mcmillonmail wrote: »Hi, ladies. I just wanted to say good night before I hit the sack. I took Rose to daycare at 2 pm. I told the lady this evening that it is nice to do things without getting huffed at. She said she does that at day camp, too. She said Rose was bossy, and that is the truth. So they really know the dog's personality. They had a tiny kitten abandoned by his mom, so the lady had to feed it all day with a small bottle. The other kitties died.:( There was a kitten at my mom's memory care center, and they told me my mom loved it. This one is a Calico cat whose mom also abandoned it. What is going on here with these cats not sticking by their babies?
I spent an hour in the pool doing water aerobics and then laps. Then, I did laundry and discarded things from the kitchen and garage for garbage day.
I worked on my vlog project. As Lisa said, the day went by fast. So I put away my clean, dark clothes and will fold the white towels in the morning. Happy Anniversary, Debbie. Get yourself something nice and charge it on DH's card. You deserve it.
Good night, ladies.
XO,
Mo
that is how we ended up with so many cats. Cats come and have kittens in our yard and leave them. Two times the momma has hung around after having the kittens but we brought them in(and had the first two fixed- triplets will be next getting them fixed but they are all girls and are inside only so not a huge rush, plus the fact that we just spent $300 to fix three strays(including the mom of the triplets) plus the $500 to have one cat put to sleep all in less than two weeks time. The first mom of the ones that we brought in(one was totally deaf so not safe to be outside around here and of course, had to keep her brother with her) we brought her in after getting her fixed a few years later.
What is crazy is these mom's don't even pay attention to their kittens-no clue that they are their own.
Our latest addition is a sweet cat that someone dropped off or got out and is lost- I tried finding the owner-no luck. She was pregnant when she showed up here. While I was at my mom's a friend came down and caught the two mom's (plus the one that had the triplets had a new litter-both kittens are in foster care somewhere else) and got them fixed. They terminated the pregnancy of the one-not something I agree with but was for the best because there are no room in any of the shelters/fosters are full and we can't take any more-She is now an inside only cat- DH wanted her in. She is getting along with most of the cats but still hides most of the time. Thankfully we have a big catio for them to hang out in if they want to. Hoping to put an addition on it before winter but not sure if that will happen. It will only take a weekend. May need to suggest to dh that we do it next weekend.
Thanks- I can buy something with my card(then I get the points) if I want- rarely find anything I want- I am a saver, he is the spender and he pays all the bills out of the joint account. He tells me all the time to buy something if I want to. I try but just don't need/want anything right now.
Always seems to be that way- when we have extra money, I can't think of anything to buy but then the few times things were a bit leaner, then I saw things I wanted.
this is the triplets- dh says we can't split them up either.
Previously, I had newborn triplet kids in my daycare, now I have triplet kittens.6 -

Happy Anniversary! So let me get this straight. Its your anniversary, yet he's going to go out with a friend, and might pick bbq up for you, though you aren't really a fan of bbq??? There's so much going on there, it makes my brain hurt.😥 You deserve the moon friend!

Thanks- yep, hurts my brain and my heart.2 -
I ordered a midax black pleated skirt from M&S, and then after checkout, realised it was a Petite. So I had to cancel that order and reorder it in Regular. I like my skirts to cover most of my legs. It's coming tomorrow, and I hope it fits. It will go with my new Chanel jacket. It's in a Jersey material, so should be relaxed and comfortable.

Debbie ~ I am so sorry that your husband was indifferent to your anniversary. Sounds very self centered and selfish. I do hope he took you out to dinner.
Annie ~ Would love to see a photo of you and your red hair. I bet it's pretty.
Barbara ~ Your dogs are a hoot. Mooch must add so much fun and entertainment to your family.
Went to what I decided would be my last physical therapy treatment on Wed. I think I went to at least 14 treatments and am all over it. The last few times I was told to use their leg press machine and leg curl machine. I really think these were doing more harm than good. I read that these can do harm if not supervised correctly and I think the weights were too much. The therapist was really concerned because of continued swelling, redness, and heat.
But, I think these machines aggravated it. Anyway, I think I can now work on some exercises I learned at home and will heal.

