What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

I was never fat, was in good shape till I was 20-21 because of overexercising at the gym and then I quit and blew up overnight and the little male attention I used to get stopped too. So now I wanna get into shape to meet a nice guy coz I'm bored of being single10

My petty reason.. A lot of family members that were overweight had the surgeries and now they are thin. I feel out of place in most places, and I don’t like it. I want to do this naturally and prove to my family that I’m not a failure 😞20

My main reason to lose weight is health, and I'm doing this for myself.
As far as pettiness goes, I'm tired of being the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend or, in my case, Dumb Ugly Fat Friend - that's how I've been made to feel by others around me). If nothing else, at least I want to switch that F from Fat to Fit. So far, so good. I'm not there yet but I'm much closer than I was when I started.20 -

This is what very well could and will happen. You'll lose weight and realize how strong you are. you will look incredible, but realize; you're the same loving deserving person that used to be overweight and you were married to man who never truly saw you..and loved you. The stronger fit you simply will move on to higher ground. Do it for you honey. He's history and you're gong to find a true love.13 -
I'm 33. I got called aunty by a 28 year old chick . Ugh feeling so angry 😣12

@Frompumpkin2cinderella Where I’m from “aunty”, is a compliment. It CAN denote age, but usually it’s not meant in a negative way. I’m curious what “aunty” means in your neck of the woods?3

Well, I'm not in your culture, but in my culture, one possible interpretation would be that she views you as someone strong, mature, admirable, and worthy of the respect she'd give someone older than herself/yourself.
But what do I know: I call myself an "internet auntie" and "internet granny" pretty often, in a joking way, as an attempt to reassure people that I mean well and wish them well, even when I'm being a little bit frank and lecture-y. 😉 (I'm way older than you, 65, and genuinely gray-haired. It's a great time of life, in my world - especially as a survivor of advanced-stage cancer . . . I don't know why people diss age so much.)11 -
Coworker have been trying to get us to join her MLM weight loss scheme. She's been losing some weight, but at the same time she's complaining about how much money she spends on small packets of shakes and terrible soups each weeks.
I told her that anyone would lose weight if they ate around 1000 calories a day. So now I'm losing weight on 1500 calories a day and eating actual food while she complains about her shakes.9 -
So at some point I'm going to see my ex-husband again. Naturally I want to make it clear how fabulous my life is now. Part of that is having a lot less of me. He never would let me diet; it set off massive insecurities in him. So I just want to prove that just like having a messy house, having a fat *kitten* is something that only happens when I'm with him. Not with my new guy.15

I really admire you. You're my mom's age and seeing you here rock your biceps in your DP inspires me to work hard. I think I'm gonna talk to my mom about importance of fitness at an advanced age!
About age- I come from a very agist society. Here aunty is also used my 'boys'(won't call these immature idiots men) to insult women as to imply that we are over the hill and should sit and home and knit and pray! It really sucks5 -
Two reasons: I don't want to be a size 18 in my clothes.
Second one: I have a milestone birthday coming up in 2023 and I want to do a dream vacation that has a fitness rating of five.9 -
If and when I get married I want my future hubby to be able to carry me in his arms13

I'm getting married in the foreseeable future (thanks COVID for foiling our plans! on the bright side I have extra time to meet my goal~) and I want to have all eyes on me on my wedding day12

After being fat and happy for many years in a long term committed relationship, I now face the prospect of dating as I approach 50. I know that physical appearance isn't everything, but I'm far from where I'd like to be.15

I no longer fit into some of my favorite clothes, including a vest that completes several of my outfits.9

I want to look good naked. I want to throw on that bikini from high school. I want to stop wearing these oversized hoodies. I just want to look hot again!8
-
I want to stop feeling the jiggle/wobble of my belly when I go up/downstairs or move quickly. It's rather disconcerting.
Also still on the weigh less than my husband plan. I've been 5-6 lb heavier than him for a while but he is also trying to lose weight as well.

The smaller cycling shorts are cheaper.5

I want to wear a bikini (I've never wore one)12
