Hi I’m new here. I don’t normally post to these kind of things. But I guess I just need a little encouragement. I’m mid 50s have several health issues and having the hardest time getting on track with weight loss. Some days it’s hard for me to move which in turn makes it hard for me to get motivated to eat right. But still I know I need to. Didn’t know it would be this hard. Your message was very helpful.11

I did fifteen minutes on my bike. Two days in a row!

mwalley67: Weight loss can be slow. I joined WW and over 5 months lost 5 pounds which is probably good but seems so slow to me. I think our stress levels and cortisol levels have something to do with it and of course being in your Mid 50's menopause is right in there. I have been with this group 15 months and highly enjoy everyone. Welcome to the group.
Annie: Great! Getting on the bike 2 days in a row! I am about to vacuum and mop and polish the downstairs floors. I actually feel well and have the energy to do this. In October I was much more tired. I think it must have been some post-Covid syndrome.
Best,

We had our first sunny day after days of rain, so we decided to go into town to buy John's late birthday present, a tweed peaked cap. Thought we might pick up some artisan sausages at the same time. The bus was very delayed, so John walked on while I waited for it. Eventually he rang me to say all the buses were stuck further down. Sure enough the bus I was on halted and I got out and met up with John. Gave up the idea of going into town, (no idea what the problem was), and walked back to Hove and the cheap art supplies shop. Bought three flat canvases to try out with acrylics. Not done that before.
Then set off home. Before very long my back and hips were really aching. I'm so fed up with this. I must have walked not much more than 2 miles.
I know the antibiotics have given me diarrhoea and I seem particularly stiff, but I am very frustrated. Tomorrow morning I take my last antibiotic.
I do my exercises every morning and that is fine. Fortunately, my thigh didn't play up, just general hip pain.
Chicken in Chinese black bean sauce tonight, with cabbage. I make it from scratch.

Barbara, yes Skobud is me.... and hopefully I am back on the site going forward as teklawa again. I've had a war going on with myfitnesspal. It has signed me in with three different user names and for several days wouldn't recognize email and password I've used for years. I have empathy for Katla because I think I've experienced what she was happening with her. I'm not sure it is a MFP issue for me. My apple computer has been quirky for a couple weeks and quit working. I signed on with Jack's PC and my sign in worked fine.
I've been limping my iPad along for the last couple years. It is getting slower and slower and now it's locking up on me and has the spinning ball within a few minutes of turning it on. This PC of Jack's works fine and I am now questioning whether or not to buy a new iPad. I'm wondering if maybe I'll just try to learn how to use this computer and maybe if I'm successful learning this pc.... buy a Dell laptop sometime down the road. I've had two iPads in the last 20 years but never anything else. I wonder what the learning curve will be....Yikes.

Lanette-SIL had let house mate live there for 30 years-that gives her some tenancy rights and if medical staff say housemate can live on own SIL needs to establish not in her home. A case where being nice can end up backfiring on you. She is doing it as an extra protection for herself and housemate. SIL is POA and is doing everything to get her in a place to provide safe care. Yes, she does feel a sense of responsibility but she also has to take care of self. SIL may not be walking in another year.
Rosemarie-I have typically cleaned out dryer vent once a year or so-hadn't done it since Covid. Glad I had them do it-it was plugged up to the outside vent opening. Dryer vents plugged up are major cause of house fires so I figured it was worth it to get it all done at once.
Betsy in NW WA-I sue my iPad for travel and some other app based stuff. I really like my MacBook Air. It's a lightweight laptop. I prefer the screen size of it for banking and bill paying. I have my home systems Apple and use Windows at work-gives me a bit of separation. I really don't think you will have much of a problem learning to use the PC.
Annie-two days in a row-you are starting a trend!
Allie-if you are trading your old car in I wouldn't bother with the wash and vacuum-they will do a professional detailing on it for resale.
Off to clean up and get ready to go to YS. Went for a bit over 4 mile walk this morning-the air was nice and crisp but not overly cold.
Take care all,

