There are no requirements. I started it because I want to be able to support other people in a positive environment as support for myself. I am dedicating to do this for the rest of my life. I have a skeletal disorder that makes me disabled and I have diabetes. So I can empathize with struggles.
I'm looking forward to making friends with people who are also aiming to make their lives healthier.2 -
My favorite group is Men over 60. Most of the groups on MFP are focused on women. Here is a group focused on older men, their needs, their diets, their tastes, and their challenges.1

Omg, this challenge is great, you guys! SO well done. They build out a whole world, there are 'Terms' (usually 5wks or 8wks or similar). Weekly Classroom Assignments, Quidditch (Exercise), Potions (Food), Defense Against the Dark Arts/Other (Potterdom trivia, or creative challenges, usually). There are optional other challenges too - Hogsmeade Weekend, Room of Requirement Popup Challenges, Housewide Events, like Quidditch Matches, or Races, or Scavenger Hunts. It's fantastic, you should try it!

It's for obese people like me, who have a lot to lose. For me, it's a lifestyle change. I have lost 40+ pounds so far (it's going back and forth right now). It's for people who are not taking weight loss medication. It's for people who are determined.
I got diagnosed with Type2 diabetes in August 2024 and it terrified me. I was offered weight loss medication (for diabetes and weight loss) and I didn't want to take it. I got obese on my own, I wanted to give it one more serious try so I started. Fast forward five months. I still have 100 pounds to lose, but I am now more mobile. I had a lot of non-scale victories and I have changed my life (eating) style for good.
Join me (us) if you want to be a determined loser as well.

Larger Losers where we would welcome a visit by all MFP humans and foxes ๐ฆ regardless of whether they are tame or not!
Even though I have to admit that @totameafox does an awesome job promoting her group.... I still believe that the larger losers group ain't half bad either! ๐ Probably because, way back when, Novus articulated a lot of my own findings and beliefs even better than I could myself. And because of the crowd that hangs out there!1 -
I'm not exclusive. I'll be happy to have people that are members of more than one group. But I'm also happy if someone choose another group over mine if they are getting value out of it.

GoaD is in its 3rd decade as an online community after starting on the former WW message boards. Daily check-ins, recurring discussion threads, and off-topic fun. The Biggest Loser Challenge team has a number of teams within it - there is something for everyone here - join the registration team to apply for the team of your choice and find out more.
I believe it has been going for around 20 years (previously it was on SparkPeople), and I love it. There are 3 challenges a year but you can join at any time of year because there is a team (White Rabbits) for latecomers.
Although it is a challenge, there are teams for those of us who are more in need of encouragement than a challenge. Everyone is so supportive and friendly and encouraging here. Why don't you come and join us? :-)

If anyone is interested in using it, I created a group for people to post their training logs and their personal fitness journal and journey. I created because I didn't see where there was anything section for a personal fitness log on my fitness pal and didn't want to flood the board with my own log.
