For me personally, I've never been to strippers, male or female. I don't "get" being excited about naked people. I've been taking care of people since I was 15 (nurse's aide, then nurse, now nurse practitioner), I see naked people all the time. Old wrinkly ones and young hot ones. Honestly, we're all naked under our clothes; why would I pay good money to see something I get paid (quite well) to see all day long? A boob is a pecker is an arm is a face--body parts are body parts. It's just not all that interesting to me.

Clearly there's a demand or there wouldn't be any strip clubs. While it may not be essential that doesn't mean it should be outlawed. The vast majority of people work jobs that are not essential for survival in the strictest sense.

I think there should be too. I'd always prefer to give a woman the chance to pursue any career she wanted. I don't see how limiting one possible option does anything to help that.

You don't see it because it's not something you would ever see. That doesn't mean it's not a reality. It means you have a limited world view. If a woman becomes a sex worker to help put food on the table and pay the bills she has helped herself and her family. And she did without caring about whatever judgement you wanted to put on her for it.

Just because there is a demand doesn't mean that there should be a supply. A good example would be illegal drugs. Just as drugs cause problems in society, so does the exploitation of women via pornography, strip clubs, etc. How many people do you think would like a strip club built in their neighborhood?

And although stripping is a paying job and legal option for a woman, it doesn't make it a good option. It's just an option. And a poor one at that. There is so many things that a woman could do and can do without putting herself in a position to be exploited. Would you want your wife or daughter stripping?

And I'm not judging any woman who choses stripping as a job to put food on the table either. Unfortunately many of these women feel that they have no choice but to put themselves out there like a piece of meat. It's sad. The reality is that there is a demand for it and unfortunately many women feel that they don't have the skill set to do something else. Stripping does pay well; but at what cost?

I went once when I was 18, fun but not my kind of atmosphere. They've since made it illegal for girls to actually get naked in my state, thongs and pasties aren't going to do anything for me, no reason to go.

Yeah, I do sort of mind. But I'll watch porn with him all day if the men are good looking enough. I figure it's a fair compromise, and much cheaper.

I have never been to one before, but would be down to go with my man. If he REALLY wants to see a stripper, id just biuy a pole for "weight loss reasons" and do a little dance for him, instead of some girl named Candy doing it

I feel it isn't my place to tell others what they "should" be doing with their lives.

You say you're not judging them. But then you say that their chosen career is a bad option. That they've made poor choices. That they've chosen to exploit themselves. That they put themselves out there like pieces of meat.

Just what would it sound like if you WERE judging them?

It would really bother me. It's not about trust or jealousy or anything like that for me. I don't care when my fiance watches porn or checks out other women as long as it doesn't interfere with our sex life. And I trust him completely, I don't think he would do anything reprehensible at a strip club or anywhere else.. but I would feel utterly disrespected if some other woman's business was all over my guy. I think that's what it's about for me.. respect. If you truly respect the woman you're with, I think there are boundaries you just don't cross. These boundaries vary for every couple, of course.. but that's where mine lie.

There will always be strip clubs, porn shops and porn. It's just how it is. Men are visual creatures and are stimulated by seeing naked women, sex, etc. In all honesty I wouldn't mind if a strip club opened up in my town. Hell I'd be psyched because it would mean we wouldn't have to drive an hour to go to one. The misconception is that these girls "have" to strip and the majority of the time that is not the case. We talk to the girls who dance for us when we go and some of them have other jobs or they really are putting themselves through college and will go on to do something else. Stripping is easy fast and damn good money.

I would totally strip if I needed extra cash. Hell I have a strippers pole in my living room that my husband bought me for my birthday a few years ago.

And I'm not judging any woman...

    Yes you are.

Every person judges others regardless if they say they don't or not.

    I judge everyone.

    I wouldn't mind a bit, but,

I've never dated the kind of men who go to strip clubs.

I did, however, date a stripper for a little wihle.

    True story.

    .
    .
    .
come to think of it, between my boyfriend and I, I am WAY more likely to go to a strip club anytime soon than he is.

Same here. My man couldn't care less about going to a strip club, even when I suggest it. Turns out, I'm more interested in going than he is.
