Hi Gals,
Rita – you look great.
Barbara – if you decide to drive you can stay in my guest room on the way down. I’m 45 minutes off of Highway 5.
Karen - those memories of Norte Dame are so much more special now.
What a sad day!

📙Accountability post for Monday, April 15th
✔️1. Carbs 50g max with no more than 25g per meal. (33g)
✔️2. Fiber 25g. (27g)
✔️3. Track in MFP. Complete the entry daily.
✔️4. Exercise - log 30 Fitbit minutes (36 Active minutes).
✖️5. No eating after 9pm.
✖️6. In bed by midnight.
• Overall Feeling: Frustrated. Overwhelmed. Distracted. Breathe...
• Exercise: I only had 11 minutes at 11:25pm as i sat on the sofa. So I switched over to YouTube Leslie Sansone and got busy.
• Eating deadline. I didn’t really look up until 9:30pm then realized i haven’t eaten supper. Haven’t eaten much today. Too distracted with other things.
• Bedtime-Sleep Hygiene. Late tonight getting my bath and getting to bed. But I’m tired.
• Bright Spot today: The scales moved down again instead of up. Haven’t been to this low since Dec. 6th. The yo-yo went “YO”.
• Today I’m grateful for:
1. A good night of sleep Sunday night.
2. Dan was able to repair the leaking drain pipe under the kitchen sink quickly today.
3. Choc Zero chocolate - sweetened with monk fruit and high in fiber- even if the fiber turned out to be soluable corn fiber and I’m not sure how i feel about corn fiber. But, I’ve limited my daily intake to one serving a day. And - they’re individually wrapped servings. I keep these in the kitchen safe for my own good. I get out one serving and spin the dial to lock it down for another 24 hours. Nice treat.
4. Being able to file an extension for Dad’s Tax Return. He doesn’t owe any taxes but I decided to file it anyway - for official record of his income. Probably didn’t need to file an extension but after my morning - I felt relief just parking it officially.
5. For the safety of the statues of the 12 Apostles and the relic “crown of thorns” from the fire of Notre Dame Cathedral. Though sad about so much more destroyed or damaged.

Morning friends, Rita you are an inspiration, you look so happy and healthy!
Embracing the day, and my second cup of coffee.

Beverly, welcome! We're good company. Congratulations on your losses!
I join in the sadness on the loss of Notre Dame - but was awestruck to see the people gathered, singing the cathedral to its rest. That the cathedral was built nearly a thousand years ago is just impossible to wrap my head around.
Long days for me and for my husband yesterday, so I ended up cooking for us both last night (unusual). We were discussing the fact that we both love our jobs, the only time in our ten years together that we've both been in jobs we love at the same time. It's interesting, when you don't have to struggle through your days, how your conversations at home change. I feel both incredibly fortunate, to be living in a place I love, with the man I love, working at a job I love, and oddly at a loss. Don't know how to explain that--except that there's been something to push against for years, and now I'm standing straight up, and feel sort of wobbly.
Humans are weird.
But, there's much to accomplish, and a day full of possibility ahead.
Staggering onward...
Love y'all!

So sad to see Notre Dame burning, I love beautiful buildings and history
DH finally had hearing check, of course he needs aids, after complaining about me mumbling for years. Now has to decide on which aids to have and wether to go with NHS or private. Suppose this will take an age to sort as he never rushes and nagging doesn't help LOL

Karen thank you for sharing your pictures!
Katla so sorry about your neighbor.
Beadowl thank you for your feedback. Still finding the right lawyer. Trying to find out what is happening to son now is another nightmare. All we know is he did make it to the hospital for an evaluation. They may have sent him to another hospital but because of Hippa laws were are told nothing.
Allie [/b hope your complaint is handled well. I will say if you can get patients to write a complaint it will get more notice. I know this from years of teaching. The complaints from parents were handled much effectively than from a teacher on staff.