Today’s Gratitude: That I retired when I did
Got a lovely surprise call from a former coworker, asked if he could FaceTime. Said yes even though I was still in my flannel nightgown. He and two other guys I worked with were on an annual Vegas get-together. It was so very good to see their smiling faces and hear that they and their kids are all doing ok. By the end of the chat I was sooo glad I got out when I did
Whine:Internet went down so no choice but to do PTBarbie ((hugs)) Love “…no one will shush you and tell you to hurry up and get to the point.”
PT done, breakfast eaten, still no internet.
Hour grooming Tumble, still no internet.
Pouring down rain so no dog group, started load of laundry, still no internet.
Day more than half gone, only 2K steps, no internet means no YouTube Leslie Sansome. Dug out old Zumba DVD and walked to 5 songs Zumba to get to 4500 steps. Can NOT move my hips butt the way they do but walking at their pace gets HR up and sweating. Still no internet.
One game of Spider, one of Free Cell, still no internet. Repeat, still no internet.
Prep dressing for hot potato salad, tummy time, green salad prep.
Aha! Internet restored! Yay! Ate dinner, napped, Jeopardy and Zumba walked some more and now I’m back on line.
@Skobud are you our Betsy in NW WA who summers in Alaska? New profile name?
Rosemarie thanks for sharing about Amazon vs WalMart. I need to comparison shop more carefully. What Beth said about local resources, though around here they’re all “raw” unpasteurized.
Annie I’m jealous your dairy tolerance has improved. I used to react poorly to whole milk but could tolerate yoghurt and cottage cheese. No more  Fortunately if I keep the cheese down to an ounce all’s well…
Kylia, Beth and Ginny count me in on the “pick one time and stick to it camp”
Rita what is MCC?
Kelly so sorry your debit card got hacked. “…As an adult, I react to things (joyfully) the way a child might. I clap, and jump, and spin, and get very excited…” this!
Lanette while you were making minestrone I made a big ol’ batch of pasta e fagioli, my new comfort food. Ate one portion and froze the rest We treat the dvd player clock like the clock radio in that “how to set your clocks back” meme.
Carol good luck with your phone. I’ve shut Siri off entirely... or at least think I have… ;}
Rebecca “…he says he does it just to give me something to find.😂. Like a treasure hunt…” What a guy! Forget the duct tape, a little scotch tape is much safer
Allie I really don’t like the bottles with the push down and twist tops, and transfer their contents whenever I can.
Probably won’t go to church tomorrow, rain and high winds are just too scary on the coast highway.11/4: Move: 2 sets PT w/x&a, Zumba and Jeopardy walking. Steps:
Fuel: sugar in vs mfp=4 CI<CO net=247 vits=1
Live: Joe, readings, BP, AD, AF, ptT, ptS, one and a half loads laundry. Wt:131.6
Time to snooze.
Later, lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
November: Move more: chair yoga, line dance, dailyish PT, play with dogs.
Fuel better: less sugar, CI<CO, dailyish vitamins.
Live NOW: dailyish time with Joe, readings, start meditating. Open heart and mind before mouth.
2023: Be of good cheer.
I have to admit, husband has become more entertaining as we've aged. His new liver started it all. I am a firm believer that his donor had a big part in his personality change.💖
Hugs!

Barbara MCC = microscopic collageous colitis —definition in spoiler TMI!Form of microscopic colitis that affect the large intestine. The term microscopic colitis is used to describe chronic, watery diarrhea in patients with only microscopic evidence of inflammation. My doc said is never gets better (Internet says so too) but can get worse. Lately when I’m not in the BR, my tummy feels swollen, bloated and inflamed and I get very tired from not getting proper nutrition from my food, especially when it immediately leaves after eating.
On another note….. Here are a couple of my colorings. I use a combination of colored pencils, crayons, paint pens that have a brush on one end and a small tip on the other (my favorite medium, I just don’t have enough colors!). Most of my colorings have a combination of mediums.

Just found out on the local news that the traffic blockage was a Pro-Palestinian protest.
All fine by me, but , while I was waiting at the bus stop, I got chatting to an elderly couple who were on their way to the hospital. They lived in Horsham, where I spent my teenage years, so we had a lot to talk about. I don't know how they got to the hospital, as I got off the bus.
Just about to start the dinner.

It is the best site.💖. When I tell things to my husband he sometimes says, "yes you have already told me this, go on".... Or he does this motion with his hands to wrap it up! Like what a director does to start filming! It us so annoying, I just stop talking and say, " nope I am done".

mine usually has no interest in what I am saying, he will walk away while I am talking or interupt and start talking about something totally different. If it doesn't involve him, he doesn't really care.
He is very self centered. He has told me I have already told him something. He just says " I know, you already told me".
This page is amazing to be able to just chat, vent, what ever and not be judged too much(once in a while it happens but not very often)6 -
Done, no walking and under an 11min mile
