Most tender and juicy chicken ever! Perfect for adding protein and brightening up ramen. With light sour cream, mushrooms and a half portion of pappardelle a yummy “chicken stroganoff.” This will be a monthly staple. Next time I’ll add carrots and celery and try to make a balsamic chicken and dumplings. Thanks again!

Beth, like you, I grew up with electric stove top (there’s a story about trying to toast marshmallows on the glowing element that might best go untold). Had both in my twenties and far preferred gas. When we retired to the coast, Ack! No natural gas! I burned everything I tried to cook for five years, then bought a gas stove and had it converted to propane. Happy-ish with the propane, would not recommend Samsung nor Sears warranty. :{
Michele I found Sofrito at Trader Joe’s but it is a dry seasoning mix, a jar of spices. Didn’t know it was also a salsa like-condiment. Alas no Chipotle here. . .
Only through pg 10 but falling asleep . . .

Even at almost 62yrs old(this Friday), I still enjoy "toasting" marshmallows on my electric stove top because, just sometimes, I crave them and I only have electric stove. They have to be toasted just perfectly golden brown, not burnt at all.
Mom has gas which I find easier to cook on but have used electric my whole adult life.

Kim you’re in too!
Machka I get mad whenever you tell us about the back-to-work person. Please tell me she’s totally out of your lives now? Lord have mercy on her other “clielnts”.
Heather That much pain just doesn’t sound right. ((hugs)) While you know your own body best, hoping a prompt, real, professional examination elicits a helpful diagnosis. Do you have an appointment? Edie and Max really shot up quickly! Like your first and second steps, hope that helps you sleep.
Likewise Annie, good for you for preparing for the future, whatever it will bring.
Michele re: Katla will do. Glad the leg finally stopped oozing. Safe travels!
Lanette sometimes a song just catches me, brings a tear. That In the Shallows clip was one. Like you now I’ll keep an eye out for “A Star is Born”
Rebecca cilantro, ugh. Might as well grate up some Irish Spring. The Sorfrito I had tasted more of garlic, red pepper, dried tomato. Label says there’s also parsley, rosemary and sage. No cilantro :noway:
Just skimmin’ back later.

Oh a fellow cilantro despiser.....💖👍🏼 its definitely as bright green as Irish Spring huh? Easy to spot the offensively leaved suckers! I do like to mix jars of bruschetta, the olive and sun dried tomato ones! Then adding garlic and sauted onion. I add it to soups, put on sandwiches, not just on toasted bread with a slice of cheese.
I sang your label...parsley, rosemary and saaaaage, in my head.

I love cilentro- plan on planting it again this year but need to remember to plant it late so it is ready when my tomatoes are. I like to add it to my pico de gallo , salsa, sandwiches, pho, bahn mi sandwiches have to have it along with the pickled carrots.
Mom and I both like cilentro and basil. Dad didnt/dh doesn't like either. I will be planting a lot of basil too to make pesto

had a great day exercise wise(just over 15,000 steps after zumba) and food wise, Just a bit under the 1200 calories.
Today, so far at just over 6,000 steps(walked mil's dog then went shopping with dh in two stores) and at 0 calories , but that will change soon. Going to make lunch- baked red potato topped with crisp bacon crumbled on top along with a bit of sour cream and Colby cheese.
Working on things for dh to take to the next show- SacCon is this weekend. I need to print some business cards instead of just using my old ones and putting his info on the back. Also printing more stuff for him to sell- we have 6 printers going pretty much all the time. Some prints take a day or longer to print. I am working on a bearded dragon now, doing the clean up on one and printing another one on the one on the kitchen table. Looking forward to a semi-quiet weekend, with just a few things to do(depending on the weather)

All well at 9 weeks..
Heather- my mom was on hemo dialysis for 5 years was quite easy and that was almost 30 yrs ago,so im sure things have changed aince then..
I did nothing today.. was super tired..9 -
April - Commiserations. I'm sure it was a stressful day, but it sounds as if things are under control and you are getting good care.
I enjoyed my afternoon with almost no pain. You can see why people get addicted to painkillers. So tempting.
We enjoyed watching the Great Pottery Throw Down semi-final. They were making decorated lavatories.
My friend G texted me to see how I was and I scared the life out of her by texting that John was better off without me. Her sister and best friend both killed themselves and she has made several suicide attempts. I had to explain that I meant for the long walk in the rain, not existentially. Whoops!
Feeling much more cheerful for my respite.

