@autumnblade75 What a great color!

My goals for 2020 are to stay injury free and healthy. I am also possibly going to try again for my first half marathon.
February goal : 70 miles
Plan goal: 76 miles
2/1 - 6 miles
2/3. - 3 miles
2/4 - 2 miles
Monthly total - 11 miles
I have been having some knee pain so I switched to my new pair of Hoka Arahi's to check if it's my shoes and of course it is. Not sure if it's a good or a bad thing. I am only getting about 150 miles out of them before I need new ones which seems really low. If this keeps up, I'm going to need a second job just to stay in running shoes.
Races:
March 14:
St. Malachi 2 mile and 5 mile
May 16:
Cleveland Marathon Half and 5k
June 13 - 14:
Run and Ride Cedar Point 5k and Quarter Marathon

polskagirl01 wrote: »@Avidkeo maybe the Brooks I wear are wider in that part of the foot. They're definitely more comfortable. Although at one point I had a different model of Asics that also seemed to fit better. They were in a higher price range than the current ones. I was also running downhill when it started, so the pressure had probably also shifted slightly to a different part of my foot.
@LoveyChar you are right that some of it is probably muscle, because I am almost fine with how I look in the mirror, but generally the weight came on when I cut back on running and started pigging out because "I'm in taper mode" and "I just ran a marathon" mode. I've got a weight range I like to stay in, and am almost back into it.
brooks are wider. asics are narrow. saucony are wider. altras are inbetween. i haven't found my merrels to be too narrow either.
i know brooks and saucony are wider because my feet are borderline. and i got fitted for them and was told by the store people they were wider. i can't wear asics because they are too narrow. i was fitted for the altras too.4 -
02/02 8km
04/02 5km
Total 13km of 70km for February
The weather was perfect, but a bit chilly, this morning. I've been going out around half-seven two days a week, before work, since the beginning of January and it's been awesome noticing the sun being higher in the sky at the same time each successive run. When I first started I would just be getting home as dawn broke. This morning it was blinding me as I ran back!
Goals for the year:
1. Get back down to a decent running weight (currently set at 160lb)
2. Run a sub-60 minute 10K
3. Run at least 4 10K races
Current races planned:
14/06 Lincoln 10K
??/10 Autumn Richmond Riverside Run8 -
alright, it just got real.
i registered for my 50k. and the trainer said she'll get a plan together in the next 24 hours or so.19 -

2.5 miles for the week so far
February To-Date / Target = 18.93 / 129 miles8 -
My running goals for 2020 are to build up endurance and speed while staying healthy. Strength goal - lose body fat and gain some muscle and work on flexibility.
February goal : 60 miles
Race: Cap 10K in April
Date/Distance:
2/1 - Yoga/strength day
2/2 – 7.1 miles
2/3 – Slow Flow Yoga
2/4 – 4.2 miles
Monthly total – 11.3 miles
Switched my run to today with warm weather because tomorrow we are going to drop and get some sort of odd, white stuff falling from the sky. Not a common thing down here in TX! I do not love the “dreadmill” but may have to do some miles on it the next few days.❄🙄

