Evie, you just never hear people say, “I heard the call of the vacuum and I had to follow!” Lol!Sharon, you are so right! lol
Well, in the end, I did the vacuuming, cleaned bathrooms, took care of some dishes and even folded laundry. I do enjoy the feeling of it being done, but just sometimes have a hard time getting motivated enough to actually do it!!
Oh yeah and took the multitude of bananas out of the freezer and made a bunch of muffins. Made some mini ones for our grandson, regular size for us and maybe for our son and daughter in law, although she is feeling much better now (difficult pregnancy, c-section) so is probably up for doing her own baking. Our little granddaughter is one month old already!
Heather so glad the service was a tribute befitting your friend.
Allie, have you tried talking to your boss? I mean really had a heart to heart with him? Does he realize how all the pressure he puts on you is affecting you? Or is he just a jerk? Doesn't seem fair that he hire some cute young thing and cut your hours, sounds like there's enough work there for three full timers! It's nice that you and Elena have officially met and are on even ground. Not sure I could be that generous, but good for you!
Rebecca, oh my, that Athena, what a beauty she is!
Lisa, good for you for your walking! You definitely need to tell that little voice that harps about taking 30 min to walk a mile to take a long walk off a short pier! (wonder how long that would take?? lol) Glad to hear that you are taking it gradually tho, I think you have made such remarkable progress, you are an inspiration! Also congrats on the grant from Americorps! Such a great organization to be supporting, I totally understand how that would warm your heart and make it all worthwhile!
That's it for me for now. Trying to get back on track, have actually tracked my food today and there is even room for a goody after dinner, provided I don't get stupid about it!
Hugs to those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Oh my goodness ladies--you miss two days on here and it seems like you can never catch up! So much going on with everyone--no way I can reply tonight! For those having a tough time, I will keep you in my prayers (or well wishes if you prefer). This is an inspiring group that deals with whatever life hands them! Same as with the weight, we can't give up and keep on trying.
Also so much joy shared on here--I can always get a smile.
Doing well with my goals. Sill have steady weight loss. Getting step in. Finding myself more productive at work and home,
Only got 5 hours sleep last night. Really need some good sleep. Going to take a benadryl tonight to help.
Keep up the good work all.

Took the water aerobics class today. The plan for tomorrow is to do Prevention’s Belly Butt and Thigh DVD
Pip – What can I say? I’m so sorry for you and Winkie. My heart is breaking for you and Kirby. How old is Bootz?
Welcome everyone new!
I’m on hold right now to set my appt for my mammo.
Exercised, went to the Salvation Army, got this portable playpen/crib. I do need to wash and disinfectant it good, then to Aldi, now I want to go out and vacuum the spa
Need to run and take Rover out of the pool. Vacuumed out the spa since it looks threatening out. They started digging for the pool across the street from us
Lisa – love Snoopy dancing! How nice of you to give Marta that link!
Rita – oh, do I ever hear you about hubbys redoing what you did. Mine gives me specific instructions (remember, he’s OCD) how things are to be done. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said “what’s the difference if I do it my way?” Hope your hip is better
Oh..here comes the rain!
Sharon – all the ceramics I do are for out by our pool. I want some color since the rocks are all beige. We’re getting there. There are a few pieces that need to be in the same place every year because we have a piece of PVC pipe that goes inside the ceramic so that the wind doesn’t blow it over like the pelicans, the dolphins, the sign etc. The Peanuts gang will need to be on the side of our garage since that area only gets the morning sun. I want to have Linus’ blanket fade as little as possible. I know that it’ll happen and I’ll have to replace it, but hopefully by it not being in the sunlight it won’t fade as quickly
Katla – our vet was like 20 minutes away. We drove that because we really liked him. Then he left the practice and joined a practice almost within walking distance of our house! The bad part is that there isn’t much parking. Hopefully, that’ll change. But in the meantime, we’re going there.
Carol – you can roast frozen broccoli! That’s great – thanks for telling me. At what temp and for how long?
Sharon - here are some pics of the pool area. I really need to take some more up-to-date pics, but this gives you a good idea

