not an early start today. so went to the café which often gets me more in gear.

Ran into V who was very happy after her open house on Saturday. She must be in her mid-early 40S and she started a small school (higher ed) for just 20 students at a time- in a niche area- 10 years ago - so they were celebrating it - getting through those 10 years and surviving as a young school, etc.

At the café à just got a quick coffee on a stool a bar. The manager offered me a free coffee today.... I think it's because I've been coming nearly every day for 3 months! :)

Not a big deal, just 1.40 euro, but it's uplifting to be welcomed at my usual café. Then walked to the cemetery sat there (in the sun with myself quite covered up and with hat and sunscreen on neck face and hands, and sketched a bit.

Ran into my friend, V. as I was going to the café and she was coming from café and we chatted a bit. She was happy about the 10 year celebration open house for her school.

Now 6 hours left before zoom meeting tonight.

I guess I will: 15 min clean, 15 min meditate, 4h minimum write/read related to writing.

Call A. Call dentist. 15 min on recumbant.

Going out for tiny walk and sitting in very sunny autumn weather is very uplifting.

    FOOD
Bought some broccoli, blueberries, beets, a peach, and a cuke.... and then had LATE breakfast as per my relative intermittent fasting.

My most common approach at present is: a piece of fruit around maybe 10 or 11, then "breakfast" - at around 12 or 1. ( soy yogurt/milk and high/highish protein unsweetened cereal, often fruit and sometimes seeds, with nutmeg or cardamon or vanilla or something like that often), because I like do okay with not eating till later but I really like breakfast and it likes me. Then a meal with protein and veggies later on...
Try to stave off the starch but it's a struggle almost every day at present!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to drink a lot of herb tea in evenings I guess I could take to that again. I remember stopping maybe 10 years back cause I always had to pee at night! but maybe that is better than too much starch ---- if I'm able to pop back to sleep as I was back then...

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday! It must be bang season. I have also been contemplating having a long bang cut into my hair. Maybe get some long layers put in as well. I don't like the bangs and layers in the summer, because I like to have my hair up and off my face when it is hot and humid. I can cut a long bang. Lots of videos on Youtube and with a long bang there is a LOT of room for error. lol
Michele- I love that mermaid! Is she going to be back by the pool? She can surely be topless there, and not offend any one? What colors are you thinking of painting her? I have always liked the look of the mermaids from the movie Hook. I also think keeping her skin in watery greens or blues would be lovely, too. I am sure she will be beautiful whatever look you choose to give her!
Pip- Your trip looks so relaxing! Yogi is such a great dog. He seems to enjoy whatever you plan for him. Love the little mini yogi statue!
Kylia- So happy you were able to relax, get a massage. Sorry your work environment is so stressful. Family can be a pain to have around; not to mention to work with, as well.
Katiebug- WHAT, pray tell, is a naked smoothie?
Beth and Allie-Glad you both are getting some rest and letting the healing happen! You both are in my thoughts often!
Carol- Your hair is adorable! I love the color on you! Your granddaughter is getting so big! Loved the pics you posted to facebook!
Machka- I LOVE to have someone shampoo and fuss with my hair! I remember, as a kid, watching my grandmas go to the salon every week, to have their hair "done". Now that I am older, I am sure they did this, just to have that wonderful shampoo and someone play with their hair. Once in a while I let my childcare kids play with my hair. lol It is a wonder I am not bald. The last time, the boys put legos and magnatiles in my hair.

Well, it is Tuesday (one of my busier days) so I better scoot and get things ready for kids. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Hairdressers love to play with my hair. I had my hair trimmed (3 or 4 inches off) about a month ago and the hair dresser just kept adding product and combing and running her hands through my hair. Finally she said, "I guess I'd better stop playing with your hair and let you get back to work". This one did something similar!

I haven't had a professional shampoo in years and it was great! I think I might get that the next time I go to my usual place. :)

Bangs ... I grew my bangs out when I was about 22 and never had the desire to cut them back in.

This is me in 1988 with what was probably the last of my bangs ...

:) I cut my own bangs and they look fine to me even though they aren't perfect. I don't see many people in person and on Zoom, the pictures are small so I'm sure no one notices and if they do, they don't care.