hugs- hopefully it heals up- you know your body better than they do- Do what feels good to you and take it at your own pace.
Thanks- yes, he is very self centered and selfish. Sadly, after all these years, I am very indifferent towards anniversaries too. Too many years of it.
Time to go walk the wetlands- Weather should be just right, praying for a nice breeze like yesterday.

mcmillonmail wrote: »Good Morning! Two days ago, I had a lot of labs drawn. A young lady asked me if I was having a great morning. I told her that I spent it in the clinic, but I was having a great morning nonetheless. She asked why, and I told her it was because I woke up. I had a great week because I got to do the exercises I love. It is such an empowering feeling. Heather smiling at the beach made my week. As far as organizing, I threw away quite a bit. I threw away the cover-up I wore to the pool when I was done. It had bleach stains, and it was way too big.
Machka, as far as the kitchen, I threw away a lot. I have a lot more to do. Next week, I will focus on that and my bedroom. I want to pack up what I want to keep that I am not using, but everyone is coming home for Christmas, so I will have to wait. I need the kitchen re-hauled; I asked DH if we want to redo the kitchen before selling. I know we have a plumbing issue as well. Until then, I must move things out of the damaged cabinets. So, for now, I will try to organize my kitchen office cabinet, pack those things up, and move stuff in there. Maybe some things in the pantry can get thrown out or boxed for the yard sale for now.
Lisa, your quilt fabric looks like a store display. You are working pretty hard, and it has paid off. I can't believe how much energy you have. You even mowed the lawn.
Barbara, Mooch is a powerhouse. Rose hunts for birds, and I have to save them. One year, she had a vast collection of turtles, and I had to save them, too. She even hunts lizards. I take her to people's houses who have a great fear of getting out of the house. Rose may try, but I have never seen her catch a squirrel.
Rita, the food looks excellent, and it is working.
Annie, I am with Carol. I want to see the red hair, too, and I am curious about how long it lasts.
Carol, I wish my therapist Rachel could work with you. She makes sure you are okay and does therapy in the pool to decrease stress on your joints. I would listen to your body and look up the kind of therapy you need. I did, and it worked with my hand. Let them know it isn't working for you and causing more discomfort than helping.
Tracy, you have wonderful children who appreciate you. What a blessing.
Pip, I will donate more because I believe in the cause, and you deserve Jersey!
Heather, your walk reminds me of going to the mall to walk. I ended up shopping after it opened, so it was expensive for me too. This is good for you. You are getting out and making memories.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. If work isn't too busy, I will try to keep up here and there. Until then, ladies, stay safe.
XO,
Monique
That is sweet of you to say, you don’t have to donate anymore. I think I deserve it too, lololol but hopefully I will get more $$ coming in.

Quiet afternoon, just rested mostly. Some days I just have to.
To the decluttering side of the last few days, this wasn't just to get everything arranged neatly and set up those shelves. Thank you, Heather, for noticing, though - I always look for color and joy and balance in anything visual... 🥰 Got rid of an entire 33gal. garbage bag of unusable bits and pieces and scraps that were purchased or sourced for specific projects - some of them 12 years old! Unfortunately nothing really donation-worthy, but at least it's not cluttering my home or my head anymore. I've found over this last year and a half, as I've sorted one thing out after another, that clutter and chaos are weighty. It's been almost as hard to lose that weight as to lose the poundage on my slightly narrower behind... 😂
The staggering part was that in clearing and sorting all the scraps, I ended up with 14 more pieces big enough to add to the fabric shelves... and I ran out of storage cards to wind them on. I started out with a hundred! I thought I was overbuying! More are on the way, and I'll have other uses for the extra.
Cor just called to let me know he's on the way home. He's got a fairly unusual Saturday workday tomorrow, has to travel north to fix a big haul truck, but he's taking his brother to help, which makes me happy. I hate it when he's traveling upcountry without anyone to assist. He's tremendously capable and careful, but still, hard not to worry a little. He should be back mid-afternoon, so I'll get another day on my own, and a quiet one, as no one disturbs our usual weekend time together, they know that's the rule... no weekends or evening calls, barring holidays or emergencies. He's offered to do the grocery shop after he gets back in town, as well, so it will be a lovely day for me to focus and get a few things done.
Hope it's been a good day for you,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Hi. I missed two questions:
My hair henna lasts maybe two months, sometimes I let it go three. It's dark dye over dark hair so the roots don't show immediately.
My shirts are Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Jimmy Buffet. Happy memories!

