KJ - Good move! You deserve regular hours. Are you managing to save for a pension?
Love Heather UK xxxxxxx1 -
Off to the big city (Little Rock) for a couple days. Don't like being away from my husband, and especially for a sales training, most of which will be old hat for me, but I've trying to "flip" it to be part of my ongoing effort to continue to integrate myself into the team, not always easy for remote workers like me. Could have made it a one-night thing, but chose to go a day early, and pay for my own hotel room for the first night. It only cost me $16, as I have a bunch of free nights from hotels.com from all the traveling these last couple years. That way, I only pay the taxes.
My energy levels are good, and getting better, but my stamina/endurance levels still not so much, and being in large groups exhausts me. My introvert tendencies keep my adrenaline high in groups. I like knowing myself this well--but subconsciously resist changing myself to suit my environment at much higher levels as the years go by. Double-edged sword. I was much more of a chameleon when younger. I still can do it, plaster a genuine smile on my face, and be happy to be part of a group... but it makes me tired now. That's a lie. It always made me tired, I just get there faster now.
Ah well, I'm also a big fat dreader. I dread everything, and especially events like this. I will probably enjoy quite a bit of it, and just need to get over myself.
Allie - thinking about you, girlie. Just breathe...
Love y'all,

Belated best birthday wishes Rebecca. Time with DS, DDIL & Athena Rose=best birthday EVER!
Lanette T'ai Chi in the park hooray! My first experience with T'ai Chi was in the Idaho Botanical Gardens in Boise. Lovely!
Amber Don't know about Sweet'n'Low but Splenda has a baking product that worked well for me... before I gave up artificial sweeteners... ;} Lately I've been trying to have an apple, orange or some frozen grapes instead of a cookie... SOMETIMES ;}
Barbie, NYKaren and Mary ditto! Especially Mary's comment to Barbie "thank you for making this a happy place for everyone!" Amen!
Kate loved the umbrellas before reading about the project. Now even more so. Thanks!
Shannon in Ont "catio" Laughed and love it!
Cathy in Arlington TX and Rori oooh! [pool envy]
Michele, thanks! That play DOES sound like a hoot!
Ginny sounds to me as if the anger was a little cathartic, opening the way for your mantra to restore your peace.
Sharon the pic of your DGD and her groom.
Machka "...a 300 % increase in a protein known to help the brain recover..." WOW. Thanks! Whoa! Who sez"...a carrot cake is not a vegetable?"
Katla "... the cat and I decided to let him live..." ROTFLMAO
Janet what a scary storm! Glad no one was in hurt.
Connie in KY loved the Thanksgiving plank story. Great images
Julie maybe the sodium in the feta is the culprit, salty stuff always pops me up.
allie "...grace and decorum..." Brava!
Poor Joe always gets shortchanged on Father's Day as his birthday is June 15 (and all our children have four paws). He got a trail cam for his birthday (insert long story rant). He washed my office window (YAY) so got Windex along with hornet spray (to keep the bear away from the trashcan) and carpet cleaner (we take turns when Scooter has an accident) for Father's day. Since he got such poopy presents, I made him breakfast with his special Grandma Broadbent's country pork sausage, Southeastern mills biscuits and gravy, and eggs, AND did all the kitchen cleanup. He really enjoyed that!
Perfect weather for playing in the dirt and walking Tumble. Made the whole pack walk Saturday. Yesterday Tumble and I walked farther down the powerline easment than we ever had before. Of course that means we had to walk back UP... Was pleased I only had to stop twice to catch my breath.
Lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
Meditate 8/30, knee exercises 9/30, 60 g protein 14/30, vits+rx 13/30, play with Tumble 5/30, AF 15/30, steps: Saturday=10578 Sunday=5932
Word for 2019: "GOOD" good attitude, good food, good times, good choices, good enough, feel good, GOOD! Word for June might be equilibrium.