Rita--Congrates on 7 months sober. I will have 17 years April 5th. One Day at a Time.
Heather--So sorry to hear all you are going thur with this pain. I pray you get some answers and relief soon.
I started my new meds today and think I will have to take the one at night as having a hard time staying awake this afternoon.
April--Hope you get some answers soon.
Been beautiful weather so far this week and now they are talking about snow Thursday and Friday. Saturday night we move our clocks an hour ahead. This year is flying by.

Heather - I’ve seen my doctor, a for specialist and a massage therapist. All have recommended the same things and it does seem to be working to a degree. It’s when I walk too much, that I am really struggling. I do believe the exercises are helping though.
I hope you find an answer very soon, it’s hard dealing with pain.
How sweet of John. That’s what makes a good partnership.
Machka - my washer is only leaking when I put a load through. I really need to get it looked at before I have a full on flood.
Wind is so damaging. Our patio shelter has been ruined the last two summers. We need to get a more sturdy one, but those are so much more expensive.
Your colouring reminds me of the coasters I made. They required colouring with infusible ink markers.
I love your colour choices.
Annie - I think one reason we don’t get up and do things when we’re not working is because we know we have time, then the time just slips on by and it doesn’t get done. In the meantime we use all of this time to make more mess. 😂
Beth - it seems funny to me that you’re doing yard clean up and we’re really just getting winter. We have more snow now than we’ve had all season.
It’s supposed to warm up again by Thursday so it will probably all be gone by next week.
Vicki - how sad for the families and neighbours of that man.
A shame that a couple of groups ruined 19 years of the bike show. I hope you had a good birthday just the same.
I agree the year seems to be going fast again.
Rita - I will pm you, I think we need to be friends first.
April - it’s good that your doctor is investigating and that you have a doctor that cares.
Allie - I’m sure you know by now that FB, Instagram and Messenger were all down. I was chatting with my daughter when it went down, I thought I had been hacked I know you enjoyed this show so will find the humour in this.
Lisa - that was a worldwide issue I believe. I never did get a warning from FB.
Barbara - my “gait” is a huge issue. Every muscular and joint pain and such that I have suffered has started because of how I walk and my posture. It started in my shoulders, moved to my back, then my hips and now my feet. I told the massage therapist that maybe this will be the last of it as it had to work its way out from the top to the bottom.
I could go to physiotherapy, I have found them pretty useless in everything else so I chose not to this time. It’s pricy when for the most part the exercises they would recommend are readily available. My massage therapist thought was able to loosen some of the muscles and started the help, my icing, resting, using the sling/boot at night and the roller ball has shown much improvement. I just need to keep at it.
I don’t want to say out loud because my foot might hear it and rebel, but it is feeling pretty good today even after some walking.
I watched Eslbeth, I loved her character on The Good Fight and The Good Wife. I don’t know why they started it and then it’s not back until April though. 🥴
I went for my TB test today, have to go back on Thursday for him to look at it and then issue the certificate. It cost $80.
I also went into the city to pick up the letter the doctor signed for me. Learned he is taking new patients, so I have a meet and greet with him on March 18th. I would prefer a woman, but I prefer any doctor to no doctor.
I stopped at a local scrapbook store and picked up some paper. I have an idea for a set of pages in Kaitlyn’s book. I may take a break from school and work on it this evening. I did submit my paper this morning. I practiced my presentation with a coworker, it was 11 minutes. It’s supposed to be 3-5, I have edited a lot and deleted a couple of slides. I need to go through it again this evening to make sure I’m not too long.
I’ll be back later

Tracey my Dad did a presentation on the death penalty for his Episcopalian high school. It was supposed to be five minutes but he was done in three. So he called for two minutes of silent prayer. He had a lot of stage presence for a young boy!
I know you will do well on your presentation because you are passionate about the subject.