Keep meaning to say thank you to everyone who's commented, complimented, chimed in about what I've been doing with my crafting and sewing and organizing, etc. I'm not sure it's necessarily comfortable, being inside my head or even seeing its inner working, but I appreciate the fact that y'all are willing to participate in my madness. 🤔👀🥰
Do love y'all,

Good afternoon ladies - I've got the crud. Thinking I picked it up at the baby shower last Saturday. Thankfully no sore throat but a little headache and muscle aches, dry cough. Loading up on Vit C, Zinc, Quercetin, elderberry and zinc lozenges. Starting to run a fever. Didn't sleep well last night which didn't help I'm sure. Temperature is up to 100F and has settled in there for now.
Drinking lots of water. Oh, and taking my special fermented garlic cloves in honey. Some of them have been in jars for 2 years. I credit them with keeping a sore throat away, I chewed on some last night before bed. I'm sure it spiked my blood sugar but we must do what we can.
It's almost 2 years to the day I had C - Sept. 2022. I kind of raced through it back then so I'm hoping whatever virus I caught goes quickly.
Anyhow, I've read what you interesting ladies have been up to but nothing is sticking! Maybe tomorrow

Remember the Desiderata? I do.
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace
there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly
and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself
with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater
and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well
as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery
But let this not blind you to what
virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity
and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery,
and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy. ~Max Ehrmann

Today was an egg salad sandwich, with fridge pickled English cucumbers. Then dinner was bbq pork fried rice for eldest son.💖. I had a bowl. I didn't really pay attention to fasting today. I can always get back more into my rhythm when he goes toward the end of this month. On the 2nd I will be watching my cousin's dog, and I am kind of nervous. It will be fine though. I will shore up my eating to tight 2 hour windows, drink a lot of water and just chill with a 12 yr old dog, that I hopefully will take to my sunny disposition.😁💖. Plus do a lot of reading and maybe some watercolor painting. 👍🏼
Have a good weekend ladies!

Thank you Lisa for reminding us of that poem. I love the bit about everyone having a story, even the dull and the ignorant. We can never know what is going on for people, and the whys and wherefores of their behaviour. It is so deep. Nor can we change them. We can love them, and sympathise, but we don't have to spend our precious energy trying to change them, or even staying for long in their proximity.
My new book is about the unfolding of the universe and the miracle of us. Each of us.
This morning I woke up at 5.30 and managed over half an hour of exercises in bed and upright. I do wall pushups at the moment.
I don't usually write at weekends, but may transfer the recent paragraphs I have emailed to myself into a Word document entitled, 'What If ... Rough'. I'm using a very primitive app for my initial jottings, which operates in my mind like a very rough scribble draft in the old days, but it doesn't upload to any cloud. So I 'Copy' and 'Paste' it into an email to myself. Madness, I know, but it works for me, as I find the temporary look of the app less intimidating than Word. Anything to get myself to the page.
I find myself channelling Cas, 'It only has to be 5 minutes! Just 5 words! Anyone can do 5 words!' Of course, it ends up as 450 words and 40 minutes, but the important thing is to get there. Like exercise, or decluttering, or art, or sex - anything worth doing has an element of resistance, because you know you are going to be getting into a flow state of surrender.
We had a bit of rain overnight, but I think the heavy rain forecast isn't going to get as far east as us today. Blue skies at the moment.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx3 -

