    1. November: leaner/stronger/kinder than October.
    2. Chose well: not quite 3 hrs lopping brush, lifting into burn barrel, veg prep, made up Tues line dancing
    3. Bonus: made eye Dr. appt, sent records request to old dr.
    4. Just one thing:
    5. November 12: Find out something new about someone you care about: means I have to listen!
    6. 13: Do something playful outdoors - walk, run, explore, relax: dog group? Yesterday’s burn barrel?
Took the opportunity provided by the new way of doing spoilers, to streamline a little. “Get to do’s” and daily stats moved out of what I post, saving to monthly document for review. Change can be good.

Lisa sad and angry about your daughter’s situation. Damglad she has you on her side, and sounds like her command structure too. While its always sad to see a marriage go down the drain, escaping from a controlling, toxic relationship is survival for herself and her children. Couragia!
Rori, KJ, Machka, Margaret, Beth and Vickie ((hugs))
Karen finally was able to submit request to allow users to customize background color and save to profile when I got trapped in the help thread and could find no way back either to the community or the food diary. ??? Added that to my request :naughty: Using web on a Windows 10 laptop, browsing in Waterfox with all scripts temporarily allowed. Thanks for the medicare advantage add, somehow I had Martha Stewart in my mind…
Heather like KJ I’d love to pop out for a potato, but then we’d have to put up with neighbors and traffic. Next spring I’ll plant ‘em. I love brandy soaked fruitcake made with glace fruit. The only dried fruit in my recipe are dates, raisins and currants. Haven’t made it in years since I’m the only one who’ll eat it.
Suebdew, that’s quite a come back!
Carol your insight about Lisa’s son-in-law sounds right on point.
Michele when you go on mfp from your tablet are you logging in? Are you using an app or the web? Sounds like you might just be getting to the public food database and not getting into your profile.
Machka I don’t want to change my Windows display settings, all my other apps and web pages are fine. It’s just mfp forums that are eye-abrading. BBC code back? :

Yes!!! Hooray!!! A six week vacation sounds like just the rx for you and your DH. Would your company give you leave? Sounds like the perfect song choice for that task  And sure they count! I’m counting lopping and lifting brush into the burn barrel…
Tracey, if the joy of decorating with your daughter doesn’t give you the energy you need, then plop your butt into a chair and be the director – hang that there! A little to the left!! Perfect!!! Whatever, enjoy the time with your DD.

Whoops! Where does the time go? Joe’s up, time to sit with him a bit.

    Lighter, lovelies!

    Not likely.
    It's just a wish.

But in 2 years I'll have access to my long service leave, so maybe then.

I spoke to my doctor today. She was 2.5 hours past our scheduled time when she called, her husband tested positive for Covid today so she had to leave the office and go for a test herself. She called me from her home. I just love her.
I had gone since March without having a cycle and was hoping it was just done. On Oct 20th I started spotting and it has only gotten heavier daily since. When reading what was “normal” on Wednesday I found that I should notify my doctor after more than a week, hence the appointment today. She called in two prescriptions for me, if one doesn’t stop it in 3-4 days I’m to start the second one. She is concerned about my iron levels and told me to eat lots of meat right now.
I am hoping that next year I am healthier than I have been this year.

You might ask about getting a full ultrasound, including internal.

Abnormal bleeding was the reason I eventually saw a doctor ... about 3 weeks later I was in surgery to remove a huge polyp which was diagnosed as pre-cancer. And I went through it all again 2.5 years later.

I put up with abnormal bleeding for about a year and a half before I got fed up. If I had gone in earlier the first time, it might have been solved earlier.

Barbara and KJ - That is the main reason we moved to Hove. I hated having to get in a car to buy a pint of milk. Here I can walk everywhere or get a bus. Delivery once a fortnight. I have not been in a car for more than a mile for nearly two years. And rarely that. Doctor at the end of the road. Dentist not much further. Hospital a bus ride away. I just love that secure feeling. Plus the sea at the end of the road. Very quiet.
    Best decision I ever made!
My only fear is that one of our direct neighbours might sell up, or decide to do a big refurbishment. Ugh! A long cruise or rental in France might beckon! :p

My son has now booked the builders for the big house refurbishment. They are not doing it next year because Max is going up to secondary school. In fact, the earliest time available is spring 2023. :o:o It will give them time to save a bit more towards it.

Found this pic of me in an old album. I think I must be around 10 years old.

until they get this android thing fixed I guess I'll be on here and there.. I sure do hope they get it fixed within a reasonable amount of time.
Lisa- Im so sorry to hear about your son in law doing that to your daughter..yes she has alot of thinking to do. and glad she has you and Corey in her corner.
my patio is full of leaves again so will let them dry out and blow them all out again ,and hopefully that will be it until next fall..
I have ordered more stuff of of Babylist for my daughter, I cant get it all and wish I could but have put a good dent in it.. her bosses got them the expensive car seat and a playmat they wanted and her co-worker got her a few things, her aunt and uncle got a fancy video baby monitor and stand and bathtub..
some of the other things she doesnt really need until the little guy is a bit older, but she is keeping them on the list so she remembers what they are.
today ill get laundry done , and get fresh sheets on the bed..and get the garbage out to the dumpster.

If white bothers you, you can always change to a black background. Several people at work prefer to work that way. There are a number of different display settings on computers these days for different issues.

The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.

Right click on your desktop and you'll get a menu that looks something like this:

    3djchwvy1nwr.png

Choose Display Settings. In the search bar type: Ease of Access and High Contrast.

