Hi Sisters, popping in for a second while drinking my smoothie and taking my supps, going out to feed horses and transplant tiger lillies in my garden next, Meanwhile here is some interesting research I found: Progesterone promotes bone building. Research found progesterone to be extraordinarily effective in reversing osteoporosis.(9, 10) There is evidence that progesterone may prevent and treat women’s osteoporosis. Progesterone stimulates osteoblasts and prevents bone loss in pre- and possibly perimenopausal women. Studies indicate that progesterone – likely working through bone formation pathways -plays an active role in maintaining women’s bone and in osteoporosis prevention.(11) Research shows that transdermal progesterone had bone-sparing effects.(12)

It is very worth reading IMO, love ya'all, Happy Anniversary Machka, <3 Wendy

Very interesting, but finding avDr who has this info would be a long search . Pat in Oh

Pat, there is no need to look for a doctor as you don't need a prescription to buy natural progesterone. It is available over the counter, or you can order it delivered to your door. Just make sure it is the real stuff and not the fake stuff that drug companies make called confusingly Progestins. Your body can't metabolise the fake stuff properly. If you research progesterone you will be amazed at all the benefits of using it. Try borrowing from your library either one of Dr. John Lee's books "What your Doctor may not tell you about Menopause" or "What your Doctor May Not Tell You about Breast Cancer." In a nutshell, if you don't want to get osteo, or other age-related breakdowns and you don't want to get cancer, use progesterone. <3 Wendy

Great Kim! It's good to have a time goal to focus your efforts. I think over here that kind of biker/dresser-upper is called "steam punk" , but that may not be accurate. The British love a costume! Not so much me. :o
My son loves it - he was into mediaeval sword fighting, but now he's into Airsoft, which involves dressing up in combat gear and running round shooting toy guns. As I brought him up a pacifist, it's a bit weird, but he assures me no one gets hurt and it is "just a game". :o:| The costumes seem to be the main attraction.
Losing 30 lbs is a great accomplishment. :D<3 I started MFP six years ago and I'm still counting every calorie! With my love of food and drink I know it would be a disaster if I didn't. The only thing I don't count is my afternoon bonus calories. I eat delicious, healthy food, but I know I would sneak extras in if I couldn't see the figures in black and white. However, I use "Quick Add" a lot as I don't bother with macros. I just tot up the calories in my head and put the number down, sometimes combining meals, like lunch and afternoon snack. It makes it all doable and my diet is so good anyway and I have no blood sugar etc problems. I am only interested in CICO.
Of course, I am eating nearly 1800 calories a day, so I have quite a few to play with!
Good luck on your renewed commitment. :D<3:D

It's "defrost the enormous freezer" day today. :#:/:s:| DH and I are doing it together this afternoon. It needs doing even if we don't move. If we do, then it needs defrosting as the buyer's are taking it over. Must also clean its twin, the fridge. I think it's a day for frozen chilli. :o Plus sweet potato for DH and roasted cauliflower for both of us.

Bank Holiday weekend here. Monday is a holiday for banks, family doctors, and offices, but services keep going and some shops. My solicitor is taking Friday to Monday off. :#:|:s Trains are always in a mess. I try never to go anywhere.

    Nice!

    Regarding Stats ...

Tasmania gets 12 per year, but they bunch them all up in the summer/autumn for the most part, and we have a long gap between mid-June and the end of October with nothing.

So I'm taking a day off in early September, during my Spring Break week, just to have a long weekend.

I'm the oddball again, I can't do the tumeric capsules. I have tried twice and both times my finger joints get so sore it hurts to bend my fingers. It could be coincidental, but since it happened twice several months apart, I'm done with them.

I've been on them for a couple weeks now, but the jury is still out. They were supposed to go a long way to get rid of the joint pain in my feet ... but if anything that's worse. Plus my hips have been really acting up in the last few days.

They may not be causing the pain, but they don't seem to be helping.

:)Kim, I am such an introvert that I would probably have declined the invitation to the wedding and saved myself a ton of money and preparation and anxiety. I assume that you are looking forward to spending time with your friend (the bride) and the others who will come to the wedding. That's a great way to get yourself back on track for your weight loss. You are very focused and resourceful.

    Hi Gals,

    Thinking of all!

So a bit of a story – I’ve been here for a good long while – I joined 2-14-14 and when I started I counted everything as best I could and lost, 30 lbs ! I was so happy and proud; I hit a plateau and decided to take a week or so break. Well, the break has lasted for over a year now – but I have stayed within 5 lbs of my 30 lbs off. But there has always been an additional 20lbs that need to come off – and maybe more; but the total of 50 has been the long-term goal.

I have a gal friend who is getting married – She’s about 55, it’s a second marriage for her and a 3rd for her guy. The wedding is in May 2019. They are big lovers of “dress up/pretend” – I’m not sure how else to explain it – She loves Renaissance fairs, costumes, they both ride motorcycles and have all the biker gear – and for the wedding which will be in a park overlooking the ocean – you are supposed to come in costume, as who you’ve dreamed of being - I am not big into fantasy, comics, super heros, wishing to be “someone else”. So I have been at a loss of what I would wear to this costume party wedding. The only thing I really want is that next 20lbs off – so that’s the plan! I am starting tomorrow (as it is the end of the day here) back to full fledged working of MFP – and saving to buy a brand new outfit for the wedding. It is going to be in a pretty but secluded area of the California Coast and in looking at places to stay, they have 3 day minimums and $170-$300 per night…This will be an expensive wedding to attend. But if I’m going I am going 20 lbs lighter! I will also be investigating camping options.

    Smiles

    Kim from N. California

Congrats on the 30lb loss. That was not easily earned I bet. It sounds like a great way to celebrate a wedding, I too though would be most comfortable in more weight loss as that is my dream. good luck to you.

Woo HOO! Despite having 12 oz of REAL Oktoberfest yesterday and eating the most humongous breakfast, managed to stay exactly the same weight, thanks to lots of walking with company. Was great to have 'em, and a bit of a relief to see 'em go.
Left ear has been aching since before company came. Hot compresses, ear oil haven't helped much. Advil lets me sleep but then the ache returns in the morning. This morning trying turmeric, cayenne, lemon zest, honey. It didn't taste so good til added a splash of apple cider vinegar. Went back and ground a pinch of black pepper thanks to you gals' reminders. Fingers Xd.

Rebecca I sure wish we were closer, would leave some big surprises at your doorstep. SIL brought us GIANT zucchini. Heather would call them vegetable marrows. They look like submarines to me. Can only make so many muffins and loaves of bread. Never tried putting balsamic dressing on steamed zucchini, will try, thanks! Otherwise the only way I really like it is deep fried (of course) dipped in horseradish sour cream sauce :(
Barbie likewise would leave a zucchini submarine at your door, if I could be sure it wouldn't trip you up.
KJ thanks for asking Rori about her DH's GF's condo... I was thinking "Boy that Rori is sure more broadminded than I'd ever want to be..." Hope this morning's turmeric concoction doesn't yellow my teeth any more than they are already ;)
Michele tell me about stringing popcorn? Christmas already?
Kim love LOVE "Love" your plan to attend your friend's wedding as the 20 lbs lighter gal you've dreamed of being. You can make this dream come true! Good luck with the camping options!
Sue in WA ER discharged because they don't know why DH's labs are off? Beth said it, there is something seriously wrong with our health care system.
Machka beautiful beach, awesome run, wonderful second ride for your hubs.
Carol ConVERYgratulations on your 49th anniversary. What a marvelous accomplishment!

    Lighter, lovelies!