I was planning to run this morning but my knee is sore so maybe not. Regardless of that it is cold and really windy outside. At 8am it is only 44F and 38F with windchill! In So CA! This is crazy. Typically when we have Santa Ana winds they are hot and dry so this is really unusual for us. Tomorrow is going to be worse, looks like it will be 32 with the windchill but the winds won't be as bad.
I just went out with Hobbes and had to rescue his agility tunnel. We had put up a course for him yesterday and the tunnel was coming unmoored and blowing around. Felt like it was attacking me and Hobbes was sure it was 🤣
@MegaMooseEsq - yea for 3.99! I don't have to deal with ice and slipping but I am definitely more prone to tripping and falling when walking than when running and more so on the sidewalk than on the street or a path
@mbaker566 - I have found Asics to be the most narrow then Brooks and the Saucony and I can't wear any of them. I think Altras are wider than all of them or maybe they are just wider in the toe box where I need it. Topos are similar to Altras in the toe box but I find the heel is narrower so they fit better. Congrats on registering for your 50k! Guess we really need to nag you to run, run, run!5 -
2/1 10.03 miles
2/2 14.12 miles
2/3 14.46 miles
2/4 14.2 miles 645 days on the run13 -
February Goal: 100 Miles
2/2: 10.05 miles
16.07/100 miles completed for February
126.33/1000 miles for Run the Year Team Pavement Pounders
I ran 6 miles this morning. It was a pretty good run. I was expecting it to be about 57°F this morning and a cold front coming in later today, but the winds had already shifted and it was colder than expected at 45° feels like 38°-40°. It was good for running though. Now it is colder and kind of misty. We are expecting snow which I am hoping we don't get, so I don't know if I will run tomorrow or not. It will really depend. Part of me wants to be a badass and run in the snow, but most of me knows that if we do get snow it will probably be icy as well and I don't want to fall on my *kitten*. So I will just play it by ear. It's hard to believe that it was 80°F on Sunday. Gotta love Texas weather.
@shanaber Great job on your race and loved the report.
@emmamcgarity Glad your hamstring is healing so nicely!
@autumnblade75 Nice looking car! Glad you found one. I hate the car buying process, but it is so nice to get a new one when the old one is on it's last leg.
@mbaker566 50K! You got this!
@Tramboman I hate when it is perfect running weather on rest days and then bad weather on run days. I'm kind of thinking I should have run yesterday since tomorrow is predicted to be so bad.
2020 races:
5/16/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon6 -
yes, nag a way.
no one here does. they think i'm crazy.

Speedwork today followed by some strength training.
Getting ready for the 10K + race on Sat.
@mbaker566 Wow, good for you!
@autumnblade75 Nice set of wheels
@kgirlhart @Tramboman Same here - yesterday was perfect and of course my rest day. Lol
re wide shoes - yes, I've been wearing Brooks for the last 2 pair, and they are wide. The new New Balance ones I have are not as wide, I've been lacing them different and they seem to be ok. But I'm with you ladies, I need a wider toe box for sure. Especially now with my neuroma.

Ran today with a speedy friend. First half I was chatting away, but I think I got less conversational as we went, haha. It was a great run though.
I'm trying to front-load my week and then take Thursday-Friday to rest before Saturday's park run and night race. So I also swam 1000m yesterday and biked 12.5k today in addition to running. Is it bedtime yet?
February goal 100 miles (stretch goal 200 km)
Upcoming races:
Feb. 8 - Lublin night 10k10 -
@autumnblade75 congrats on the car. I know what you mean about "wasn't even on my 'makes and models to consider' list". More than once I have gone into a dealership with one or two models in mind, and drove away with something completely different. I guess I'm a pushover for a good deal. But most of the time it has worked out. Good luck with yours!
Right? I was specifically hoping to find something that worked in BLUE!
I think we just hadn't run across any of them on Cars.com in my price range. There are 14 others listed in a 20 mile radius, but they're all priced higher than mine, and I actually paid more than I really wanted to spend. Probably not more than I can afford, but I like to budget for the inevitable repairs.PastorVincent wrote: »quilteryoyo wrote: »@autumnblade75 Glad you found a car that you like. It looks really nice. Some cars use the rearview mirror as a screen for it.
The backup camera is definitely something that was added on later, by one of the 2 owners. The mirror doesn't function as a screen. This car is very basic in terms of extras. The manual includes instructions for operating the "heater (if so equipped)" and thankfully it is. There's a working radio, and it appears that a phone may be paired with bluetooth. I can also play music from an aux. jack, or a USB connection in the glove box. But there isn't even Cruise Control. I am pleased by the absence of a screen for the backup camera. I will be more pleased when I absent the camera from the car, as well. Did I mention that the rims (but not the tires) are the same size as the Aveo's? I'll be stealing my full-sized spare back from the trunk, and having a new tire mounted on it. It's a very economical 3 cylinder motor, and averages 38 mpg. The rear brakes are drums - but I can't have everything.
Thank you to everyone else who congratulated me and commented on the awesome green color.
I'm procrastinating about today's run. It's the long one. 15 miles. I need to go make it happen.

@mbaker566 Congratulations on signing up for a 50k! Big, big deal! I'm looking forward to reading/seeing your experiences with training and race day! Please do divulge...
@autumnblade75 Loving the cute car and the green is gutsy and beautiful for a ride!0
