Good morning ladies! Happy Wednesday! I have replies to many bouncing around in my head, especially Penny's grateful challenge, but they will have to wait a bit. We ( the kiddos and I) are off on another field trip this morning! It is Farm Adventure week and we will be visiting our local Farmer's Market. I contacted some of the local farm families and they are bringing a couple of their farm animals for the kids to check out. We are off! Each child with some spending money to buy a special treat (fruits/vegetables/plants) at the market.
I will check back later today, but I will add that I am grateful that I am able to physically do the job that I do. ttfn xoxoxo KJ9 -

Today's walk was the longest one I've done in 2 months! And mostly with a heavy backpack. And not on flat terrain.
I had to walk to the university and back up (and I do mean up) to the road where I can catch a bus because I needed to pick up my graduation gown, sash and cap.
Graduation this weekend!

Morning ladies...just checked back into MFP after a hiatus and a big weight gain...turned 50 in February and my body hates me...had lost 55 lbs (211 to 155) 3 years ago and put 45 back on 8( Getting back into shape (by the grace of God) and need support. I homeschool our children and we are pretty active but I found my diet has been horrible and weight does not seem to come off nearly as easy as it did 3 years ago. Hope to make some supportive MFP friends and kick this weight off!7

Woot! You'll beat us into the new house after all, Heather! We're shooting for mid-October.Graduation this weekend! Machka in Oz
Machka, congratulations! After the year you've had, graduating has to feel nearly miraculous. Well done!
Kim, happy birthday!
MNewell - You've come to the right place for lots of support! Let us know what you'd like to be called, and help us get to know you with a little geography, general is fine...
To everyone who's new, I say this each month, but please note, I don't friend people on MFP, by and large. This thread is where I interact on MFP, and I'm happy with that. So, if you have already sent a friend request, it will be ignored. Please don't take it personally. I'm happy to interact here, but don't care for the flood of notifications, so don't "friend" people on the site.

And my little corner of the world is finally coming into focus after a tough couple of weeks. The prospect of a new fund development manager coming on to help is making me very happy, even with the necessary training that will ensue. Hope we like each other, as it requires a well-oiled partnership to make this work across 94,000 square miles of council. We'll know soon, as she's going on a four-hour drive with me across New Mexico to a meeting next Thursday. It's an interesting way to get to know someone... She'll ride back with someone else, and then we'll meet up again at a board meeting in the same town on the Saturday.
Weight's stalled again, but stalled at the 31 pounds lost mark, so it could be worse. Hope I can actually lose weight on this marathon trip - which just stretched out to a full two weeks instead of ten days, to attend a funding conference in Las Cruces. Maybe. Working on getting a scholarship to attend. We'll see what happens with that.
Now to get a couple of reports and a grant out the door today. Chugging along...
Love y'all!

Ryenday: I love your gratitudes. They are so positive and powerful. :flowerforyou:
Machka: At this point, it seems that your DH's survival is a miracle. I hope there are many more miracles for his future and yours. You are amazing and courageous. Happy upcoming graduation!!! I hope you'll share a photo of yourself in your graduation gown.
Michele: We have Medicare plus supplemental health insurance. It is worth every penny we spend on it. DH is NOT a cheap date, healthwise. :noway:
Karen: I love your simple pleasures. Thank you for sharing.
Heather: I am thrilled for you that things are finally "moving along" with your new home. I hope things continue to go well.
Lisa: It is great that your personal world is coming into focus. Good news!
Pip: I love your dogs!
Mel: Welcome!
We took our cars to VW yesterday for what was supposed to be one day. We still have the loaner today, and don't know for sure when we'll get our cars back. DH had a great visit with his MS doctor yesterday, and we also had a lucky meeting with our niece who works at the hospital where DH's doctor practices. It was a good day.