Apparently, there was a big thunderstorm last night, which I slept through, with my earplugs!
It is now raining. Properly raining.
We've got Scotch Eggs for lunch, with mixed salad, and I'm making Lamb and fresh spinach and potato curry for dinner. John bought two big bags of spinach on Thursday. I have neck fillet of lamb.
Had a lovely shower this morning and washed my hair. Feeling good.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Lanette so sorry you are sick. But it sounds like you are taking good care of yourself. Hope it flies by quickly!
Lisa thank you for sharing that poem. I like the Invictus, too. It makes my troubles seem trivial.
Barbara I love my car, too! Big enough to see out, but small enough to park. Just perfect, and exactly what I'm used to!
Carol yes PT on your own sounds better. Hope it goes well, you have been struggling with that for some time.
Vicki Yay for the new person working out!
Heather Yay for walking! And yes, I always find obstacles to writing. My next story is almost all dialogue, so I couldn't possibly proceed until I know exactly how to punctuate it. One character announced a talk given by another character, so I think the name of the talk goes in single quotes, or is it underlined? Or maybe I should just use exclamation points everywhere like I do online!!!!!
And then there is the whole issue of charging the laptop and working where my Dad won't see it. Challenge after challenge! Lol. Maybe I will write this afternoon.
We are going walking this morning, despite my little foot issues. It's been a week off, so I should be fine.
Have a great day, my friends! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Today will be 5 Mike run day according to the schedule. I have a pinched nerve, starts at my butt (left cheek only) and sometimes shoots down my hamstring. Once I start walking after about 2 miles, it stops. Wondering if that could be my sciatic nerve. I can run with the pain, after awhile I don’t feel it anymore. Maybe because I’m so active it doesn’t get me as hard as it could.

I had a whole long post and this app signed me out. I saved it, I hit the button several times, but it didn’t save. Hope you feel better soon @Lanette, sorry I shared this virus with you! @Lisa, I’m hoping to have a room in a house next year that can be our craft/library/computer room. I love how you all organize and want to emulate you all when we are back in a house next year. @Makcha I love both those sayings. I had quoted you in the lost post.
I finished both gloves in 3 days because knitting hurts the arthritis in my left hand so can’t knit like I want to. I’m starting to crochet an afghan for one of my grandsons next. Knitting completes the 12 different crafts I had a goal for this year!
Dinner yesterday was shrimp with leftover jasmine rice and lots of shredded veggies (carrots, onion, celery) with orange for dessert. I had two servings! Banana and peach during the day so met my goal there.

I finished reading the book I bought for Edie. 'Good People' by the Instagram group, Upworthy, that I follow. Inspiring stories about people helping others. I cried twice.
Now I've got to wrap her HUGE triathlon rucksack!!!
My lamb and spinach curry was a triumph. With raita. Honestly, I've never had better, even in India.
Now to watch a programme about a Viking ship in Norway, one of my favourite countries. 😍

Rita - You'll get there, dear heart, it's almost in reach! This room is my dream, in all reality. It was the dream in years of rented apartments, military housing, rented houses, two company houses, a 5th-wheel trailer, a manufactured home and a travel trailer. I'm genuinely grateful to be able to build this space where I can live my life the way that I'm living it right now. I hope everyone gets this kind of time and space to play and dream and enjoy.
And... in the spoiler is the latest design and creation. It started out as a mockup, but ended up being a full build. That includes three shattered needles, serial jabs from pins, and scalded fingertips from the iron, It showed me a lot about what it's going to take to actually design and build a designer handbag for the first time in 10 years. Sooooo many mistakes, and still far too close to it to see anything but those, but Corey approved, and he doesn't tend to blow smoke or indulge in undeserved flattery.
Was up at midnight, worked on this all night (much was wielding the seam ripper and starting over. And over. And over! 🤪). While the hardware is new, the two different fabrics were thrift-store curtains, a few dollars at most.
Anyway, fell asleep at 9am, while Corey was off upcountry, and staggered alive once more at noon. That gave me the breath to finish the hardware and the finishing things. There are SO many things I will do differently on the next build, and it's already in the mulling it over stage.
For now, it's just trying to hold onto what worked right, jettison what didn't work and continue. The key is just remember which is which! And that's pretty much a life lesson if one that leapt up and smacked me in the face. 😂👀🐈⬛
Hope it is/was a grand Saturday, and that Sunday is lovely and peaceful for us all. Corey's in the kitchen building a lasagna, one of his specialties.
Later y'all,
Love,