There are other ways of getting to that point as well like the search under your start menu.
Or if you know where Settings is, find it and then choose Ease of Access.

Once you get to High Contrast, turn it on. Then you'll have some theme choices. Pick one you like and Apply it.

    wzrcov47c5vm.png

If you choose Colour Filters from the menu (right above High Contrast), you can choose Greyscale which greys everything. Or Inverted which makes the white backgrounds black.

There are things you can do with themes, brightness, etc. as well. You can find those under System and Display.

I've got mine set so that the night light comes on at midnight and turns everything sort of a pinkish colour. At work, it comes on at 4:30 pm.

HEATHER - how awesome for your book and for your marriage

    LISA - Thank you!

TRACEY and MACHKA and KELLY (and any others) I tire very easily these days too!

MACHKA you have a heavy load with full time work, commute and DH to care for in some ways. it's understandable that you be tired. It's not only the glare - it looks like comments are floating in space and I don't find it as pleasant as in a box. Though there may be an aspect of habit involved.

    MICHELE
    "anything in particular?
I dunno. It feels a mix between physical and emotional I guess. I have to say that when I feel okay physically I tend to feel okay emotionally over all... but there may be some crossover!

    Relatively brief today.

Going to do inventory and state of repair session very shortly for departing renter today. (I
have 2 tiny rental studios). This one is a pain. He seemed a nice guy and paid his rent no problems. No problem whatsoever for a year.

Then after 14 months he had bedbugs. This can happen is is no one's fault.

But there are no other bedbugs in the building and it would seem, in that case that the renter is responsable, in reality.

Law would seem to put responsibility on the owner, unless I can "prove that he had irresponsable behavior" (which is ridiculous as a term and impossible to prove).

He was very accusatory, and panicked and left and gave his 1 month notice. I asked him to treat it with diatomic powder (which works well) which he did, but he was freaking out and insisted that I get in specialists to do a very toxic treatment, so I did that (2x required, to be efficient.) because there was the risk that if it spread in the building I could be blamed.

The new sofa bed pretty much has to be replaced as it is full of stains as he let it get highly infested before notifying it. I wonder if he hadn't subletted it!

The technicien doing erradication said there in no way he could have slept months with so many bedbugs without noticing it. (he is a young healthy student) A mystery!

I had to spend time and money on eradication and much stress, with all his calls and mails.

And will likely have to replace new sofa bed. There is at present a 6 week wait or so for sofa beds. which means no rent for 6 weeks!

I didn't want to order it before doing the inventory and state of repair. I want to see if he is going to clean and try to clean the sofa or leave it with stains. He is really into fighting to defend himself

. Since I had to go to his place 2x I saw his sort of big paper on the wall that looked like it came from feedback to him from others during a workshop - on his strengths and weaknesses.

It said something about being a "fighter" as one of the main things. That is definitely the impression I got.

He seems to be determined not to spend a penny. He spoke about mental and physical distress that he had to bear due to bedbugs and shortly after I found those terms in a legal text on the subject.

He reminds me of a past renter I had who was pre-law. She seemed to enjoy being litigious.
I had not seen him to be thus till now.
For example, he tossed the comforter and sofa cover rather than cleaning them. He will aim to not be responsable for anything.

I don't know if it's money (I kind of doubt it), his family pushing him this way, his wanting to win, or wanting to feel that it can't be his fault this thing... It doesn't really matter.

It usually takes a good hour and he said he was bringing "a friend" which is very rare and sounds more litigious.

I need some painting done in the bathroom closet so maybe I can get it done while waiting the 6 weeks for the new sofa...

Thank goodness the new renter in the other place is the exact opposite. His dad, a landlord wanted to note nearly every speck of dust on the entrance inventory and state of repair but then also offered to fix several things that needed fixing free of charge (except the cost of 95 e or so for a faucet, with receipt.)

Just have to roll with it. Jumping on my scooter now and going.
    .

They seem to have put the easy spoiler button back. Yay!

    At the top ...

It says something about viewing the page in English (or a language of your choice) then below that there's a line that says Home and Motivation and Support.

    Tap Home.

You might then have links along the top.

If not, check the right sidebar and choose Invite Friends.

That should get you where you want to go.

Did Biggest Loser Workout 2 DVD. Then went to see if I could donate plasma (I can’t), stopped at WalMart on my way home, now making cookies for Colby. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Bob Harper Inside Out DVD. I didn’t like to go to the gym on the weekends because it’s usually busy, but I may have to change my routine now. Perhaps they aren’t real busy early in the morning.

One thing that I wish this new format did was take you back to your last post. It takes you to the last page.

Barbie – thanks for telling me that about finding the bookmarks. I usually scrolled down to the bottom of the page, but now I won’t have to do that

Tracey – I just hated when I was done and then like 10 months later it starts up. I do hope everything works out for you

Now making a pumpkin raisin bread to take to Jess and Colby

Barbara – I don’t do any type of formal log in. As a matter of fact, I can’t even find WHERE you would log in. Now today I just checked to see where I might log in, I can add another food. Why is it that sometimes I can and other times I can’t? I’ll wait for a time when I can’t and see if there’s a place where I can log in. I know that I can’t seem to access the database to add a new food (one that I’ve never had before) but I can add foods that I’ve had before. That must be a feature for premium members. But that’s ok

Julie – can you order the sofa bed and when it comes in store it somewhere so that you can put it in and not have to wait the 6 months?

Well, she’s finished. It seems that the majority of people opted for the colorful shells. Wish more on here had responded. Oh well...I asked some friends, also.
