Hi Willow...used to exercise to them...they are great....the routines are easy and the nice thing is we know all the words. It didn't feel your were exercising but dancing. Enjoy...wish I could do those again (sigh). Mary from Ontario, Canada1 -

Yeah, I'm gonna find a battery for my Misfit (like a Fit Bit, but cheaper) again and start tracking my exercise.2 -

Sue in WA: SEATAC is not my favorite airport. We flew out of there one time. Luckily our travel savvy DDIL was with us and helped us through finding gates, & navigating inside the airport. Our son dropped all of us off. When we returned we had an uber driver take us back to their place. We left our car at their place and didn’t have to pay a long-term parking fee at SEATAC. I am not actually cmfortable with uber. Hopping into a strange car with a stranger doesn’t fit my idea of safe. :noway:
Michele: I’m sorry about your water class. I went to yoga yesterday and the teacher was at home, sick. I was disappointed because I enjoy yoga so much, but things happen. I rode an exercise bike for a while and came home. :ohwell:
TerriRichards: Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays we have. It brings people together to share a meal and the comradery of friends and family without the stress of gift giving. Last year we went to visit DSIL for Thanksgiving and had a lovely time. This Thanksgiving we are likely to be alone. :ohwell: I wonder if we can change that situation.
17: What knowledge are you grateful for? There are so many things to choose from. Knowing how to read is my choice for today. Reading expands my understanding and leads me to new knowledge and ideas. It connects me with other readers and writers, and friends here. It provides entertainment.

We had to remove the French doors, 😢. When we got the new washer, it was a bit deeper than the old one so we couldn’t close the door. Sooo got a cool curtain instead! How does it look!!

Well, today I decided to run my second Parkrun, but this time do the one along the promenade. I was a bit nervous, but gathered myself together and caught the bus to the starting point.
I pushed hard and beat my last time by nearly a minute. It's a flat course.
Very pleased. I was 3rd in my gender age group. I am at the top age end of the group, so I am happy. It's 65-69.
In the afternoon we walked over to a second hand shop to see if they had a hallstand. No. We did see a shelf with hooks, but we would like a period piece.
Wandered round lots of shops and I bought a rug to cover marks in my bathroom.
Plus food bits.
We went into a Polish shop and I bought smoked sausage to make sauerkraut stew. I thought of Michele when I saw a woman buying pierogis from the freezer. :laugh:
I also enquired in a gold selling shop and got a menu from a real charcoal grill Turkish restaurant that delivers.
I have cooked a ham hock with split dried peas for dinner. Hope it's good. I am about to open the Instant Pot.

Nope! If any item can be found that has a bicycle or an Airstream on it, Pip and Kirby are lining up to buy one. And if it can't be found, maybe they'll order it special.

Penny and Heather congrats on the running! I keep telling myself that I'm going to start running again...
Lisa, I really understand your wish to do up the resignation letter! You could do it up, just don't send it yet... That way you can spend the next little while tweaking anything that you feel needs tweaking. Congrats on the grant! That group is really going to miss you, that interim director may not think so, but she'll figure it out when you're no longer there!
I have been thinking about trying to get back into running, but it seems that every time I get on the treadmill, I just set it to hills and valleys and just walk it. I walk at a good pace, but still... I really liked the treadmills at the rec centre that I used to go to, they had an interval program, it was 1 min on flat, 2 min on a hill, 1 min flat again and then 1 min at a higher speed. It meant I didn't have to think, just do. I definitely need to shake up my exercise routine, something is not working properly. Although maybe what I really need to do is shake up my eating... sigh. A work in progress.

Margaret—Our first home had a radon issue. The rule in NC was that it had to be disclosed if they knew, but not remedied. We had a full, half-light basement, and my husband planned on spending a lot of time down there with his computers. To fix it, we hired a company that specialized in it. They drilled down through the foundation, and set up a pipe and fan to pull the radon from the basement, up through the house, and out the attic. The pipe was concealed in an upstairs closet, and there was a gauge to check to make sure the fan was working. It's all about ventilation.