Kelly - does this mean you won't be taking Trentin on weekends and evenings? I am crossing my fingers it all works out for you - you deserve a better schedule that gives you more normal hours - and weekends off! Your home is already set up for it and there shouldn't be any problems with parking or traffic like if you had a retail business.
Barbara AHMOD - keeping the bear out of the trashcan? . Thankfully the only new wildlife in our neighborhood is a raccoon. So far the deer haven't hit the back yard and garden but let's not say that very loud, lol. The hornets are back this year, I removed 2 nests from the deck - one under the handrail and one UNDER the deck - the little buggers would climb up between the boards and kind of swarm around and Rosie got stung. I declared war, probably used half a can of spray but looks like I melted it. These are the bald faced mean, mean ones that sting just for the pleasure of it and make those big paper nests. Makes me appreciate the wasps that I see on flowers who are mostly content to mind their own business.
Lisa - kudos for going out of your comfort zone. I'm sure you'll be a hit - everyone will love chatting up with you.
Kate - thank you for posting the info about the umbrellas! Remarkable art! Glad your DH's face is getting better.
NYKaren- fresh local tomatoes! I can't wait - mine are at least a month away. We get a lot of produce from Eastern Washington where it's warmer and drier, I reckon they'll be trucking tomatoes over here before long. I channeled you this past week and prepared a huge container of veggies to snack on - cut up carrots, celery, cauliflower. I get a big tub of Sabra Hummus. Perfect snack, why it has taken me a couple years of hearing about it to actually DO it is a good question, lol.
Ok ladies, those stretches aren't going to do themselves, lol. Make it a great week!

After all these years of doing this and similar tasks, I am betting you have strategies for your drive that help ameliorate the dread of the upcoming meeting. Do you listen to music or tapes? Sing at the top of your lungs? Stop at a favorite place along the way? Call family & friends on your hands free phone? Drive in silence enjoying the scenery? None of the above?
When I was going to continuing education meetings regularly, I would always invite my partner to go along if she cared to, take the train whenever possible, pack EarPods/favorite healthy snacks/sleep mask, arrive a day early, and walk outside during all breaks, including lunch.
Just curious...

Busy Monday. Work. Arranging appointments. Podiatrist and new orthotics. Laundry. Chicken-veg curry started. Cycling Club President work.
I'm not convinced about the orthotics yet. I feel like the arch is too far back and I'm not sure if that's where it is supposed to be and my foot is "off" or if the orthotics are off.

Morning ladies, long time, no post. I’m trying to catch-up on your adventures reading posts, you ladies all lead such interesting lives.
Went for my 3 month weigh in at drs (gave my scale to Goodwill on purpose) down another 15 pounds. Total 44 lbs since Feb. 2019. I’m on keto and love it, especially for my brain and memory which has ramped up to Mach 5. After years of no fat, vegan, Jenny Craig, you name the diet, this is the first “lifestyle” change that has really worked! My brain needs fat, not sugar.
Turns out this is true for my Mom too. She is 84, with advanced Alzheimer’s, in a nursing home. They switched her to insulin from metformin and she is a new person. From someone who was lethargic, didn’t answer and was quiet as a mouse; she is now talking, bright eyed and bushy tailed. She even phoned me at home (she’s used the phone 1x in 4 years) at 6:00 am to ask me “What time is breakfast being served?” I could 🦀 a bit about why this took 4 years for the home to fix, but hey, no crying over spilled milk. I’m just grateful to modern science.
The last month has been non-stop activities at the nursing home, gardening, socializing and Raptors, Raptors, Raptors🥳. Been buying new clothes. Yipee! Life can be amazing, just stick with it, you’ll get there.
Debbie in VA I just squeal with delight whenever I see a Pom-Pom. I’ve had two and am simply crazy about them. Once I decide what to do about my knees (JR surgery for both), I’m definitely adopting another Pom.
Well, will chat with you all soon. Have a simply fabulous day!

