Happy National Dance Like A Chicken Day!

bananasandoranges - Neither of us gets any paid time off, so annual ski vacations aren't in the cards for us. The climate is one of the things I miss most about living in New Mexico! But I really really am hoping we can manage to take that week off next January and get back on the skis.
I did a lot of walking around the RV park and the commencement venue this weekend. Thought the ankle I injured awhile back was healed but apparently not. When I'm on it a lot it still gets puffy and aches, so I've put the compression bandage back on. That didn't stop me from my session on the Nordic Track this afternoon though.
Welcome to the new arrivals, congratulations on the new family members, best of wishes for those of you who are going through tough times. I think of you all often.

Hi Gals,
Great to keep up with everyone, just a bit to tell what’s been going on here. In the middle of 3 weeks of crazies! A week ago was my friend’s wedding with the feathers… it went great but so so much driving. A beautiful location – a long story but I ended up having a mutual girl friend come along and due to a cancelation we ended up in the higher end hotel.. such a blessing! 2 days 750 miles of driving, and one tired camper I was!!!
This week was Mother’s Day, which my mom moved to Thursday/Friday/ Saturday morning. Friday I took her about 1 hour (each way) north of me to see a friend in memory care. She is being well cared for and her daughter, grand daughter and 2 great-grand kids live close. But that was more driving for me. Then Saturday/Sunday the children’s camp I work at did a special weekend program called Women’s Wellness, it went well but was a ton of work, the folks that usually organize it were not around and the gal who did the organizing is not good. So some last minute stepping up meant an 11 hour day at camp. I was pooped!
Thursday I leave for a couple of days of vacation to the ocean, visiting a friend. I have the god kids staying with Levi. Just tons to catch up with!

Made it home late Saturday after a week in Mexico. Lots of work with my daughters 3 little ones. Some from up North came with us. It was his gift to me. So fun to have him around for a week.
Absolutely exhausted from lots of walking and not sleeping well. Spent most of Sunday in bed then Mother’s Day dinner at daughters.
Back at work with the usual crazy busyness today. Thankfully don’t have to get up early tomorrow as I am on nights. Walked so much I lost 3 pounds. Now to figure out how to add more activity to my day on a regular basis

Had a busy week which has made it harder to log my food and check in with you, but I'm back on the bandwaggon, but so much to do and don't have time to catch up with all your news, I will try and catch up, but I need to cut the grass whilst it is dry, it's like a jungle out there so I have to strike whilst the iron is hot - so to speak
Wishing everyone good health and happiness and hugs to those in need. I'm a bit worried about my dad, he seems to be going downhill. To be honest I think he has had enough, but he's hanging on in there.

Started taking the antibiotics Friday. Sunday my allergies went into overdrive--not saying they're connected, just seriously bad timing. The whole bit, sneezing, itchy eyes and face, feel like crap on a cracker. Still do. Tired of feeling rotten. Sorry to vent.

Hi all, we are going on a guided walk this afternoon, as part of the festival. It's about smugglers, anarchists etc. :laugh:
This evening it's Swing dancing, so we will be pretty well knackered.
DH didn't sleep at all last night and disappeared into the next room to read all night. I didn't realise he had gone, so took myself upstairs when I had a wakeful period in the night. I read for about 45 mins and then drifted off. DH heard me go upstairs and went back to our bed. He was having an anxiety attack, IBS, etc. It is most likely because his younger daughter is still suffering from the painful residue of a bowel operation and is upset about not being able to sell her apartment. There are noise and nuisance issues from upstairs, which is not what she needs right now. Poor DH always gets upset when she is having a bad time. His anxiety appears to be free floating, but there is always a trigger.
Eventually everything settles down and he is ok again.
A woman came along yesterday and asked us to sign a paper for a street party at the end of June. They have to have a road closure up our end, though the actual party is further up, so we won't have to move our car. 11 a m - 11 p m. Not my idea of a great time, but it's a way to meet the neighbours, I guess. Apparently they have it every year. I can rustle up something to eat, I expect. It's the music I find irritating.
Lovely weather again for the walk.
Lisa - You sound like me last week. It seemed to be one thing after another! Grrrrrrrrrr! We just want to feel well, or even ok. We know it's not life threatening, but it drags you down.

last classes today and tomorrow. may not get much else done, spent 5 hours correcting papers and taking notes or noting for feedback...I'm tired now. glad I made it to the gym for 15 min at elliptical (+ walk there and back) I think I only produced 14 page yesterday not 20 and that there was a bug making extra big margins...
still way behind-only at 38 pages and not 100 as I'd hoped to be.1 -

I had hoped, but no, I don't think so.
The home visit was done by the "Senior OT" ... a girl who looks younger than his very young RTW gal. And the questions she asked ...
Her questions showed that she ...
-- did not understand brain injury.
-- did not understand seizures and epilepsy.
-- did not understand that my husband has been doing the things she was asking about for almost a year now.
-- did not understand his limitations.
-- was completely unaware of the things I was asking for advice about!! (i.e. she didn't have the faintest idea what Medic Alert was)
I had sent her documents about my husband, and links and info about what we would like ... but she hadn't even glanced at any of it so she didn't even seem to know why she was there. She knew she was doing an assessment, but it was almost like she was expecting someone in a wheelchair or something.
Now we're waiting for her report. I'm feeling both curiosity and dread.