I miss a few days and there’s 184 new posts! Wow!
I just finished cleaning out the greenhouse. We had a new panel installed on the roof so leaves and twigs blew in there not to mention rodents bringing acorns in to munch on. All that were left were the caps! There was a bunch of broken glass to pick up among the leaves so we had to be careful. I hosed down everything and then brought the ferns and other plants in. I’m looking forward to using it again this coming early spring. Yeah!
My daughter’s place in Panama City is a never ending story. The company that was supposed to tarp the roof did not do a very good job so now she had to have it re-tarred. Water has gotten in to some of the windows and down the walls in the master bedroom, so now drywall has to be replaced in there!
Last Christmas I got her the refrigerator and her blankidy-blank DH came in the house while she was gone (authorized by the way he’s not supposed to be there) and he kicked a big dent on the right door of her brand new refrigerator.
We waited until it was on sale last year and we got a real nice refrigerator for her; a Frigidaire side-by-side with the ice maker in the door just like she liked. She knows it was him because she could tell he was in the house because he leaves stuff laying around.
Originally she was going to pay me back for it but since the hurricane hit her house I told her don’t worry about it. I’m sick over it.
The fires in Paradise California is just so awful. I pray that all the people that are missing can be found and families can either be reunited or find some closure.
Knowledge: I’m grateful to have the knowledge and wisdom to appreciate what’s written in the Bible and the knowledge of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Heather – this location is really suiting you! You seem to be finding all the little spots that make it perfect for you. I know DH is not 100% on his health yet, but do you think he is settling in as well?
Margaret – your clear headedness about the house, and the willingness to set aside the emotion is a great role model for your family and for us.

Lucy – I find veggies – cucumber is especially low in calories, help with the hungries

Beth – at 5 feet and a smidge I have to thank you so much for being kind to all us shorties in the market who can not reach the top shelves!

November Gratitude’s
1. Smell = clean dog
2. Technology = smart phone
3. Color = sunrise
4. Food = herbal tea
5. Sound = silence, but heard the coyotes talking, and loved hearing them
6. Nature = the waves
7. Memories = I think one of my favorite memories, is a conglomerate of memories – in the summer when I was a kid – Dad and I would go out to the grass to “pull weeds” we would pull a few, but really we would look at the clouds and point out the things we saw, or make up stories about were the airplanes were going overhead, who was in them… We were not in a flight path but way way high you would see a plane occasionally. And sometimes a small plane those were even more fun to make up stories about.
8. Book – oh so many I love – but the harry potter series as my god-son and I got them together and read them and talked about them almost every night
9. Place – I think the Grand Canyon – I did a 10 day rafting trip down the river for my 50th birthday and it was a life changing event and helped me grow and believe in myself enough to face coming home and being laid off 10 days later.
10. Taste – sweet or salty – for me it is always sweet! But favorite taste is my mom’s marinara sauce with meatballs, it cooks all day, and I could smell it from the corner of our street and knew one of my favorite dinners was that night
11. Holiday – tough one, I have a love of Christmas but it is also the day I was beaten by my domestic abuser so it has mixed memories…
12. Texture – I love cashmere
13. Abilities – I’m very thankful for my abilities – I think the one that comes to mind right now is planning, I can look ahead and figure out how to plan out things that need to be done to make the most of the time and money available.
14. Sight- my god daughter smiling at me…
15. Season- I love them all – it’s winter so it is my favorite right now.
16. Body – I have great thick hair with very little “grey” and actually the “grey” is mostly white, my paternal grandma had beautiful white hair… here’s hoping
17. Knowledge - I think the knowledge that I am in charge of setting boundaries to keep me physically and mentally safe, and how to do it…. I don’t always remember to do it, but I do know how.

Good afternoon/evening! I DID sleep in this morning until 7:30am! (10 hours of sleep) Woke up made some coffee, puttered around on the computer, then got a viber chat with Lauren and Joaquin. His Abuela Maria is still visiting, they will be celebrating Thanksgiving today bc she goes home tomorrow evening. While I was talking to Joaquin, my youngest son (his Uncle Colin) walked through the room behind me and Joaquin lifted his arm up in the Wakanda Salute (from the movie Black Panther). He remembered this "action" and was able to connect it to Uncle Colin who he hasn't seen or talked to since April! Kid's brains are just amazing! I know he isn't any more clever or intelligent than any other child out there; but he is my only grandbaby and of course, my heart tells me otherwise. lol
Machka- Love the park and the bike ride trail! It makes me happy knowing you and your hubby are getting out more and that he is able to do more with you!
Pip- Love, love LOVE the curtain!
Penny and Heather- Woo-hoo on the running! It is my plan, when I get a bit of this weight off, to begin running again. In the meantime, I will keep walking and making smart food choices. I don't think my knees and ankles could handle the pounding right now.

Gratitude #17 Knowledge that I am grateful for: I am most grateful right now, for the knowledge of perspective. Not only my own perspective, but the knowledge that every single person's perspective is going to be different based on their lives, life choices, upbringing, status, race, location....it all plays into your own perspective. I am grateful that I know that when I meet or read about others because I think it gives me pause to think before I act/speak.
