1. Set an intention to be kind to others (and yourself) this month. I plan to be kind to people I meet and to myself. Not just this month but all the time. It may not be every time, but I will try.
2. Send an uplifting message to someone you can’t be with. I will text my best friend who lives in Michigan, and my friend that lives in NY. Did this
3. Be kind and supportive to everyone you interact with. I did this!
4. Ask someone how they feel and really listen to their reply. I plan to try to remember to do this. Done!
5. Spend time wishing for other people to be happy and well. Will meditate and do this through a loving-kindness meditation.
6. Smile and be friendly to the people you see today. Will do!
7. Give time to help a project or cause you care about. I volunteer at Bottomless Lakes State park and also belong to the ‘Friends of’ group and am on the board as secretary. Does this count?
8. Make some tasty food for someone who will appreciate it. My DH does all the cooking. Perhaps i will look for something KETO to cook. Otherwise, we give food to our co-host often.
9. Thank someone you’re grateful to and tell them why. I will!
10. Check in with someone who may be lonely or feeling anxious. Checked in with my son.
11. Share an encouraging news story to inspire others. Did this at ER when the diagnosis was given.
12.
13. No plans day! Be kind to yourself so you can be kind to others too. I need the rest!
14. Take an actions to be kind to nature and care for our planet. Will do! Need to de-stress!
15. If someone annoys you, be kind. Imagine how they may be feeling. I will try to put myself in the other person’s shoes.16. Make a thoughtful gift as a surprise for someone.
17. Be kind online. Share positive and supportive comments.
18. Today, do something to make life easier for someone else.
19. Be thankful for your food and the people who make it possible.
20. Look for the good in everyone you meet today.
21. Donate unused items, clothes, or food to help a local charity.
22. Give people the gift of your full attention.
23. Share an article, book, or podcast you find helpful.
24. Forgive someone who hurt you in the past.
25. Give your time, energy, or attention to someone in need.
26. Find a way to ‘pay it forward’ or support a good cause.
27. Notice when someone is down and try to brighten his day. (My DH’s birthday. He always gets depressed on this day. Worse this year as he turns 70 today).
28. Have a friendly chat with someone you don’t know very well.
29. Do something kind to help in your local community.
30. Give away something to those who don’t have as much as you.
31. Share Action for Happiness with other people today.

The best predictor of the future or future behavior is the past. If until this point the relationships, hobby, friendship, job, etc. has not served you in any positive regard, it likely won't in the future.
— YALDA SAFAI, MD, MPHA Word From Verywell
Sunk cost fallacy can be tricky to wrap your head around, and it’s not without nuance. For more clarity in these complex decision-making moments, completely disregard how much you’ve already invested so that it doesn’t hold influence. Then, look at the facts.
Are you satisfied? Have you repeatedly been met with dead ends? Is there still potential for a positive outcome if you continue investing your resources and energy? What are the benefits of walking away and opening a new door? These are the factors that should influence your decision rather than any previously sunk costs.3 -

Fun fact about the Wild West and Roswell… it is in the Wild West! Billy the kid used to hang out here as it was the closest town to his hideout 60 miles away! Lol
Plane travel— I like the window seat and all my stuff in a carryon. I’ve lost luggage before, and saves me time by not having to go to luggage claim.
Car travel —- I love driving, hate riding! When I drive between Tn and CT (16 hours). Stopped to get gas every 3 hours, walk around and snacks, or nap, then on the road again. I really enjoy it!

Salt Cedars blooming again.. unusual… alien influence maybe??7 -
Back from Walmart, stopped and dropped a card off to Tom for his Birthday. And snuggled with Homie..Alfie of course ran around like a wild boy..
And now we are home..Im tired..2 -
My Zoom was fun, (not) ! I lost my temper with P. Oh well. DH could hear the shouting from downstairs.
Not proud of myself, but I was soooo right!
DH said that Bea told him, (after some fracas at the table and he said, 'come and sit with me'), "You are the one who cares about me."
She also said, when he was putting her to bed, that if I hadn't broken up with Grandpa, then she would never have met him! Aaaahhhh! She is so right.
I went some shopping and did some rowing and cycling . Good enough. No writing, but that's OK.
Tomorrow we have date evening. Going for early dinner at the Regency. Will walk along the seafront in our glorious sunny weather. Fish and chips are in my future. Low carb be da..ed.

Belated welcome back from vacation @jgabsalot Julial!
Belated best birthday wishes dear Carol and Juliel!
Lanette nope sorry, not my bday, but Julie’s (@bananasandoranges) same as Carol’s. your Insightful * Inspiring * Like * Hug . It’s in my handy mfpcolors.txt file now
Okie “linner” just didn’t sound right
Rita O M G! Thankful for law enforcement indeed, and for your ranger and your quick thinking to blockade and most especially that no one was killed. ((hugs)) Like you, I enjoy long distance driving, find it meditative.
Debbie yours to Karen in VA, likewise miss her posts. Hope its just ‘cuz she’s having way too much fun with all her new activities.
Rosemarie sleep that’s the cure! After 17 years of taking care of my wheelchair bound papa, Mama slept for an entire summer.
Heather the experiment, and that you’ve survived the onslaught. I’d’ve been more than “tense”
Rebecca delightful surprise to see the pic of your middle sister outside in the fresh air.
Lisa “…shot right back out about six feet” A real tea-choker.
Annie, Bravissima for getting back on the yoga and exercise bike wagon. Yay you!
Machka my toilet paper roll cover was purple. Air travel is not foreseeable at this time but I like to wear slip on shoes, and carry a flexible flight bag that fits under the seat, with a change of underwear, a clean top and a toothbrush as well as purse, book, snacks. Putting a rolling bag in the overhead has become so difficult for me that I prefer to check any luggage. Fashion? I wore a suit like the 1965 one. Late 60s-early 70’s bell bottoms, Tshirts, and a black velvet neck ribbon like the 1995 one. Mid- 70’s I wore long skirts, boots, a shirt and a blazer to work every day. In the 80’s and 90’s power suits and heels (but knee sox and tennies for the walk form BART to office and back). 97-2015 pant suits and flats, easier for crawling under desks . 2016- jeans, turtlenecks, flannel hoodies, hiking sox and boots.
Terri you are a real joy-sparker. Thanks!
Kylia Oww! Glad not epi pen territory but ouch!

