It must have iced in the night; now it is pouring rain and the only ice seems to be on the branches.
Michele, I have had a brass coffee table for over 40 years. First furniture we were given before marriage so it has become a good luck charm. It will never look new and it was vintage when we got it. Brasso works great but be prepared to go through many cleaning cloths and two elbows. And once you are done do not touch the finished product without gloves.
Hugs to all,
Betty

Katla wrote "Janetr: Olivia reminds me of Shirley Temple when she was making her movies as a child. What a cutie!!!"
That's funny you say that, my exact thought when I first saw it and several have mentioned that now. It was absolutely perfect timing on the picture. By the way the big surprise, from Daddy, was a small scooter with her favorite character on it. She tells every body that daddy is her best friend.

Hi everyone. I’m new here and so may be posting this in the wrong spot.
Having a rough start. I’ve been dieting my whole life. The most success I had was ideal protein but of course I put it all back. My husband had such great success with MFP so I thought I would try it. I’ve been logging for 9 days and gained .1 pounds. Argh.
Look forward to reading once in a while!11 -

Kylia - what kind of a mattress do you have that you can flip? I didn't think they made them anymore and I want one!Don't tell me it's older than the hills, lol. Tho they used to make things that lasted.

I'm down .4 lbs since 13th! I will take it! Today's another day of good eating planned. It's crazy how that calms me so. Doing it all out every morning really does keep me in control. So I've planned a familiar lunch, then scalloped potatoes and a piece of cube steak, cucumber salad, and for dessert coffee and a really hearty Kashi cookie.
My spinach is looking a bit sad, so I'm going to saute' it with my rice mixture and freeze it.
Today's exercise is some dancing in one of the empty rooms now labeled "exercise room". It has my husband's fitness ball in it, that's it! Something that I shall work on! I might make my own weights with jugs of sand, or something!
Another exercise I'm doing today is stair climbing. My home is my gym!
Take care everyone!
I think about you all throughout my day!

My Momma is in my Sun room.
Close up. It is off an album I had made. I don't know if the humidity will ruin this, but I will keep an eye on it.

Rebecca - You are a beautiful soul.
I made the most delicious lamb, spinach and pea curry for dinner. Not hot, hardly any chilli, but a touch of fenugreek.Had it with raita and snow peas. DH had rice as well.
Feeling a bit impatient to get all the ends tied up with my memoir. I don't suppose they work Sundays. But I haven't resorted to alcohol this week, which must be good. Before I would have definitely used it as an excuse to open a bottle.
Packed a couple more boxes of books to give away. We'll soon be down to ones that will just have to go to the dump. Tatty old paperbacks that are only fit for recycling.
Love you ladies. You keep me going.
I couldn't go out running for my bonus calories today as it was raining, so I did some linedance moves while I was watching Masterchef. Plus running round the room and some squats and star jumps. Then I did another 100 calories on the elliptical.
I was pleased that my sparkly sequinned T shirt came out of the wash ok. I've been putting off washing it. I turned it inside out and washed it at 30°. I think I will take it to York.

Happy Sunday for cold and wet Nebraska. I do think the snow and rain is done now just needs to warm up. I am working all weekend so inside and glad about that. Yesterday morning when DH brought me to work I could just stand on the ground and let the wind push me across the ice.
I have been reading and trying to keep up with everyone.
Machka--Great news about DH, I am keeping you both in my prayers. I understand the anxiety attacks and can understand that with everything happening you are having them. Remember to deep breath and One thing at a time.
Heather--I am looking forward to reading your lastest book. I am so happy it is working out for you in all ways. Your move sounds exciting and something to look forward to.
Janetr-- You could never post to many pictures of Oliva or anyone else and the grand babies. They are one of the Blessings of life.
Lisa--Glad you are getting settled into your new place. Nothing like home.
Rebecca--Your new place looks great and the memorial picture for your mom is special.
I am stilling working on getting back on track and tomorrow I go see the heart doctor. I am to go once a year and skipped last year and my regular doctor told me to get an appointment. So I did. After this I will have all my yearly exams done and be good for the year. I hope. I am still trying to a just to the new glasses.

Lanette- The mattress is from the original mattress factory. Only a year old. Love being able to flip! So heavy it takes two!
I understand organization leads to peace. My home and rental paperworks are all caught up! Yay! Laundry is done and put away. Bed is made. Time to head out to stores and last trip to rental until it is rented!
Rebecca- Lovely place and looks like you are settling in well. Love the old phone!!!!!
Heather UK- You are doing great!3 -
My brother is a wonderful artist. I will pass along your compliments to him. It will make his day.
Heather I used to feel flat and drained at the end of each semester as an undergraduate. I could barely enjoy my break. It was inconvenient and maddening. I would look forward to the semester ending, and then feel low as soon as final exams were over. I wonder if I will feel like that when I retire. I hope not.
NYKAREN Sounds like we have had similar experiences with our brothers. I'm sure if anyone had a movie of me cleaning his apartment, they would have thought I was the mentally ill one. One thing that happened - I found raw eggs in his bed. I discovered that his refrigerator was too cold and was freezing everything, including the eggs. I guess he took the eggs to bed with him to thaw them out. Oh God everything was worse than your worst imaginings. Ugh. He is currently fixated on me sending him clothes. I have sent him several pairs of pants and several shirts lately, but at 11:15 last night he left me a message telling me he needed more. And some shampoo. And he doesn't need any of those things.

@donnakelley2015 You posted in exactly the right place.

Welcome, donnakelley, I started on MFP at age 62 when I found this site to get a calorie count. Then I found this thread. It has helped me to have a community of women to support and encourage me. I log food and exercise so I am aware that what I eat and how I move will make a huge difference in how I feel. I lost the weight I wanted to lose and have kept it off. Come back every day and join the conversation.
Carol, I have lived in cold climates all my adult life and learned what to wear to be comfortable. Not everyone here wears as many clothes as I do. I am always miserable in warm weather because I like to be covered. I wear long sleeves and long pants year round.
roundbutsound, some of the women on this thread are talented writers and everything they say sounds fabulous. I don't share much but I read everything and learn a lot. Your exercise plan sounds great. I never have a rest day because my dogs never want to rest.

They have looked at the book and approved it and now I just have to proof read it again. They've just sent me an email at 22.15!! I did quickly look on my phone to see what I have to do and I can choose to have a hard copy sent to me, or I can get a digital image which is quicker. Decisions, decisions! And I wish they hadn't sent it to me so late at night! Now I'm all agitated.
DH is also agitated, though he doesn't know why. I slept last night, but he is having trouble. I am all fluttery now.
What a pair we are! ! !
Thanks for being there.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx11 -
Heather, Congrats on your books journey!!! And your journey as well, it's been a roller coaster of sorts. A ride you might have not wanted to be on sometimes, but most emotional paths aren't neat and tidy. The fact remains, you have come out of the experience stronger and with exceptional grace.
I appreciate your kind words. We are a special lot aren't we?!!
Hugs
Rebecca
