Pip, thank you for sharing your story. I am so glad you and Kirby found each other and have built a wonderful life. Does he have Angel wings somewhere? Or perhaps a halo (maybe a little tilted, lol.)

Tracey - thank goodness you took those little guys under your wing. I think something might be fishy there.... in their pajamas yet had the maturity to put on boots and wander outside unattended for a while? Maybe littles are that sharp these days. :o It will be interesting to see if it happens again and what's going on in their home. Scary tho!

    - glad you made it safe and sound. Crossing fingers the antibiotics continue to help your problem. Great quilt! I admire that stitching! Do you have a template of some kind or is it "free form" on the machine?

Lanette - It was a Comté from France that I have eaten many times from different places. This time I just sliced off the rind from one square edge and ate that, (I do the same with Parmesan). 20 -30 mins later my tongue started to hurt and swell and my palms itch and go red. I then got welts around my waist. My tongue was huge and I could hardly talk to the advice line woman. She called the ambulance. I must say the two paramedics who turned up were gorgeous! :o I tell DH that it's twice he's saved my life recently. (The other time was when I just missed getting hit by a car and he grabbed me) He must love me.

I walked down to the supermarket and put in a report about the reaction and gave them the cheese. They will keep it for collection by the suppliers who will investigate. I said I thought it should be temporarily withdrawn, but she said the 'higher ups' will decide that when the report goes in. I got my money back. ;) The warning writing is very small and on the back of the packet. Not edible, to me does not mean dangerous! Of course I hadn't read it as I am not an allergic person. I would love to know what it was. They will write to me. I can't be the only person who likes to eat cheese rinds, so I wanted them to safeguard others. Oh well, I've done my civic duty.

DH has started to put together some flat pack shelves I bought online to display my children’s and adult books up on the top floor, my study. At the moment the books are all still in a box which is operating as a bedside table. I want to have them face on, as I did in my previous house. The room is our main guest room. I promise a pic when it's done.

    Barbara love the stepping stones!

Enjoyed my painting class yesterday. I will miss Candella when she moves to Wyoming. She is so talented. I hope she starts her own group.

Barbara love the stepping stones made out of tree stumps, nice memory and good use of materials.

I can't wait for my peonies to blossom, I've never had luck with the plant (3 years now) but this year they have buds so there's hope. I will be sure to post as soon as they do!

Just checking in. Reading everyday in the mornings and evenings. Have enjoyed keeping up. Love the stories and lives we share here.
I’m keeping up with my logging food and exercise. Since mid March life has been difficult. When my sister and I got the winning ruling from the Superior Court, there have been numerous filings in protest from the other side. The Superior Ct held firm and refused to reverse itself on us being the prevailing party and being due 20% attorney fees. Now my brother and cousin have appealed to the state Supreme Court on 8 counts and asked the Supremes to reverse the prevailing party designation and to order us to pay their attorney fees. Friday they hired an appellate “specialist” firm to do their brief and arguments to the Supreme Court. My lawyer says not to worry because no matter how many lawyers they have (4 firms now on retainer) the facts don’t change.

Doesn’t help that my DH caught the spring crud last week and is still hacking and wheezing. Yesterday I began with itchy eyes and throat but don’t feel rotten. That’s my rant on life for today. :)

Heather: You are lucky to have had such a positive High School experience. I am so sorry about your allergic response to the cheese rind. Yikes! :star:

Seahorsey: Welcome to a great group. Stop by often to give and get support. :flowerforyou:

    Pip: Regarding Kirby--woohoo!!!

Betsy in NW WA: I’m sorry to hear that life has been difficult lately. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good legal decision. I’m guessing the stress may have contributed to your spring crud. I hope you both feel better soon.

Machka: Our DDIL is a certified Pilates Instructor. She has a large exercise machine and absolutely loves Pilates. It saved her from chronic pain.

Speaking of DDIL, she is staying with her mom right now in order to help during a health crisis. Her mom has been diagnosed with four kinds of cancer that have each attacked different internal organs and has been scheduled for a series of surgeries. I'm keeping the family in my prayers.

Regarding appliances, we buy American made products whenever possible. We have a Whirlpool Refrigerator with freezer at the bottom that we love. It needs defrosting once in a long while. We also have a Speed Queen washer and dryer set. When our old front-loading set failed I went to the laundromat to see what they had and saw loads of industrial Speed Queen machines. I wound up with a good decision. I have a big home sized set, not the huge commercial set. I hope to have them for a very long time.

Lanette - We are good on the edge of the TX Hill Country. By and large it missed us completely. We got a bit of rain this morning, but that was all. So far no reports of damage from my family/friends in OK or KS. Thanks for checking on me!

Heather - That was a scare!

Machka - I can't believe how inept the RTW people are at keeping up with the progress of your husband and any setbacks. I imagine that you had sent that information to them and they just failed to read it.

Barbara - Love the cedar stepping stones

Lisa - That quilt is gorgeous. I can't hang anything straight either.

Rebecca - I might have done the same thing as you. It was out of kindness so I hope they didn't take you to task too hard. I bet you are very anxious for June to get here so you can meet beautiful Athena Rose.

I know that there was a lot more I wanted to comment on, but I didn't make a lot of notes and need to get off here. I overslept this morning after having a very awake night so feel I am missing my day.

I will check in better tomorrow.

So a few people have asked why my ballerina daughter would need to work on cardio stamina. Ballet class is intense, but contains lots of breaks and pauses (except jumps-that’s work). A large dance piece performed as part of the corps de ballet, a solo variation or pas de deux might be 10-15 minutes long. Class does not give them the stamina for that. Most professional dancers spend an hour in the gym before company class and all day rehearsal.

So we are going to bond at the gym this summer.

Lanette We are going to have the LG Refrigerator repaired tomorrow at no charge. Not sure how long the compressor will last. Maybe they've fixed the design flaw. I'll ask the technician when he arrives.

Rori--Thanks for the info on the cane. Looks interesting.

Heather--How scary. I am so glad you are ok.

Tracey--I can't understand parents. You would think someone would come looking for them before the police got there. I worry about that also.Thank you for taking the time to take care of them.

    Sharin--Hugs!!

    Lisa--The blanket turned out beautiful.

Rebecca--The pictures of your new grand daughter are beautiful. Just looking at the pictures I want to suggle with her.
More I wanted to say, but lost my train of thought. It's been raining here all night and all day and I just want the sun to shine.
