One of the poops, uh er, pups has an icky tummy. Yesterday some disastrous diarrhea. Last night vomit and more diarrhea. Thought it was Shadow, but further investigation of her nether regions discovered it was Tumble. She ate nothing this morning (not unusual) but finally did eat a little this evening, but turned her nose up at a dog cookie she usually enjoys. Hoping for a more peaceful night’s sleep tonight.

Faye virus travels on gloves too. Best I can do is to bring a wipe in with me, keep it with my wallet, and wipe down the keypad or stylus or door handle or whatever I have to touch. Thinking to get some of that “veggie soap” to wash down produce I bring in, and to follow other’s practice of leaving dry goods outside in the sun and fresh air for a few hours before bringing inside. Most important is “Don’t touch your face” but that’s hardest for me. Has surgery been suggested for your glaucoma?
Rita besides spraying clove oil how will you encourage the rattler (and his family?) to evacuate? I’m shaking too! As for “What is Happening?” This from my goddaughter:

Michele, I’d have walked on water, no kidding! I’m truly impressed by your taking that job. No wonder you’re tired! I spritz my masks with white vinegar to which I’ve added a drop of essential thyme oil The vinegar and thyme are pretty strong smelling and the thyme oil is antiviral.

Our rv has needed lots of work. It is currently doing better than last year. I think the idea of driving a big RV from western Oregon to Virginia is a huge undertaking for the majority of healthy people. DH has diabetes & MS. He doesn’t have the energy to be in the driver’s seat for long days. I have not driven it very often but if we drive I will do my share.
Bottom line, he doesn’t want to go by car or rv & he doesn’t want to fly. I want to go for the sake of our son & his wonderful family. We’re discussing what to fo.3 -

No, I'm pretty sure they don't know that you've snoozed them. Same with unfollowing. I wouldn't be surprised if people snooze me from time to time! Too much talk about bicycles and brain injury!

After a cool but relatively nice week, winter is making a comeback this weekend. Windy with showers, snow down to 500 metres. They're predicting as much as 30 mm (1.18 inches) of rain over about 48 hours.
But it is still winter. Spring doesn't happen until September 1!!
So we might get on our indoor bicycles and Zwift! We'll see.

Faye: oh wow, that is a big limitation. I haven't traveled more than 200 miles per day since October. I only went to the coast which is less than 200 miles away. I'm sorry about that.That must keep you close to the land. I am not that big on travelling these days. It's a must for me to go see family and friends and my homeland in the usa, from to time, so far, but I find more and more tiring.3

GLOVES AND GEL
I went to buy some masks upon doctor's orders at time of confinement since I had a slight cough. none available but the lady before me bought 100 latex gloves. so I bought some. I used them in the beginning to open door when I went out for a walk or go food shopping but finally I agree with the video posted above. it's easier (or rather still necessary) to wash hands with gloves on between touches, so the gloves don't do much. I carry gel and I don't remember to use it all the time but use it plenty when I stop some place.i'm glad when they have it available at shops and restaurants (most do). The hotel I was at didn't have gel available anywhere and I find that a real lack.they could charge an extra 2 euro surcharge for extra cleaning products (my hairdresser charges an extra 2 euros for covid cleaning of chairs between cuts and disposable paper smocks) and no-one would complain. Of course I wash hands much more than before but I'm not perfect long term.3 -
I did NOTHING yesterday. I lazed and then realised it was to be a very hot day and lazed some more. it didn't feel great way to spend the day but today is another day! Weight is up from this time last year but in a down fluctuation at least from some recent months and weeks. I didn't limit eating much when out but ate rather healthily: cereal in morning, fish dish for lunch and bought things like rice cakes carrot juice, cucumber, and the occasional small scoop of sorbet...

August goals revisitedFinancial Goals:
-As close as possible to zero-based budget. I have to check.i didn't spend a ton but hotel and eating out cost something.Transport was very cheap.200 euros car rental, 32+20 train,4.50 bus
-No need to transfer money from one account for living or holiday expenses. so far so good!
- Check what's going on in partially stock-based savings (i know close to nothing about stocks). (I know it had lost 90% COVID) but i see every thing is tanking and maybe i need to sell and put into cash---), not yet
- keep making progress on filing not yet since not home
- Pay bills one
- follow up rental repair (mild water damage last august, slow to solve partially due to covid) not yet not home
Spiritual Goals:
-meditate 5 min per day some days
Health Fitness Goals:
-Walk w heart rate monitor at least 3x a week, (w/rate above 115 for 20 min or so) (no more gyms here for the foreseeable future). not during vacation.i brought it and wore it once
-Track all and aim to lose 0.4 k per week. (a bit less than a pound) haven't tracked much at all. but weight is down, or fluctuation down 0.8k from aug 1. (1.7 pounds)
- Get progressive glasses. (finally, i've been able to get by without glasses for reading till now, but it gets tough on very fine print). not yet.
- Get hiking sandals or something close.They were out of my size when I went to buy some. I managed very well between sneakers, hiking sneakers and flip-flops
Educational Goals:
-Work 4h a day on thesis after 2 week vacation break starting, so from Aug 19 not yet! need to start today right?
-read one of the novels I bought Aug 3. not done

Family and loved ones Goals:
-Read sister's emails not yet
-Go to exhibit and do a writing session with M. not yet
-Meet up with friend.s at 1x a week. I was away so I chatted and hung out some with people I met and stayed at a friends one night. oh yes, at the mini-house near the forest I went for a little walk in the forest with the hostess both mornings and we had coffee and watched for stars together one evening.
Career Goals:
-Send email to required address for training period I got a mail saying it's not necessary! yay!
-Disconnect till August 19 at least pretty good job at that
-Update website not at all
Home Goals
- follow up repair water damage (here too) slowed due to COVID b] not at all[/b]
-order big shelving unit to stock my masses of papers (for thesis, teaching etc) (ikea online) picked them out but didn't ordre yet since I wasn't sure of return date
-maybe; order smallish sofa bed went to check out but didn't order for same reason
-order small, round dinner table (ikea online) was out of stock
-Get rid of Japanese divider if not fixed by end of august (very useful but fragile and broken) I keep wanting to fix it but I never get to it.1 -

Thanks Faye for the vestibular test. I got DH to do it this morning and he walked in a straight line. So did I.
Then we did the balance test of standing on one leg with your eyes shut. He found that much more difficult, but managed the average for his age, (nearly 75) - 3 seconds. He is resuming his balance exercises every morning. I managed 16 seconds Which puts me below 40 yrs. I do several balance exercises every day and have done for years.
Then I decided to do the sit down/stand up test. How many can you do in a minute. Anything above 36 is good. I did 45. So I will carry on with my daily exercise routine. Whenever I've done a test, heart rate recovery etc, I've come out in my late 40s. Long may it continue!
DH has aged quite a lot in the last 9 months. I really notice it. And he is a fitness fanatic. He is 4 years older than me and I can see how deterioration accelerates with age.
That frightens me a bit and I can see why covid affects the old so badly.
I have felt psychologically older since all this started.
Yesterday DH did a 2hr Killer Sudoku in 15 mins,so he's still got a few brain cells.
