Katla, Thank you, that's very sweet. I'm blushing I'm sure. After being teased from as young as I remember about being fat, chubby, whatever, it's hard for me to accept compliments without feeling embarrassed. My youngest daughter for several years has got after me to "just say thank you" so from the bottom of my heart, thank you

Margaret, thank you

Katla - thanks! It has become routine. I actually found things that come natural to me. I gave up everything that I was doing that caused weight gain and adopted things that worked best for my lifestyle
Janetr - You look fantastic! The glasses are a perfect fit!
Have a great night everyone!

Pip, I'm so sorry about Bullwinkle's diagnosis, so hard when we know we're losing our furbabies.....
Michele, thank you but it was my mother in law that passed recently. My mom passed just over 8 years ago, I still miss her.
Janet, hair cut and glasses look great!

Pip: Bless you and Winkle. I teared up reading your plans for seeing her transition over the rainbow bridge. How is Bootz?
Janetr: Hair and glasses = Winners!
Katla: Hope you can set plans for visiting your kids.
For the first time since end of April, I did shopped in a grocery store. Trader Joe's is smaller than Walmart, so it wasn't extremely taxing. But by the time I unloaded everything, my feet and ankles were feeling it.
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Wow! 153 posts since I last was on here. I finally caught up.
Viv/UK I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I’ll pray that the Lord gives you and your family peace in the coming days.
Janet I love your hair and glasses! Very becoming on you!
Heather Those trainers are cool! I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of them!
Lanette Do you have neuropathy? I do and take Gabapentin and use various creams on my feet at night to help with the burning and prickly feelings.
My balance is awful due to it and I trip, run into walls, and can’t walk straight sometimes! People must think I’m drunk! LOL
IPHONE BATTERIES You can order batteries from Amazon. They come with tiny screwdrivers so you can open up the phone. About $10-$15.
I’ve did pretty good today! I try to stay at 1350/cal a day, but I was at 1191 today and had excess from exercise. Even after the chocolate muffin mess up I still lost .8 lbs!
I was kind of tired today and woke up with my right leg hurting. I lifted some boxes in the garage which I shouldn’t have. So I was paying for it! Habitat for Humanity is coming on Thursday to pick up a sofa and an old TV so I was looking for things I would like to give to them. It’s been cool in the mornings so maybe I’ll try again tomorrow.
Have a good evening/morning!

Have any of you done a stair climbing challenge, race, etc.?
https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/the-5-best-stair-climbing-races-to-run/
I climb stairs quite regularly but haven't done it at all competitively, or at a running pace. There are, however, a couple sets of stairs in this area which I think people do take on as a challenge.

Hi all, is this a group of women over 50? Am I allowed to join? I have gained 10 plus pounds I am really unhappy about and need to lose ASAP. I need motivation and accountability!9

Pip-so sorry about Bullwinkle.
Janetr- love the hair and glasses!! Great choices!
Took a wonderful 3 mile walk on our Waterfront Park while my daughter was in dance class. The sun was still a little intense, but the breeze coming off the river made it just perfect!

@martacamsan Yes, anyone can join in. Bookmark the thread by clicking on the star above the magnifying glass symbol at the top right of the page. That way you can find us again. And Welcome!
Janetr Pretty glasses. Can't wait to so the new "do". You are beautiful.
Pip I was hoping the lump would just be a cyst or something. I'm so sorry. Bullwinkle will have the very best caretaker in the world for the rest of her time here. (((Hugs))). I'm the night-time caretaker for our aging dogs, too. I saw Farley through and now Bailey. I'm up right now because I had to change a diaper...
KarenNY (((Hugs)))
Rori Hope your sore ankles recover quickly. I know you never had this on your agenda when you thought about how this spring and summer would be.
Carol (((Hugs))) So sorry you and your husband are dealing with this. Years ago, someone broke into my brother's apartment when he was hospitalized and stole his old Gibson guitar. One of the few things he cherished.