Ginger – Where do you get that Choc Zero?
Welcome everyone new!
Allie – I forget, does you FIL know that you and Tom are divorced?
As promised, here is a picture of my Winnie the Pooh. The lady still has to pour the Tigger for me. I’ll post a picture of the frog after we finish getting it ready (meaning Vince finishes it) It looks like the thing in his had needs to be cut down and somehow it need to be secured to the hand so it doesn’t blow around in the breeze.

Ladies, I need your help.
I have a large ceramic turtle that I'll be doing eventually. However, in the meantime, he has a large stomach. Everything I've seen is that people write the family name on his stomach or the word "welcome". I honestly don't want either. But what it says needs to be something short (like one or two words).
I've googled trying to come up with words, but all I can find are things that are many more words.
Does anyone have anything they can think of that I can write on his stomach. I need to get a template ready and that'll take a while.
Then again, it's not like I don't have a lot to work on. Right now I'm working on the Peanuts characters. I'm doing PigPen right now. I have Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Snoopy (natch), Sally. Plus I have 5 of the 7 dwarfs to work on. So I have enough to keep me busy for a while. But I'd still like to have an idea of something to write on his stomach.

So nice to come home to a clean house.
Our new housecleaning team did their thing today!!
Meanwhile my endeavour to reduce the number of emails in my Inbox at work is going well. (not) I've gone from 25 emails on Friday evening to 50 emails on Monday evening and 75 emails this evening when I left work. In fact I dealt with one or two as soon as I got to the university in a vague attempt to chip away at it.

Hi all, sad about Notre Dame, but hope a lot of important stuff can be saved. The people doing the shoring up have a difficult job! As most of you know, I am a Francophile, and one of my favourite places in all the world is the view of it from the café on the opposite bank of the Seine. I want some of my ashes to be sprinkled near there, from the little footbridge.
Today we went into town on the bus to buy DH his very first smartphone. He is still on clockwork. Unfortunately the shop for his network did not have the right one in stock and the guru guy was on holiday, so he has ordered one from Amazon and will ring up to make an appointment to get it all set up with his old number etc. He has a steep learning curve ahead! He really wants it so he can follow sport results when he is out and about and for the maps. He rarely talks on the phone.
After paying in a royalties cheque for an old children's book we went to Marks and Spencer to buy easy food for tonight. I actually saw some trousers (pants) that I liked! I tried them on and bought them. Then I saw a great cardigan that will look great with the pants, so I bought that too! Hooray!
We saw there was 20% off homeware, so we looked for champagne glasses. We have loads already, but they are all too small for when it is just us. Found some we liked. At the till, instead of ringing up 20 percent off, it rang up 90 percent off! She tried twice, then called the supervisor. Yes, he said, there are some odd items like that. So we got £29.50 glasses for £2.84. !!!!!! DH thinks they must be closing the home department in that store as it is tiny. Anyway, bargain! !
At home I made the whole orange and almond cake for our guests next week. Now relaxing. Swing dance tonight. My cold is still horrible and I hardly slept. Sinus ache now.

Michelle ~ Very cute Pooh! Would love to see a photo of how you display all the cuties! Someone down the street from us has an array of Mexican type figures in their front island. They are tastefully arranged.
Beverly ~ You are to be commended for losing so much weight during the past year and for exercising even though you have mobility issues.
Allie ~ Know you must feel so sad inside knowing the your DFnL is nearing the end of his time here. Hugs for you and Tom.
Must be at the hospital at 5:30 in the morning for my knee surgery! Probably won't sleep tonight with it in the back of my mind. Any prayers are welcome.
DH is giving up on the BnL! We went to a meeting with him and the case worker last Friday. They tried to tell him that they cannot make any plans for his release unless he authorizes my husband (or someone else) to handle the financial ends of the arrangements that need to be made. He had a hissy fit and said that no one was going to mess with his finances. So, I guess the State will be called in in the long run. So sad!