Barbara AHMOD-glad you enjoyed recipe. I have one for beef and for pork (variations). I have discovered I like Balsamic vinegar.
April-hope heart issues get work out.
Heather-I think you took the most sensible approach. Patience is hard.
Lanette-my first thought was that the Norton email was spam (I get them often and haven't had it for years. The Visa alert changes that.
Margaret-even though appointment is month and a half off you should be paid starting with when you called. I get survivors for my husband since I am full retirement age and working and I had a nice retro deposit. Don't know what those who have very limited cash are supposed to do.
Joy-I was at work and completely missed the world wide outage!
Rita and Vicki-43 years in June.
Raining most of the day here-at times very heavy. Am expecting one more Amazon delivery tonight and don't want to risk it getting soaked so staying in from ladies' group. Have lots to accomplish here!
May stop in later.

April - so sorry to hear about your heart problems. Seems like sometimes these things just happen - you've been under a LOT of stress and anxiety lately. Our bodies are so good at healing, hoping the cardiologist and the stress test/echo show things have cleared up. Good to get this checked out, for sure. Thank you for keeping us in the loop!
Vicki - sorry the bike show didn't pan out. People are out of control these days it seems. Hope they can get your heart under control.
Debbie - Happy Early Birthday!
Michele - that's a whopping assessment. I'm sure too much for many people to bear.
Has anyone heard from Kylia? Missing her. Maybe Ginny has been in touch.
Ginny - sounds like you'll be all ready for your company. I believe you said they are looking to move back to Ohio?
After the Facebook kerfuffle died down, I did go ahead and change my password on everything just in case a hacker was busy. I don't go onto Facebook much anymore but like to keep Messenger open.
McAfee applied the credit almost immediately yesterday, I checked my Visa. But when I look at my McAfee account, it shows it was renewed until April of 2025? I must have scared the wits out of that gal, lol. I have a hunch it will catch up. Thinking of buying a whole new laptop this year, eventually retiring this one. I'll check into a different anti-virus. Yesterday was the third "encounter" I've had with McAfee over the past couple years. All of the big anti-virus programs are probably just as frustrating to deal with.
All of this anti-virus shopping gives me major decision fatigue in a matter of minutes!

