Good morning ladies.
Had our organic inspection on Saturday and everything went very well. Always get a bit anxious just before. Not sure why as we have never had an issue. Having worked for the provincial government a number of years in the past I am used to paperwork and form filling. Inspector complimented us on our yard which was nice to hear. We planted some of the trees 50 years ago from small seedlings so they are now huge….also liked my little orchard.
Went to Edmonton yesterday to visit DD and family for Father’s Day bbq. Had a nice visit. Poured rain while there and pretty much all the way home. Have now accumulated over 3 inches at home but I’m sure Edmonton got a lot more. We were in desperate need of rain but hopefully it knows when to quit. Standing water now on some of the fields will cause some damage.
Enjoy your day ladies.
Joy
Congratulations!
And yes, it does seem to rain a lot after a bushfire season.

What are some signs that you are going to have a good day or are having a good day?
-- I got to sleep in!
-- lazy morning
-- no rain at the bus stop
-- the bus is cool
-- chances to exercise
-- music
-- friendly but quiet people
-- nice weather at lunch
-- accomplished something
-- kitty purrs
-- no plans for the evening
-- time to colour
-- time to read a book
-- when my google calendar email says, "You have no events scheduled today"
That's some ... please add to the list. What are some of yours?

I redecorated my place with art, a desk that was my grandfathers, old family photos & plants. I am pleased with how well it has turned out. 😊 ❤️ ⭐️

Good evening everyone. I’m trying to remember to come here and read the posts ever day. Looks like of you have made some great connections.
Looks like my husbands scan to confirm the metastasis is booking out until July 19. Let’s us enjoy our vacation before we get into planning his next treatment options.
Today was a busy one. Got groceries, folded laundry, cleaned the kitchen, learned how to use the grill 😀, helped my husband with his clothes for the trip (folded and sorted), then did my own, repotted a plant and read a book. I kept busy.
I hope you all had a great day.

Welcome! You sure have a lot going on in your life. So sorry to hear of your mom's passing and your husband's illness. In the past few years, many of us in this group are or have been through the challenges of caregiving for a spouse or other family member. And mostly, it's just dealing with it one day at a time. And keeping busy helps a lot too!
In your previous post, you mentioned your weight had gone up and down by quite a bit in the past few years. What strategy do you think was most successful when you lost?
Your vacation sounds great. I hope you both enjoy yourselves! And tell us about fun things you did and saw if you wish to share.
Pop in here when you can, there's a lot of great support.

Good morning ladies!
It's a wonderful day because my phone is reliable and allows me to connect with all of you!
And because my dog, my parents and I are healthy.

Finally got to bed after an hour and a half of waiting. Poor DH was out of it. I had misread the instructions that said put your watch forward and did it a day too early. Oops. We ended up in the gym at 5.45, but only realised it when our breakfast was late arriving and we rang room service. So, a very, very short night.
The gym did us good and the watercolour class helped as well. Before lunch I did linedancing. This afternoon is Salsa. Then a much needed nap. We are going to catch up with the lectures on the TV in the room. First stop, Kristiansund, on Thursday. Wednesday night is formal night.
Tonight we are going to the Nepalese restaurant, and our bottle of Tattinger is following us.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxx11 -
Lee Ann, I read this thread every morning while I eat my breakfast. Having a routine is helpful for me.
Katla, How great that you can be surrounded by your favorite things. You've waited a long time for this.
Rebecca, I agree that this thread has gotten me through some terrible times.
During some very bad times, I've stood in one place and reminded myself that I have clean clothes, the rent is paid, there is food in the fridge, I am breathing and mobile.

Good morning, afternoon or evening, as the case may be... welcome to those who are new, we're glad you're here!
Kind of off balance this morning in terms of my own routine, such as it is, because Corey's off again today, but enjoying watching him enjoy four days off with no plans, no pressures, he can just wander around with Egg (the cat).
Speaking of which, she would NOT stop crying outside the door to the bedroom this morning, which has become unusual. We banned her from the bedroom after she drove us around the bend jumping all over the bed a couple nights in a row at 1 a.m., and she adjusted pretty quickly to that. But this morning, after three days in a row of getting to lay on Corey's lap while he's done his two- or three-hour read of the entire internet, she wanted to know what was up, and was getting louder and louder. Took her another five minutes to stop crying after I let her in there... and then she was OK, went on about her business. Weirdo.
He just got up and is making his first cup of coffee, said he knew she was there and trying to wake him up, but he just played dead until she went away. Now that he's up, I can make noise... whee!
Later, y'all,
Much love,

UPDATE ON KIRBY
Doc says he has 2 bulging discs, has arthritis in his lower back spine and in his neck. He says he is surprised that he isn’t in any pain. He is having him go in for more tests, he still doesn’t know what is causing his bowel issue. I’m not surprised that he’s not in pain, he is constantly active. If he was sedentary all of the time and then got up to move that’s when it would make sense to hear him complain about pain. Oh well, we’ll see what shakes.
Today I’ll be taking the kids the full distance, kirby will turn back with Lucy at 2 miles. We had some windows replaced and the bathroom window needed to have the balance replaced, well they had ordered the wrong one, so it came in and they will be fixing that one this morning. We will be able to open that window after that, yeayyyyy.13 -

Sorry about Kirby's back and bowel issues.
But I agree about how being active helps reduce pain.
If I sit or lie down a lot during a day, my hips get so sore I can hardly walk or move (arthritis), but if I am active or even just spend an hour here or there standing at work, I am fine.

WOW.
Take care.
I'm out.3 -
Salsa was very fast and sweaty. DH had to drop out - too much spinning. I had a good partner who must have been well over 80, but could dance!
Just discovered there is a choir starting at 4.30. DH is happy to go, so we'll try it out. Couldn't do choir on cruises before because it clashed with lunch.

Pip - Sorry they couldn't find the cause of Kirby's bowel issues. But he is a shining example of how we must all keep going. If you don't use it, you lose it. So true. My legs are really aching right now, but I'm so glad I'm still mobile. There are some really sad sights on the ship. Keep going girls!

Michele - on the laptop, and using the mouse, I'm able to highlight and delete everything in a quote that doesn't pertain to what I'm responding to and consequently I can tighten up the post. On my tablet, no. Not sure about a phone's capability in that area.

I did this on my tablet. It’s not as easy as on a computer, but it can be done. I just delete. Very carefully.3 -