Rebecca - Baby day/night mix up the sun naturally resets them.
1.At night when asleep make it dark no lights on just night light if need be a flashlight on low to find things....turn a hallway light on creak the door open a tad when changing diapers
2. Day always have Sun light during naps!!! Not full sun on them but the room needs to have any blankets over windows off. Needs to be brightly lit.
This naturally sets a persons body clock ⏰. Time of our birth effects sleeping too. Were born folks keep us up a few hours tons of visitors. Then sleep 😴 at an odd time of day. Has to be unlearned naturally like a Rooster to us sunlight through a window we think morning even if we’re sleeping in/afternoon naps. Lol feedings we’ll let baby feed when it wants that nonsense they have about hours to amount is ridiculous. Daughter drank more milk than JR she’s short skinny. JR drank more than the doctor said he’s skinny super tall other 2yr olds are 1/3rd his size. He feeds less when not hungry I allow baby to decide he’s done or not.If I feel he needed to wait cause his tummy looked extended (boredom feeding lol) I made him wait played with him.
No baby is like another so charts that say to everyone the same needs exactly this amount or things are going to leave issues that’s why every darn baby I meet I hear they have ANEMIA now! Their introducing solids too soon y stopping formula/breast going straight to cows milk without toddler milk vitamins to insure their getting their iron intake. We used Enfamil Toddler milk when he was old enough/Daughter Nido powder.
Keep an eye on weight/height a lot of baby products they outgrow the safety limit too soon when their healthy. Eczema they say introduce solids at 1yr plus.
Barbara SOC- I think I got a bag of Splenda unless I gave it to my Mother-in-law. JR loves cookies homemade so trying to make all of our recipes healthier. This is a permanent thing since JR a big boy who will be a bigger boy if School snacks aren’t to his liking yet healthy choices. Let’s face it kids doesn’t want broccoli 🥦 very often but you have a almond milk cookie with healthiest ingredients that’s better choice. I have an app to monitor his weight to calories he’s on maintain/gain . Dieticians are wonderful we make sure he’s getting a lot of vitamins he’s a fast grower so needs to meet his goal daily for rapid bone growth.JRs refuses to drink milk but will eat milk/almond milk products plus he’s on vitamin D.Other app also has a Dieticians on top of his baby one.
Storm today. Steaming food being good 1/2 restaurant plates 2days is enough back on track no weight gain I maintained.

Janetr: Happy first anniversary to your grandson. Sorry about the tree damage.
Heather: Thank you for your kind words.
Barbie: I’ve watched the Great British Baking show on PBS for years. I’ve had more trouble finding it lately. It is fun to see them at work, but nothing they cook is food we could eat without severe digestive problems for one or the other of us. No real butter in my world, and no wheat flour in DH’s world. :ohwell:
Pip: Love your dog photo. Was that at the Vet’s office? Our long time Vet has evidently sold his practice to some women who think we should pay quarterly fees whether our dog needs an appointment or not. If they institute this policy we’ll be looking for a new vet.
Yoga today and I need to get going or miss out. Have a great day!

@Machka9 it says mfp "calculates automatically based on your daily goal, you just pick what day to start the 7 days from."settings, weekly nutrition settings on the app."
but I don't see weekly nutrition settings under settings!0 -
Bead owl,we used to breed and raise German shepherds.I miss having those big, lovable babies around.8 months after our last shepherd passed away,we adopted our girl. I do admit, they steal your heart.

Karen in VA - oh, yes, I actually like the driving part. Hands-free calls with my younger sister and with my best friend (in order according to how early I leave, one's an early riser, one is not) and lots and lots of Public Radio in between. In another job, where my husband actually could take vacation, he went on a number of business trips with me. These days, not an option.
Regards,
Lisa in AR4 -
@spikeyhair glad I'm not alone.
@Machka9 awesome that you need no splurges!
@auntiebk I thought of the salt. we'll see! sounds like perfect presents for Joe!
sent off my 100 pages today! glad to be over with that; have 150 more to do, but I"m making headway. and can take a little breather; do other big deadline in writing immediately !3 -