Did a Tracy Long DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do an intense burn DVD
After the Y today played mahjong with one of the ladies here. She taught me how to play with just two people. Interesting, but I still get somewhat confused.
Heather – HUG. Johnny cares so much for you. Glad you listened to him. I know if I was in your situation, I would be so so frustrated. Heck, I was frustrated that I couldn’t do all the things I wanted to do when I bumped my leg. It’s getting so much better, I can even go in the pool. Oh, it still is a bit sore if I touch it, but I can live with that. So sorry that someone as vibrant as you is in so much pain.
M – I don’t think I ever mentioned vince going to France. He’s not. Hope your family is safe
Beth – you don’t have to tell me $22,000 is a lot of money. Heck, that’s almost a new car!! As a matter of fact, I don’t think we paid that much for my car
Supposed to go to this lady’s lunch tomorrow. It’s at this local pizza place. To me, if it wasn’t being with everyone, I wouldn’t bother. I’ll probably just have a salad. Afterwards, we’re going to play mahjong and the guy about redoing the bathroom is supposed to be here at 4
Lanette – Bryan was teaching English at the University in Bordeaux and since LaReunion is part of France, I guess he went there and liked it a lot. That’s as much as I can figure out how he got there.
April – HUG
Went for a walk at the park the lady took me to the other day. I strolled around some, then I met her there so my strolling was put on hold. I’ll probably walk around the parking lot after dinner
Barbara - I highly doubt the board would get a loan. This I can understand – they want the work done before hurricane season. Applying for a loan takes months to be approved.
Margaret – thank you so much for your understanding of my situation with Bryan. No one really knows the pain unless they’ve experienced it. But you’re so very close. Yes, I’d love to see my grandson, but I won’t risk never getting any more pictures of him. I think and pray for bryan and Leo and Geraldine every day. Maybe some time I will see them. Maybe that’s why I like volunteering at the soup kitchen. To be with others who are suffering, too
Debbie – our library has a printer you can use. Vince took a drawing of a battery holder for his Christmas batteries (so one doesn’t touch another one and short out) and they made it for him. He loves it
Florinda -welcome! What a lovely name. Tell us more about yourself
Rita and Vicki – congrats
Lanette – that IS a huge assessment. But it has to be done. Had they done it the right way the first time, we wouldn’t be in this predicament. I went walking around the parking lot with one of the ladies here and she mentioned something about a water assessment. I’d never of this and I’m not going to say anything to Vince about it. I have a feeling nothing will come of it
Michele now FL5 -
Margaret, I'm really glad you picked me out of the crowd to rebuke. As I said, Michele, I am in the same situation. No wonder I was an easy target.3

I did learn that the sooner you can file for survivor benefits the better. I waited forty-five minutes on the phone to try to make an appointment at an office. (I put on speaker and continued to work on the computer) Turns out they make a phone appointment with you. It will be a month and a half out. Fortunately I saved last year so my cash flow will be fine while I wait for this to get resolved.
So life is pulling me forward and as I told the coroner between DH and son I have been grieving for 15 years. I still grieve but I do not let it keep me from enjoying my life. My new eating habits and reducing exposure to toxins is also helping me feel strong.

I am still trying to get mom to get her appointment so she can get dad's SS.It has been over 3 yrs.
First they were not making appointments because of Covid and then they were backed up and then she just let it go. I keep bugging her about it.
I had heard that it will be retro pay but not sure how far back they will go. She could really use the extra income. I need to find out for sure- that will be a push for her to get in and do it.
I have offered to take her to the appointment- can't push too hard(did that before with bad results)
She keeps telling me that she will call the next day. Still waiting

Well, here I am at the car dealership. My check engine light keeps coming on and then going off again. Fortunately there is a history that can be checked so they got an error code that eats there is an air leak. Now they figure it's something in the engine. At this point I'm very happy that our tax refund is a biggie, I kind of see it evaporating! 😪 Just have to hope for the best at this point, I may have to bring it back to actually get it fixed.
I had an appointment for a bone density scan on Friday. I have no idea who the Dr is that ordered it, his name is unfamiliar to me, but I was kind of interested in knowing where I stood so I didn't quibble. The appt was for 7:15 am and the letter said to be there 30 min before which meant I had to be up at 5 in order to leave by 6 to get there in time as the hospital is a distance away. The time stamp on the parking slip said 6:32 and then I had to walk to the actual area. Got there at 7:40 to see the sign on the door that said “office hours 7am til 3pm. Grrrrr oh well, says I, got a good charge on the phone, I can play some games. At 7:05 I checked the door, still locked, grrrrr again. The receptionist never did show up while I was there, but the tech got me in about 7:20. She was quite pleasant and everything was quick and painless.
I was about halfway thru writing this when the gal from the service dept showed up and said my car was ready. They still have no idea what the problem was, but have cleared all the codes, checked everything they could and sent me on my way. Still cost me $225, but could have been worse, there was a long list of what's not wrong with it. If the light comes on again I’ll head back. It never did come on while the car was there.
Hugs to those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the new gals!
