Talked to my mom yesterday and she sounds a lot better, but she is still weak and can only walk from her bed to the bathroom at rehab. Her doctor will see her today to talk to her about what’s next. Glad my sister is there to take charge and help make decisions for her.

DH and Brownie are the same so far.

Dinner yesterday was a leftover chicken thigh, salad with pickled beets, pickled asparagus and a sour cream dressing DH made, corn on the cob, macaroni shells with leftover tomato sauce. Pear for desert. Banana for breakfast. Not healthy supper of popcorn and wine.Time for me to focus more on serving size. They have slowly gotten bigger. It’s habit not need as I was never hungry with the smaller servings. All pickled stuff was made by DH.

woke up coughing/wheezing again this morning- pretty congested- just a cold(son and his girlfriend had it a week or so ago so guessing it is what they had). Skipping zumba tonight. Will just stay home and take it easy this evening.
I have a mom who is supposed to come and pick up our large Little Tikes climbing structure- Lets if this one follows through- the last few said they wanted but canceled after we set up a time. Want it off the deck- it was great when I had all the daycare kids but now with just Ezie and she is too big for it really(and only here a few hours a week), I would love the space back.
Dh and I finished putting the new catio together yesterday. Now we are waiting for the one stray cat that we caught, had fixed to finish healing from his fight wounds at our friends house. He will no longer be able to wander the neighborhood and fight. We will be catching the other stray/feral(mom to the triplets and to the other two kittens we caught)-she is fixed now and will go in the catio with the boy. Safe and secure and a nice comfy warm place to stay in- no more searching for a place to sleep and stay warm.
It is not connected to the main catio but is right next to it. If they are hissy, we can cover the end of it so they don't see each other(may do that in the beginning anyways.)

DH is dropping me off at Black Friday before he goes to his mom's so I get extra time to look. We went there yesterday- some things looked good but $2 good but not $4 good -haha- Hopefully they still have the cat food(they did last week)- $2 a box when Amazon sells it for $25!! Spoiled cats won't be getting that when we run out. We need to do some grocery shopping for his mom then coming home.
Need to clean both fridges out today. We are going up to the veggie/fruit stand tomorrow-first time this season- so need room in the fridges.

If I feel up to it, I also need to clean out the big litter box in the catio(Little Tikes playhouse that we use as their outside litter box-using the pine pellets). They use that thing so much BUT if I put pine pellets in one of the litter boxes in my bathroom with the other boxes, they won't use it. Don't understand that one.

    MFP Weekly Check-In for September 30, 2024

Rita in Roswell, NM - Down 1/2 pound from last week. All time high: 210 all-time low since on MFP 145 pound. Current weight: 173.4 pounds. I’m calling it good!

Sue in WA State - Weight has stayed the same this week. I have done well on exercise but pulmonologist wants me to start 2 minute walks. I still get very short of breath very quickly. I have been a little over on calories every day this past week. Need to work on eating fewer snacks. I will plan to do three 2 minute walks each day in addition to my other exercise.

Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - WT blipped up to 131.2 from last Sunday's 130.5 but weekly average good at 130.5.
    • No idea about sugar, CI<CO, suspect not enough AF days ;{..
    • Steps stank due rib.
    • Back to line dancing last week. This week hope to add BB&B and dog group, PT and Zumba perhaps next week.

Debbie in Napa Valley CA - 148.4- gained 1/4 of a pound

Lanette SW WA State – weight staying within range – has been within half a pound of 158 for the past month and down a total of 8+ pounds since March of this year. Cutting out sugar and “white carbs” and eating nuts for snacks is working. This is easy and sustainable for me.

Barbie - hope Jake's test proves fruitful and his ride to the appointment was pleasant. Enjoy your "Barbie time." :p

Rita - your dinner last night looked great. Glad your mom is doing better, and your DH and Brownie are hanging in there!

Debbie - hope you get over the cold quickly. Sure 'tis the season for this stuff. Crossing fingers the Little Tykes is on its way to a new home and you have your deck back. ;)

Tina - sorry to hear about your eye, the surgery to remove the cyst doesn't sound like fun. Hope the CBD treatment works out for you.

Heather - I was going to comment earlier how nice your grands looked in their matching biking outfits. Involvement with sports takes a lot of parent time, I'm sure, but what a neat way for kids to be active, and learn skills they can use all of their lives.

I'm working on notes to take along when I see Dr. D the foot doctor tomorrow morning. Maybe I should keep it simple. "What can we do that's non surgical to get my toes realigned so they aren't painful anymore?" It might be as simple as doing calf and hamstring stretches four times a day. My appointment is at 7:50 AM, so maybe I'll actually see him by 8:30. :p

It's a beautiful sunny and chilly afternoon here.

I agree I would rather stay in a hotel where I can relax and be myself. When someone comes to visit I am stressed out until they leave. Notice the older I get the worse it gets.
Tina--Prayer your eye gets better soon and without surgery. Any thing close to my eye scares me.
Barbie--Saying a prayer for Jake's appointment goes well and you enjoy your quite time.
They are working on the shower. They have the old unit out and working on putting the new one in. Doesn't sound like they will be done today. So far the pictures I have seen look promising. Be glad when it is done.

I think I’ve recovered from the house guests. It takes me a long time. I guess it’s sort of like jet lag. Takes me 3 hours to recover for every one hour they’re here.

I still cannot lose an ounce of weight. Tomorrow I will start a sort of extreme 3 day eating plan to see if it’ll jump start that. Basically, I’ll eat unseasoned chicken and vegetables for 3 days.

I’m following along and sending virtual good wishes and hugs to all of you for your successes and struggles.

I completely understand about the house guests! I won't stay with someone or have anyone stay with me for more than a night. And those times occur rarely. Most of the time I would much rather stay in a hotel than with someone

    Chicken and vegetables is extreme?

    M in Oz

Yes the diet is extreme, but just for 3 days. I can also eat ground Turkey or I just read the plan was updated to also include lean beef. But, I’ll stick to poultry for now. Don’t need a bunch of groceries taking up freezer space. I can also use seasonings EXCEPT salt and sugar.

I read this really helps. But, it likely wasn’t created with post-menopausal women in mind. I am just trying to see if it’ll kick start some loss.

I’d much rather longer term guests stay in a hotel too. Most of our guests stay 3 nights or less. That’s ok. Next time, I’ll probably schedule a trip during that time. I cannot sanely do it again.

Barbara-I don’t really see a need to wait on the extreme plan. The eye doesn’t hurt or bother me. It’s just ugly.

Chicken and vegetables is more or less what I normally eat. 😀

Sometimes I replace the chicken with chickpeas.

:) I have been preoccupied with the dogs and Jake's angiogram so I almost forgot that it's the day to post the new thread. Jake called after the procedure and all went well. They didn't do anything radical and he'll be ready to be picked up in about two hours. The friend who is going to pick him up is going to bring him some favorites from Taco Time.

:) Here is the link to the new thread for October

Three things for which I am thankful:
    It’s a beautiful day.
We spending the weekend with our DED and granddaughter in Oxford.
Our elder grandson is joining us today.
