... Vocational Education and Training
And just for interest's sake ... the school years do vary slightly between states, but ...
Term 1 (School Start) is around the end of January or beginning of February.
Then there's a break for a couple weeks in April, near Easter
Term 2 starts around the end of April.
Then there's a break for a couple weeks in July, winter break.
Term 3 starts somewhere around the middle of July.
Then there's a break for a couple weeks in early October, spring break.
Term 4 starts somewhere around the middle of October.
Term 4 ends somewhere within a week or 10 days before Christmas, and the kids are off until the end of January or beginning of February.
And my university courses go from around the middle or end of Feb to June (Semester 1) and then again from mid to the end of July to October (Semester 2). Plus there are a few spring and summer courses as well ... I took a summer course in January this year.
So ... if you're coming to visit Australia, the best time to come is about mid-Feb and into March ... when the kids are back in school!

Hello all:
beautiful day here today. I have DS's puppy here for a few days again while he is in Philadelphia for work. Got DH to PT and ophthalmologist today. I will be so glad when he can begin driving again. He asked me last week what the Dr. had to say after the manipulation. I told him I got the impression that he didn't think it was going to do a lot of good because he wouldn't follow through on exercises. That made DH mad so he is actually doing exercises although not as often as he should. He is out to show the Dr. that he is wrong. Yeah for me!
DD and I got lots of things done this weekend with the nice weather. We took a load of junk to the dump and got a lot of yardwork done with the nice weather. We almost have our riding arena back. We both have sore muscles from all the work.
Leslie was the lady from Tasmania that lifted weights. She was a body builder until cholesterol meds caused muscle wasting. I think she used screen name Lestan or something like that.
I also hope former members are doing well.

I often wonder about Miriamwithcats and Sylvia. They were good people.
Got 5 inches of snow last night but most of it is gone. And ven though he temperature is just a few degrees warmer, there isn't the breeze. So it is a little more tolerable. We went out once for me to get lab work done and then I went out later for bone density, AKA Dexa scan and mammogram done. So hopefully I am done with medical tests for awhile. I go tomorrow to get whatever he saw on my back removed.
Keeping food on schedule. My husband wants pretty much the same meals the same day of the week. I think most of you know we eat out. I have tried to cook. I'm just not a cook. I guess that is wh God had me in a jobs that paid well so now I can sat out. So Sunday is Hacienda for taco salad...shredded beef. Tuesday is Chilli at Texas Roadhouse, Wednesday is frozen pizza at home, he takes all the sausage off my half and puts in on his half, Thursday is Cracjer Barrell, I eat oatmeal and he eats a huge plate of chicken and dumplings. Friday is Fazolis for spaghetti, Saturday is Bob Evans and he eats this huge bacon cheeseburger with 3 packs of extra mayonnaise, I eat a grilled chicken salad. Sunday is Bandanas for pork barque. The world has to be this way. I think the only day we changed things was my birthday when we went to Olive Garden.
I have found a way to control Mozarts terrorizing of Melody. First of all I have to do something radical to get his attention like stomp my foot on the floor, put my hand down on the closed lap top, etc. Then I have to get eye to eye contact. He likes to hide behind Melody if he can. But if I can get him to look at me and get in an emphatic no, the issue is over and he leaves. So we are working on this. I just wish everything in the house wasn't covered in his hair.
I know I had more I was going to write but I can't remember it. I think that is a symptom of old age. I still want to know about that testicle throwing.

Carol, I tend to eat the same for breakfast for a few days then change to something else for a few days. I’ll do the same for lunch but for dinner I like to have different things.
Yvonne ( I think it was you), This is my first time working in brass so haven’t had that problem with people with acidity in there skin. I know that that can happen and I believe it would happen with other metals too.

DD had another first date tonight. Sounds like it went well.
My cousin’s wife’s cancer results were not good. She has it throughout her body and it’s incurable. They are doing chemo to hopefully slow it down and maybe keep it from spreading. I’m heart sick over the news. It’s so hard being so far away.
Bracing for another storm which should start around midnight. Snow for the rest of the week. Hopefully I’ll get a snow day out of it.
Yes, sometimes husbands watch project runway. The three of us watch it together. I think it is the artist in DH and DD that makes it enjoyable for them.
Spent the day with DD and we had a good time. I felt I needed to spend a little mom and daughter time with her. She was getting a little depressed and was lacking social interaction since she quit her job to focus on school. I think it did us both some good.
Ok time for bed and book.

The countdown to Jake's surgery is moving along. Late in the afternoon he got the phone calls from the scheduler and the nurse. He carried his phone around with him all day so he wouldn't miss the calls and was nervous until the calls finally came. Suitcases are packed except for the items that we'll use tonight. In the morning I'll drive the pets to be boarded and then we'll leave for Seattle. We'll go to the hospital first and figure out where to park and practice the route from the parking garage to the check in place for the surgery. We'll eat a meal at the hospital cafeteria so we don't have to go looking for a restaurant, then go check into the hotel.

I’m much like Terry in how I eat but I dont do breakfast. I have two or 3 standard go to lunches or leftovers for lunch. But it’s anything goes at dinner. My DH likes to cook, so I have been practicing being flexible on Saturday and Sunday dinners- so he knows if he makes us dinner one of those nights I will generally eat it.

The whole milk probably fills you up faster. I know that it doesn't take much of the full fat cheese to satisfy me
I was doing this dragonfly at ceramics. I was done with the painting, all I had to do was clear glaze the eyes so that the white would show up. This one lady took the clear glaze and was sitting at a table with it (it wasn't at the table where it ususally is). I know that they (the people who run the ceramics studio) are concerned about the clear glaze, some people use too much. Last year they actually ran out. Well..I thought I'd be nice and just use the glaze with the lady. I went to turn around and evidentally my arm brushed against the dragonfly. You can just imagine what happened. To say that I was sick is an understatement. Even Vince commented on all the hours I put into it. I had to shave down each and every raised area so that I could put "gems" on it. Oh well...the good news is that I can get another one. At least I won't have to deal with deciding on the colors....lol That's something I always have trouble with

Allie, when you sell your dad's house will that not get you the money you need to satisfy all debts? I remember there is a reverse mortgage but as far as I know the bank can't lend the entire amount of the house value, so there would have to be something left over.
Such a gorgeous day today! Well has been nice for a few days now, but I was working all weekend so couldn't really enjoy it. Today had my TRX class, then got together with some friends this afternoon. When I got home hubby and I washed our car, it was SO dirty, now it looks so pretty!! Then we went for a walk, it was just lovely!
That's it for me for tonite, gotta get some sleep. That time change has kinda kicked my butt!
