This is NOT written in haiku format. For shame!!!

<~~ B.A in creative writing. And not to be a jerk, but since you are a poetry teacher surely you must know that a haiku does not have to always be 5-7-5 :flowerforyou: :drinker:

True...IF you are writing a haiku in its origin language (because it may not translate to 5-7-5 in English.) As a Language Arts teacher (poetry is just one of the concepts I teach), I ask my students to stay true to form. Thus, I teach them that, if you do not follow the rules of a specified poetic form, it should be considered "free verse."

In my class, if you turned in your poem as a "haiku" assignment, I would assume you didn't understand the syllable pattern and grade you accordingly. My poetry professor always said..."If it's not 14 lines of iambic-pentameter verse, beginning with three quatrains and ending in a couplet, with a rhyme scheme of a-b-a-b-c-d-c-d-e-f-e-f-g-g, don't call it a Shakespearean Sonnet"

Anyhow- kudos for being creative, I admire that! :flowerforyou:

    Edit for a haiku...

    I like being right.
I will tell you when you're wrong.
    Listen and take notes.