Tomorrow son, wife and Athena go over to my MILs home. We have a great relationship with her, and my son and DIL have visited her a lot since moving up to Pacific northwest, from California. My middle sister, the one that has no empathy, and drinks to handle her pain from fibromyalgia, is coming to my mother in-laws home too. I will then go stay with her until Friday. I told my sister we will be going over there at 11:00 and have lunch with MIL. My sister text back that she'll getting there at 2:00pm. My son said that they don't want to leave their dogs longer than 4 hours, plus wife needs to be home to pump. My spider senses are already tingling about my sister. What if she wishes to take me to her "family bar", I just roll with it? I know she praises her bars food, but its just an excuse to eat and drink. me

Yes, we are a group of 50+ something women. You are more than welcome to join us. It helps us respond if you tell us a little about yourself and sign each post with a name you would like us to call you. Because we are a large group and many names duplicated, if you add your location behind your name it's very helpful.

bootz our cat is doing fine. she's slowed down a bit but that's it2 -
Nap helped. So did sitting on front porch with Joe to catch the breeze. 10+ degrees cooler at the front of the house than the back. Have to laugh at myself being so heat sensitive, it was only 85 for gosh's sake! We've been so spoiled by the perpetual mild temps that our bodies have forgotten how to cope with extremes
of heat and cold.

allie prayers continue for your work situation. Hope the right job comes looking for you soon.

Carolhow is it the baddies know as soon as a house is unoccupied? In a neighborhood up the hill from us, a young man broke into the house of a recently deceased person, stole many things, causing great hardship to an already grieving family.
pip (((hugs))) heart aches for you and Kirby.
Amber "Hide the mirrors say hope I don’t have to see that Woman for another year lol." you crack me up!
@martacamsan welcome!
Midway through line dancing my legs began to ache with tiredness. Finally had to sit out one iteration of the last dance, and staggered home straight to bed. What the heck was with that? No unusual exertion yesterday, 5 hours of driving and 2 hrs of shopping, good steps. ?

morning ladies~
Pip~ ohhh poor Bullwinkle, I know you and Kirby have done all you can do.. and will continue to do so.. losing our furry children is so tough xoxox
Janet`~ Love the hair and glasses...well I dont know if stress causes weight gain but somehow I gained 5 lbs overnight eating the same stuff I do daily..
actually planning the reunion wasn't hard. at this stage of the game we are getting together and enjoying each others company... we all grew up in a small town.. and we figured we would have it on Friday night of Labor day weekend, so that people can have the rest of the weekend to do things..
going to have my tea and relax and then get dressed...3 -
Pip - much respect and love for the life you've given Bullwinkle, and the way you plan to see her out of it. You and Kirby are stronger than most, glad you have each other, Floyd, Yogi and Bootz with her as she goes, and to hold each other.
Janet - love your hair color and cut as well as the glasses. Haven't let mine go gray yet, because it's still randomly gray and patchy, but looking forward to it. You look lovely. Regarding the ex-wife, there are reasons why she's the ex and Jack is with you, and remarks like that are probably Exhibit A. They sound like compliments, but they have sharp edges. You look so happy in the photo, I'm happy for you.
Margaret - love how much of yourself and your healing presence that you're giving your son as he goes through this.
Barbara AHMOD - so far, two things have had that sudden exhaustion effect on me, my thyroid and my iron levels. You might want to get them checked. Both kind of snuck up on me, as it's a slow process. Both also have the effect of making me temperature-sensitive. Worth getting some testing done?
Still dark outside, but the birds they are a-chirping like mad. Only 58 degrees this morning, and the rain's supposed to start again at 9, so I'll pop out about 6:30 and walk the edges of the property... See if I can't make it to a mile this morning--six laps around.
Got great news yesterday - the grant I mentioned that we won last week was a matching grant for a larger one to work with girls in schools and community centers across five of the poorest counties in Arkansas. Yesterday we got notified that we've won the full AmeriCorps grant that it was meant to match as well, so we've completely funded 400 girls for a year of Girl Scout experience through these two grants. These are girls to whom the $25 membership fee would be an insurmountable barrier for their parents, so we go where they are. Part of the AmeriCorps members' mandate is to also recruit volunteers to start troops in the area, as well, to build a community of support for these girls. My job is to get the funding to make it happen. These are the times that remind me why I love my job, when all the hard work pays off.
Welcome to those who are new, we're glad you're here!
Love y'all!

Pip - I'm so sorry to hear the diagnosis of Bullwinkle. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Kirby as you go through this difficult time. Hugs!