Hi Gals,
OMGosh I must have skipped a page! Reading reactions to something I had not seen was a big clue!
Pip, Kirby and the pups – I have done the good bye at home and it is still really hard but not as bad as trying to drive home alone. My heart is with you all .
Janetr – the glasses and new do – between you and Katie bug with a new do and Heathers bling trainers – we have the style queens in our world!
Katla – my best thinking time is while Levi and I walk, he and I talk over all sorts of things and this morning was you DH and the RV – I wondered what exactly his concern is. Is it too much driving? Not sure of where he is going? I would get online or AAA books on camp sites and things to see and break the trip up maybe drive 4-5 hours for a couple of days then spend 2 days in an area you would like to see. Would it help/would you be willing to drive the RV – there are classes! I drove one with friends on a trip and just went into the local RV sales place and got one of the staff to teach me – cost me a 6 pack and home made chocolate chip cookies.
Rebecca – do you have a “way out” if time with middle sister just doesn’t work. Can your son or DIL come get you? Uber/Lyft?
Lisa – wow 400 girls that will have a year of girl scouts! That is a huge huge difference on the girls and the families. Lisa for President of the USA and Corey as the first hubby…. I’ll vote for you!
Allie – check with your state department of labor, there are rules about what a manager can require and what they have to pay for. You need to know your rights before you talk to him… Then you are talking from a place of power.
Michele - your place looks like a mansion!
Newbies – welcome!
It has been over 100 for at least 3 days – I don’t have air conditioning and it has been miserable! Fans and opening windows all night – and when it doesn’t cool down outside, it’s not cool inside – tonight it is 88 F at 7pm with a bit of a breeze, last night it was not 88 until 11pm so this is a huge improvement. I day dream about air conditioning, but I would need all you handy folks to come to my house and work, as the electrical box is still glass screw in fuses, there is no ducting (I don’t have central heat either) so about 15 years ago (my last quote) it was in the $18,000 usd range… not happening and you know in the last 15 years the price has not gone down – LOL! Monday and Tuesday I gardened in the morning; Monday I think I was flirting with heat exhaustion, but Tuesday I had a mammogram early afternoon so came home and got in a cool shower – that is what I need to remember to do on these hot days. I cancelled my gardening for this morning; and got a ton done, laundry washed and dried on the clothes line for about 20 minutes and completely dry! Defrosted and cleaned out the garage freezer. Did a few hours of embroidery, and cleaned house. Life feels more under control.

Hi all!
I had a busy day! I made spinach quiche this morning for lunch, planted zucchini plants, mowed the back lawn (inside the fence) cooked dinner, and went to Bible Journaling class at church at 6 pm. I did have a shower before my class!
I was under my goal for the day so it’s been a successful day!
Have a great Thursday!

Viv ... keeping you and your family in my prayers ... So very sorry...
Michele ... some of the stumps of the trees we're removing have been uprooted somewhat due to heavy snow (one of the reasons we're taking them down). Those that are exposed are going to be dragged out and a friend will haul them away. Those that are fully underground are being cut off as close to the ground as possible. We plan to bring in at least one truck load of dirt and cover them ... mounding actually .. so that we can plant something more suitable to the landscape and climate on top.
Mary ... you are an inspiration! Thank you too for the information on the electro acupuncture for lymes. Have filed that away for future reference if needed.
NY Karen ... I'm not sure what I missed, but I know that you are capable of handling anything that life throws your way.
Pip ... so very sorry your fur baby is at the end of his journey ... hugs.
So many of you know that I am profoundly hearing impaired. I've dragged my feet for years on taking any action in regards to hearing aides or cochlear implants. Well, I'm getting hearing aides next week to help prepare my auditory system for a cochlear implant. Unfortunately, my word discernment without visual cues has reached 0%. The purpose of hearing aides will be to prepare my ears for more sound. To condition my auditory nerves so to speak. And the more sound I receive gives me more cues to work with. Only a cochlear implant has the potential to give me back word discernment. My family is happy that I am finally doing something.
On another note though, there's a suspicion I have lupus. I've been dealing with a rash on my face since late Fall. I guess it's called a Malar rash and is characteristic of Lupus. I don't have any other symptoms. And it might be something else so I'm scheduled to see a dermatologist first and go from there. Always something!
Beth

