Could you post some science to back up that claim please? What is in "all soda" that is slowly killing us and makes it like smoking? Thanks!
OK, you wanted it. There is countless scientific data to back things up that diet soda just sucks! At the end of the day there are also a countless "articles" that outline the opposite. It boils down to, do what you like! Who cares. <snip>
I'm sorry, you must have misunderstood or maybe I wasn't specific. I wasn't looking for a propaganda blog trying to sell books by fear mongering, I was asking for scientific research. Thanks though!
Really? I think your just trying to get people to argue with you. Or you always take the other side in an argument because it's fun or what you do. I also like how you actually cut off the pertinent part of what I typed earlier.
I'm not going to do the research for you. You can empower yourself by checking out what these accredited doctors/science people/etc say:
Dr. Bhavish Aubeelauck
Dr. Carrie Hoarty
Dr. Eric Berg
Dr. Josh Axe
Dr. Steven Gundry
Dr. Mike Varshavski
Dr. Jennifer Ashton
Dr. Gloria Gilbere
I can furnish you with a number of other names if you want. Before you say anything to the contrary, please provide accredited people who say the opposite or if you are accredited that's even better.
Evolution is one of the most successful theories in all of science, and essentially the most in biology. Yet there is a list of numerous PhDs who disagree with evolution:

I'd be more interested in their reasons against diet soda, particularly what scientific evidence they have about the matter.5 -

That escalated quickly, lol.1 -

I didn't say or imply that you do. In fact, I don't even think that you need to keep drinking it.
But you did say that you need to quit.
Since you called it a need, I assume there's something causing the necessity.7 -

It's amazing how much you managed to say with all those cookies in your mouth!
He's got diet soda to wash them down with!
No. Only milk with cookies.
People who willingly drink pop with cake or cookies are monsters.8 -

Good thing I don't drink pop. Only soda.
(But you're right. Milk - and not that low fat stuff either.)3 -

You say that as if Coca-Cola is the only big corp with questionable business practices.- Nestlé pulled water of a town that was experiencing a drought. On expired permits. The CEO also thinks "Access to water should not be a public right".
- Chiquita asked the Colombian military to stop his employees from going on strike and the workers ended up being shot.
- Even organic, non-GMO brands kick people out of their homes in 3rd world countries (mostly South America) so as to expand their harvesting areas due to demand.
And that's just a few examples I read about recently. If you are looking for ethical consumption in capitalism, you are gonna have a hard time, pal.

However, stopping using a product on ethical grounds about the companies methods is a perfectly reasonable decision.
I remember being part of the Nestles boycott years ago in response to their unethical promotion of infant formula in 3rd world countries.
That wasn't saying anything about the qualities or otherwise of the actual products though.
So if someone is against consuming products made by Coca Cola on ethical grounds, that is fair enough.
Separate issue to being against the product because it is poisonous toxins or other perceived quality of the product itself.7 -
Diet ginger ale has been known to give me a headache on the rare occasion
🤔 couldnt be the whiskey in it
:laugh:13 -
Every day I'll have at least one Diet Mountain Dew.3

Absolutely! And with good reason. What I was trying to say is making it look like Coca-Cola's the only big, bad company following questionable business practices feels like cherry-picking. That's all.2 -

Obviously no one but you can answer that question, but FOR ME it's a zero calorie beverage that relieves the boredom of water and allows me to spend my calories on food, which is far more satisfying.
That's nice. I said I need to stop drinking it, I didn't say anything about you or anyone else regarding diet soda consumption. Odd that saying I need to stop putting something in my own body elicits responses from others expecting me to justify a decision that has no effect on them whatsoever, and defending their own choices, even though I didn't say anything about their choices.
I dont think there's any reason to get defensive.
You said you need to quit.
I simply asked why (which is the exact question posed by the OP).
It seems if you feel there's a legitimate necessity to quit, the reason why would be relevant to the discussion and potentially helpful to readers.
No one called on you to justify your decisions.13 -

What about pop with ice cream, because I might have done that today...3 -

As long as it was dark pop with vanilla ice cream, you're ok.3 -
As long as the ice cream is in the pop you are good lol1

No. If something is wrong with soda, I'd rather skip it altogether than drinking a modified version.6

That's sort of like saying that you can't have milk. Because if there's something wrong with it so that we need to make low-fat versions you'd rather stay away all together rather than having the modified version, or any other.
Who said there's anything wrong with the soda? That's not what this is about. It's about having something which is usually jam packed with sugar (and calories) and being able to bring it down a notch so that more people, such as for example diabetics, can have it too.3