:)Michele, the mermaid is great. If someone doesn't like her like that, they don't have to come to your house.

    :)Pip, your trip sounds awesome

    :)Carol, your hair looks great

:) In preparation for planting the eight expensive iris bulbs I bought last spring (they arrived about two weeks ago), I looked on the Breck's website to match the names with the colours so now every site I open on the computer is full of iris pictures in hope that I'll order more of them. I have to remind myself that I already have plenty.

:) Dogs are quietly sleeping next to me to be sure I don't forget to take them out for their after breakfast walk.

    Tuesday --

Long day today and one of the more stressful ones because my husband had yet another specialist assessment in the afternoon. Those are always stressful for both of us although I am starting to get used to hearing, he will never improve, he will never return to work, he will never drive, etc.

However this morning was interesting. I was a model for a young lady in a hairdressing course! She needed to do a blunt straight cut on someone with long or longish hair for an assessment so ... I offered my hair!

I got a shampoo, trim and a little bit of a set and her instructor told her it was well done so I think she passed her assessment. :)

I'm sorry about your husband's assessment. Though you are used to it, it must not be uplifting to hear. Nice about the haircut!

It's definitely not where we hoped to be in life.

It's hard for my husband too because he doesn't fully understand that he has a brain injury, or the severity of it.

    Carol--Love the new hair color.

    Kylia--Hugs!!

Julie--I find friends like that just suck the life out of me. I have gotten good at limiting my contact.

Michele--I am excited to see how you paint the mermaid.

DH got to spend several hours yesterday in the ER. He should of went in Saturday, but won't go until the doctor told him to. They did all these tests as his blood pressure was high and had chest pressure that woke him up Saturday morning. Also his left eye is numb. They said it is a reaction to his 2 Covid shot and sent him home to rest, but if doesn't feel better or gets worse to come back. So yesterday was a very stressful day.

I am having a dept meeting this afternoon and I am afraid it is not going to be fun. Have to go over some changes and explain again the way somethings are done. I get so tired of going over the same stuff over and over. The good news is the one lady I interviewed last week has accepted the job and should start Oct 18th, so that is good news.

Sunday DH and I were at Walmart and looking at Halloween stuff. Saw some bright blue temporary hair color. So decided next month when we go to Iowa to visit our son and family we will use it before we go. It should be fun.

Rebecca - Have you done the Epley manoeuvre.? It works immediately on DH. Instant cure for horrible vertigo. I did it on him after watching YouTube videos by doctors. Your husband would have to do it to you. We bought a collar to keep his head up afterwards. It works like magic. Instant.

Epley maneuver-performed on a real patient suffering from vertigo. YouTube. Bob and Brad.

I will try to get him to do this.👍💖

Today was not a gym day. I feel still off balance, and my head aches, but not as sore as yesterday. No swirls last night. I think what brought on my vertigo were my two baths I took that night, when my abdomen was so tight feeling. I was lying down in the tub, and putting my neck in weird positions, plus my ears were in the water. So maybe some sort of pressure? Anywhoooo, its subsiding.
Thanks for the hugs and positives. I eat them like candy. 💖👍 Its always nice to be thought of in this world.

    Absolutely knackered. :p

The lunch with my friends went really well, but of course my perfectionism woke me up at 5 and I didn't sleep well before that.
It was worth it to see them. He has terminal lung cancer and nearly died recently from pneumonia, so we did our lateral flow tests first thing. Nice chat for four and a half hours.
Then we rushed off to pick up Bea from school. Played in the playground, then took her home. Other two arrived from music lessons and we gave Edie her birthday presents a couple of days early
She had chosen the clothes. She seemed delighted
Walked home and picked up a pre- ordered mushroom pizza on the way. Had it with green salad and a glass of Pinot Noir. :p
Now v tired. But happy. Looks like we will be picking Bea up on Tuesdays for the foreseeable future, unless we have other plans. Their student has gone home to Italy.
It's good to feel useful and it is not a rigid commitment.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Did a step DVD but a shorter one than I had planned, the since it was drizzling out did a walking DVD. I do find that with the walking DVD’s I have to walk longer to get the same amount of steps in that I would get in when I walked around the block. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Billy’s Boot camp DVD.