My son came over to pick up DDIL'S glasses. He said everyone was glad to be back. Bit dusty and extension leads everywhere! My motion sensor battery light is in the bathroom. Bea has no curtains.
Glad we weren't called upon again! Though I do miss them already.
All good with P. She is very forgiving.

Vicki: Hope work starts to go better!
Heather: So wonderful to have the grandchildren in your life!
RV Rita: A shooting...you never know what you will have to deal with1
Machka: The 80's starter pak is pretty accurate. I still like the cookies from Ryal Dansk
Tracey: A Reba concert sounds good!
Kylia: Glad the bee sting was okay! I would certainly do something extra for your husband who says your boobs are fine! I don't have a single bra that fits right!
Lisa: Sorry about the Crohn's diagnosis! Your weather sounds much better than mine. I have not been going out in the afternoons!
Katla: Too bad the hummingbirds have left. The season is ending!
Julia: I hope you had a good vacation!
Sue: Glad you got out to dinner and hope your walk around the shops was fun!
Annie: I hope this last migraine wasn't too bad!
I worked at the Cat Rescue this morning but because of the heat spent the afternoon in doors! I have meditation with some people on Zoom at 6:30 pm. I tried 3 samples of paint on the house this afternoon and have found one I like! The neighbors gave me some fresh tomatoes. I have been cooking these with spinach in a little olive oil and really enjoying the result!
Best,

My most important travel essential (besides having the right attitude) is my backpack which is roomy enough for essentials and easy to carry. I use it as my carry-on luggage on the plane and as a take along in the car for both long and short trips.
It has been super hot again here so once I finished my morning walk and got 11,000 steps, I've been staying inside.
Carol, Happy Birthday.

Good evening ladies!
I did my dumbbell routine for the first time in three weeks, Yay! I did thirty reps instead of forty, but that will be a good level for this week. I also did thirty minutes on my bike with intervals. Yay!
I did eat some extra today. Something to work on.
My mom had an excellent visit with the memory center doctor. No apparent decline this past six months, Yay! I wish I could say the same for my dad.
Tomorrow I really am going to register my car. I am not going to leave it until the last minute!

Debbie, my husband found an ID badge while walking in our neighborhood, which is a t-shaped subdivision of less than 20 houses. I posted a description on the local FB group page. No-one recognized the name by several said the badge was definitely Amazon. The first driver he flagged down (remember Dave is known for his walking the neighborhood. He is out all the time.) explained how there might be 5 or 6 different drivers in the neighborhood in the course of a day depending on the warehouse they were coming from, whether it was an express delivery, etc. Dave was determined. He actually got the right driver on his third flag.
He also found a set of keys with a Kroger rewards card on the chain. We turned that in to the service desk at Kroger. Hopefully they made the effort to contact the person rather than just parking them in lost and found.5 -
Remember a few weeks ago we had a talk about unwanted pests and I told you about the guy that was feeding them in his newhome.
This is an example.

Debbie - how do you know they are legit companies? That sounds like something my daughter could do easily.
Sue - what a great surprise! Enjoy your day with her.
Machka - I enjoyed the video of 100 years of fashion.
Terri - you are a beautiful writer.
Vicki - I hope work settles for you soon. I think they expect you to do way too much with little staff. It puts you in a hard position.
Heather - happy the family got back to their house tonight, but sorry it’s not finished for them.
Bea is so sweet with Johnny. What a treasure they are to each other.
Rosemarie - the Reba concert was good. I liked the way she did her sets. She asked the audience to travel with her, then sang all of her songs with a place mentioned. Little Rock, When whoever’s in New England, etc.
She did a set of strength type songs, I’m a Survivor, Is there Life out there? (My absolute favourite of hers).
Her, as she called them, “wailin’ songs”,
There were more, it was about 2.5 hours and quite enjoyable.
Allie - that picture of Seth and Carmine does look like it’s from the 70’s. I see a hint of a smile. I didn’t like smiling in pictures when I was young, I didn’t like my teeth and was scared they would show.
I hope you get some straight answers next week.
Carol - Happy Birthday!
I am getting the fuel pump fixed on my car on Friday. I’m praying that it is the last of the repairs for some time to come. DH’s new truck already needs a repair though and I’m not too happy about that. Of course it’s part that is jot under warranty. It’s a new to us truck, but is a 2017.
Our Grandson has earned his cell phone and will be getting it tomorrow. I’m nervous about it, but also nervous for him not to have it starting junior high. I can’t believe I’ll be able to text him now.
It is 1015 and so hot. I have been asked to have a phone call with my HR tomorrow. I’m not sure how I feel about it.
Oh this is a picture of me in the 70’s with my Mom and brother. I loved that little outfit.
I should try to go to bed. I hope I can sleep with the heat.

Debbie, just heard about the Holiday and Diamond fires in the timber north of Calistoga. Hope that’s not affecting your mom’s place.1