Yes, I really wrestled with whether or not I'd finish last semester's course. But I was so close, I just couldn't drop it. Plus my instructor was great.
I will be receiving a Graduate Diploma.
Here in Australia, you get your 4 or 5 year Bachelors (mine is in Education), then you can keep going in the area of your Bachelors, or go into a completely different area by getting a 4-course (1 semester) Graduate Certificate ... then a 4-course (1 semester) Graduate Diploma ... then an 8-course (2 semesters) Master's degree.
I opted to go into a different area (IT), so I graduated with my Grad Cert in Dec 2016, and will now be graduating with my Grad Dip.
Oh, I'm also taking the courses part time, so 2-3 course/year which takes a bit of time to get through.
And I've started the first of those 8 courses toward my Master's ... I'm 4 weeks into that now.
I thought about it a lot, and I'm still quite young (51) and will probably end up having to work for the next 20 years. So I might as well get the education to increase my potential of getting a decent job.
Meanwhile it is kinda exciting to have actually accomplished something! The notification came around asking if we were going to attend or not, and I thought, "You'd better believe I'll be there!!" I need to celebrate something!!

"Today I will spend 5 minutes on the piles of "stuff" in the office." Started to but it led me to the boxes in the garage and while some stuff got moved around, nothing got purged.
Today is T'ai Chi, Farmers' market, Canine Good Citizen Class and RFPD board meeting so I'll be lucky to meditate and get knee exercises in.
Rori, oww! How did you pull your muscles? Healing intentions your way.
Barbie "find it and fix it" describes Joe and me to a T. Several times a week I'll prep him a bowl of raw veggies and if he doesn't snack on them that day, he adds them to his omelet the next morning. Know you're missing dancing. hang in there.
Tracey in Edmonton beautiful pics.
Penny every time I step out our door, I take a deep breath and am truly grateful for the clean, forest scented air, peace and quiet where we live. Today, when I walked Tumble down to the cistern, was REALLY grateful to hear the creek flowing, not just trickling. Every morning I wake up grateful to be alive, to be married to Joe, living where we are, and thankful for my body as it is, my pets and everyone I have ever loved.
Rebecca "just regular donuts" Laughing so hard the tears are running down my face, So THAT's what happened to the organic veggies Joe buys!
pip your stats amaze and Yogi's chicken hat cracked me up!
Machka thanks for the timeline. Gentle virtual ((hugs)).
Karen in Va, beautifully said, but then you always do.
Allie what shocks! (((hugs)))
Heather Come, September! Come!
Machka I see your graduation gown as shining blinding angel white , wings in lieu of sash and crown of gold instead of cap VERY well done!
Kim ... haappppeeeee birrrthththththdaaayyyy toooo YOOOUUUUU!!!!
Lisa oh yeah, the only way to get to know someone better than on a road trip, is on a camping trip
KJ there was something I wanted to ask you but ... CRS hits again
Welcome Mel!
Ack! No time to meditate/exercise (surprise!) before showering and T'ai Chi. Maybe this afternoon... ;{
Lighter, lovelies!

Gratitude and Thankfulness - I have struggled for way too many years in my marriage, financially and for a time in my job. Over the last year I have worked hard at trying to get my life back on track and find some happiness. I started by reading a devotional each day and then incorporated the bible verses that went with the devotional. In January I impulsively bought a book called the Gratitude Diaries. I started in March keeping a Gratitude Journal.
I feel happiness and peace for the first time in at least 12 years this summer. It has taken a lot of soul searching, a lot of changes and a lot of talks with my husband to figure out where we were and what we were doing. It was worth all of the heartache and tears.
I am grateful for my Husband - his patience, kindness, attentiveness have made me a very happy woman. For the last 12 years I was waking up wondering if I was loved. For the last 6-8 months, I haven't wondered that at all and feel like all the struggle has been worth it.
I am grateful for my Children and Grandchildren - I am incredibly blessed to have happy and healthy daughters who make me proud every single day. The Grandchildren are just the best thing ever, they never fail to make me smile and laugh.
I am grateful for my health - It has allowed me to get stronger while I'm on this journey of weight loss and has allowed me to keep up with my Grandkids when I keep them regularly.
I am grateful for my job - I am not overly pleased with it but it is paying my bills and helping us out of the financial nightmare.
I am grateful for MFP and the social network it has created - The support and community on here has been a huge help in sticking to my goals and making me feel less alone on this journey to better health.
Penny - Thank you for the challenge to post what we are grateful for
Heather - So happy to hear that you have finally gotten some movement on the documents from the solicitors.
Machka - Congratulations on the graduation! I would be wearing that cap and gown too!
Kelly - Again, I am just in awe of you and how your run your dayhome.
Pip - Your dogs are gorgeous.
Katla - Great that your DH had a good Dr's visit.