Beth - thanks. Sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well. My friend has lupus. One of her symptoms is feeling lethargic.
Mary from Minnesota/Arizona1 -
Mary - thank you, I think I’ll be ready when this wedding is over. I need all of my energy for this right now so don’t want to start anything extra.
Karen in NY - sometimes I think a good cry just cleanses the soul.
Allie - prayers for you, I hope you find something soon.
Janet - love the glasses.
Carol - is there anyone else that can help ease the burden on your DH?
Pip - so sorry to hear about bullwinkle.
Lisa - congratulations on receiving the grants. I love that the funding will help young girls that need it.
Margaret - how wonderful you got to take a walk with your son.
Michele - love Lucy and Snoopy. I really wish I could visit you and see your yard. I just love your pool.
Lanette - thank you, we are going to learn lots more living here I think.
Our next big project is a new deck.
Nancy - welcome
Kim - electric work is so crazy expensive.
Beth - good luck with the hearing aids and hopefully it’s not Lupus.
I am almost two days behind again. I spent yesterday afternoon, evening and night crafting with Kaitlyn for the bridal party. She left at 337 this morning, I waited for her to text that she was home safely before I went to bed. I then got up at 845 and walked to my job interview. It seemed to go well and I’ll know next week if it’s mine or not. I wore dress shoes and ended up with some blisters that I hope heal quickly. I did have a one hour nap this afternoon but am going to head to bed here very soon.

I stayed Tuesday night with an old friend from when the children were young. Caught up with her and admired her super modern new architect designed house, crammed into a garden space behind the tube station. Amazing! I could just about hear the trains rumbling underneath when it was quiet at night.
Caught an Uber to the funeral as I had my case with me and I knew the cemetery area would be huge. The driver got lost !
All her UK friends were there, family, of course, and a lot of people that were a mystery. I was glad some of us had pink accents on our clothes. I was very touched when the cortege drew up. Her two boys have turned into fine young men who spoke about their mum with such love and gratitude. She was a real Tiger Mum, bringing up two black boys in North London. Three of her friends spoke and one read an episode from her first children's book. The person who lead the service was a Humanist and had clearly done her research as she gave the story of Ros's life, an illegitimate mixed race girl, in 50s Birmingham, brought up in a children's home and had fought to make such a success of her life.
The music was "Young, Gifted and Black". They read poems - very touching.
Her friends talked about her special genius for friendship.
I think she would have been very pleased with the send off we gave her. I can just see her wry smile as she assessed it all and then a big laugh.
The wake was in a lovely conservatory in a London pub. Excellent food. I ate too much, had a few drinks and then caught the train home.
I am sooooooooooooo stiff this morning. Need to get some exercise.
I will post a couple of pics later.
Much love to all and hugs for Pip.

Evie- told him last Thursday that Mary and I are doing the best that we can and piling more on us will not help.. dont think he got the picture...or in his own way he is just conniving his way at trying to get us out so he can get cheap labir..2

Heather The whole trip sounds wonderful; wake, funeral, and super modern house. So glad for you.

Marta, oh Athena Rose is our new grandbaby! She was born May 11th💖
Kim from N. California, well not really a way out, but I will just keep my wits about me. My sister did pick me up fine today, and tomorrow she will most likely sleep for most of the day. I am shocked at her living conditions. At this moment I am in her bedroom, and she is on her couch, ( so she can drink). There are about 30 bottles on a bookshelf and floor of this room, and another 30+ bottles (of tequila) on her coffee table. I was shocked but she doesn't even notice them. I would call her a functioning alcoholic. I don't know how well I can sleep tonight. Missing my dear husband.
💖Rebecca5 -
So sorry Rebecca, it must be a great worry for you and deeply upsetting.