Tracey – to be honest, I find ceramics to be very relaxing. Plus, everyone is so very nice. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll find it the same way. Another lady is going to pour me some shells to cover her “endowed” area, but I might wind up having to buy some shells to get ones that are big enough

Remember I told you we had to replace the door to the condo? Well, the saga continues. First he cut the door down 2” too short. He insists that he’s been doing this for 40 years (except it wasn’t him who installed the door). Now water is leaking down into our condo and water is again leaking to the condo below us. Well, the manager of the condo building said that he took a step ladder to our condo and looked at the top of the door. He said there is caulking but in his words, “a piss poor job”. Randy (the manager) caulked around the bottom of the door frame just so that water no longer leaks below us. I know Vince is going to write a letter to the BBB complaining. They KNEW we were going to be installing a storm door, so why did they cut it so low that a standard storm door won’t fit? So I guess we shall see what happens. Right now Vince just called Randy and this guy is there. I’m sure Randy will get back to us. My guess is that this guy is just going to put more caulk above the door and declare it fixed. Update: Randy said the guy admitted that it was a poor installation and the guy is going to (get this) put in new molding. Well, Vince called the guy and told him that Lowe's will need to put in new molding and raise it 2" so Vince doesn't want him to put the molding exactly where it is now but 2" up. He also told him that although he doesn't know how much damage there was to the inside of our condo, but he is holding the guy responsible for any damage.

Julie – ever since the lockdown I find that I, too, don’t wear makeup as much as I used to. I used to wear a tiny bit every day, now only if I’m going somewhere special. Like I’ll put a little on since we’re going to ceramics tonight

M – I once helped a cosmetology student. I had an updo and evidently they don’t have a lot of call for that. I wanted to get it done before Denise’s wedding to see how it would look. That was very nice of you to do for that girl

KJ – yes, that mermaid will go by the pool. Just about everything I do goes by the pool. Topless in the bible belt????? I don’t think that would help much. As it is, they turn her around at ceramics….lol I’m thinking that her fin/tale/whatever you call it will be green. Actually, she doesn’t have a lot of different colors, of course most of the skin will be beige. She’ll have red hair. I think the red hair will be a nice compliment to the green fin. I will buy a bottle of paint and use it on her and give the rest to the ceramics place since I’ll need so much. I’m thinking that on top of the green I’ll put a coating of this stuff called “mother of pearl” which will give the green a sort-of shimmery look to it.

Vicki – I hope your husband gets better fast. I’m a bit surprised that any reaction to the shot would last this long

The other day I was at Food Lion to buy milk and mentioned to this one girl that I do miss some of the people and I’m looking for something else. She said she missed me and that she would talk to the store manager. Well, I guess he talked to Amanda and she messaged me on FaceBook wondering if I was looking to come back. I told her that I was looking for something else, and that I would be open to returning since I did miss some of the people but that I won’t do cleaning. I told her that organization and helping the customer is my strength, that to me is what makes a job enjoyable. I told her that she can contact me at home and I gave her my number if she’s interested. So who knows where that’ll go? I WILL NOT work beyond 12. I really feel that I want to spend time with Vince. Plus, we have bowling on Mondays at 12:30 (they just changed it to sooner). I like being able to schedule things (like MD appts) in the afternoon. So we shall see. In the meantime, I’ve applied at Burger King so I’ll probably go there tomorrow just to follow up with the application and stop at Home Depot. Every time I apply online I get a message that my email is invalid, only that’s my email. Well, what’s meant to be is what’s meant to be.

Went with Vince to get his allergy shot then went to the Salvation Army to make a small donation (and, of course, go in the store). Then Aldi since the peaches they had the other day were cling free and I wanted more to freeze. Only what they had now is cling. I’m glad I took a knife with me and cut one open (I bought that one) and found out that it was a cling which I didn’t want. Then had to go to WalMart for chili powder. I thought Aldi carried it. Now have chili in the crockpot cooking.

Vicki – yesterday we went to Lowe’s and got (yes) Christmas decorations. What we thought were nutcrackers were toy soldiers but they’re better than the ones we have so we’ll keep them. We’ll most likely sell the other ones. Also got this blow mold of a Christmas tree. Something different

    Dinner then ceramics.

    Michele NC