Michele, I read Machka’s list, and my first thought was on there: Slow Down
Welcome, Beverly! Another newbie (somebody help me with her name) was asking for suggestions for chair exercises a while back. It may have even been in the March or February thread. I’m sure there are others who can benefit from your suggestions. Feel free to go ahead and post them. I know I broke my ankle last summer and needed some. Carol from GA is having knee surgery and might enjoy seeing what you do as well.
I’m slowly but surely getting the house back together. My husband was so sweet yesterday. You know how I am about the budget and categories, etc. Well, I had $1100 left in the home maintenance and repair category. I was planning to pick up some small rugs for the bedsides and, at some point, a large area rug for the living room. Well, I have had a feeling for a while that we needed to attend to the septic tank. No major red flags, but a little gurgling every now and then from the hall toilet. I had asked around and was expecting to pay around $400 to have it pumped. He called, they came; there were more serious issues uncovered (pun intended) when they dug around it. Final cost: $1075. Bye, bye budget category! Dave, totally out of the blue yesterday afternoon, said, “ Come on, Kay. Let’s go rug shopping. I have $600 in my wallet that I was going to put in my savings (some of you may remember his personal stop smoking savings account), but I am willing to spend it on a rug since I know you were disappointed that the septic tank was more than you were expecting. I didn’t think it needed it. Turned out you were right. I’m glad we had it done. I just want to do this for you.” Yes, that man drives me crazy at times, but he really is a keeper.
This is the one I’m considering.
For this room:
We didn’t purchase it yesterday, but will probably go back and get it this afternoon. The color in the rug that looks like a reddish brown is actually a rich burgundy that matches the curtains and sofa toss pillows very well.
I ended up ordering bedside rugs from Amazon. I haven’t been able to find what I wanted in the stores and found one I liked for $20. I ordered a couple plus the non-slip mats this morning. They will be here Friday.
I have two bookcases, two boxes of home decor stuff, and 5 boxes of books for the thrift store. I still have things I need to purge from the study, and a few things still to hang on the walls. My goal is to be finished by Easter.
Kay, from NEGA

Barbie " pets bring us so many opportunities for spiritual growth" Truth! Will remember and smile next time cleaning up an accident
Karen stunning pics and so very sad. Reminder to make the most of every opportunity.
Kim thank you for your generous offer! Would love to see your yard
Ginger "kitchen safe" what a brilliant idea!
Lisa could the wobbliness just be your emotional stability muscles learning to adjust to the new not-pushing-against-anything normal? Sometimes losing a negative is still a loss.
allie and hugs for you and Homer.
Machka thank you SOOO Much for the "Machka in the morning" pics. Brought bellylaughs! Could as well have been "Barbara before her second cup of tea". Envy you and Heather your housecleaners.
Michele what is it that you want to say to people who see your turtle? Tell us the story and bet one of the writing ladies here can come up with the word or short phrase.
Heather WOW what a successful shopping day, (slacks, sweater, flutes). Don't you just love English?
Carol we'll be in both your and your caregivers' pockets. Healing prayers. Yuor DH has done all he could. Glad he's willing to step back from the BnL situation. Neither your DH nor you need the stress.
Kay "slow down" is so apt for on Michele's turtle Hip Hip Hooray for your husband!
Welcome beadowl, let us know what you'd like to be called and your general locale.
Welcome Beverly from NY and congrats on your amazing success the past year.
pip, Michele, Heather, Machka, Mary in AZ, KJ, Barbie and others I've been meaning for a long time to salute your activity levels. Now add to that Sharon, b4leaving and Beverly in NY and others who've found ways to exercise despite mobility challenges, you are motivating me to get up and MOVE! Raining too much to weed, Virgo moon, time to go through those bookshelves, purge and dust. Thank you all!
Ditto missing Joyce and Meg. Anyone heard from Leonora? Wishing them all well.

Carol healing thoughts are speeding your way As challenging as it is to let go, your DH now must let go, sad but true. Both DH and I on both sides have had to learn that sad lesson about familly members that refuse assistance.
The sun is shining, but there is still a nip in the air. I will get to the gym today then another evening concert.
