No calorie adjustment for walking?
Hi, I'm slightly confused and wondering if anyone can shed light! Yesterday I walked quite a long way and my Fitbit synced with MFP and adjusted my calories accordingly. It said I'd burned something like an extra 350 cals through exercise and added them to my allowance, as well as showing an accurate step count. That allā¦

What are your BACK DAY staples?
Today is back & biceps. I always start up with Assisted Pull-ups to help get me to my goal to one Unassisted, so pullups are my staple. I need some different exercises to incorporate into my workouts, I'm hitting a plateau...

Calorie Burn Count
I am seeing wildly varied calorie burn from some of these posts. There are a lot of different calorie counters out there, watches, heart rate monitors, exercise equipment, and they all seem to give us different reads. I have been exercising almost my entire adult life and I know pretty much that calorie count is usuallyā¦

Gyms and Mat Etiquette
Yaāll. Be considerate and donāt walk on other folksā mats at the gym. If Iāve chosen to get out a mat, Iām probably going to have my face close to the ground at some point. I donāt care to be putting my face where your shoes have just been. Itās just simple courtesy. Iām probably preaching to the choir here, but mats are aā¦

Where am I going wrong?
I've been weight lifting on and off since 2020 and after Christmas I started following the Madcow programme. I had to decrease my weights because due to an injury I had some time off. At the minute my max 5x5 for squat is 50, same with deadlifts, my bench is 22, row is about 25. These are feeling really heavy and I feelā¦

Oppinions- is my work day a workout?!
Ok so usually, I walk between 3-4000 steps a day when I'm not working. That's my base level of activity. When I work a double shift at work (10-12 hours) I do around 12,000 steps. Sometimes closer to 20,000 if it's really busy and I'm charging around. I don't break a sweat, its walking. I'm on my feet for the entire timeā¦

Fueling long run
I've been running for a while now, but my runs are getting longer and I think I'm not fueling adequately. I didn't usually fuel at all for my runs because most of them aren't that long. But I first had an issue after a 17km run (anything up to 12km was fine) where I felt fine during, but nauseous and weak starting a fewā¦

Strength Training on Vegetarian Diet
I have been strength training for years. YEARS. Eight years to be exact. My max weights have plateaued for years. YEARS. About six years to be exact. While I continue to keep lifting through injuries and medical issues, I would really like to see my one rep max numbers go up. I highly suspect the problem is my diet. For aā¦

Southern hemisphere winter is coming
Mornings are getting darker, and there's a real early morning chill now. Days are getting shorter and its a race after work to get the walk or run in. I find I increase the intensity of my exercise when there's less daylight and reduce the time im exercising. Gone are the longer, slower walks and runs when it's too hot toā¦

My calories vs mfp calories on cardio
Iām 265lbs and I do interval training for an hour on different inclines at 3.0mph but then I push a little higher on the speed at the last 10 minutes on the treadmill. The treadmill says I burned 586 but when I used mfp it says I burned way more like 1100 so which one is accurate? Need help please.

5.0 mph walk is how fast?
Roughly how fast is a 5.0 mph walk. an awkward question as a 5.0 mph walk is exactly 5.0 mph. But I was wondering in more descriptive terms what how fast would a 5.0 mph walk look? Is it almost to the point of jogging?

Weight gain and endurance running
I ran my 5th marathon a week ago, and after avoiding the scale for months I stepped on and found I gained about 10 lbs. I know for sure that's not all muscle weight because I've definitely put on some fat in the belly area. This is the first year this has happened to me (in previous years I had the opposite problem). I'mā¦

Adding Exercise When You Are DONE With It.
What does it mean to be DONE with exercise? For me, it is a feeling of aversion to exercise after years and years of it. Golf
I was playing around and was looking for golf. This say golf with a power cart burns over 400 cals per hour. I realize that it is better than sitting on the couch but really? Do you actually think I should log 1200 cals burned over my baseline just for driving around the course for 3 hrs? I golf at least once a week andā¦

How much should I eat before morning lift?
I normally lift in the afternoon/evening but need to switch it for vacation. I've struggled with morning lifts before feeling weak. If I eat a 300 calorie breakfast, how long should I wait to lift? 1.5 hour? Do I need more or less? (I'm 101 lbs)

Is it weird DOMS or something else?
I've been having some new and unusual (for me) pains during and post-workouts for the past couple of weeks and am a little puzzled. Contemplating yoga teacher training
Iāve been doing yoga on and off since 2012-ish. For the first couple of years I had a consistent (6 days a week) mysore style ahstanga practice. Exercise Intolerance
I'm sure this will be a controversial topic. Does anyone else have it? I've suspected for years that I have it and recent events have stoked my suspicions even more. Steps calories always ZERO
I have messed around so much with this and tried enabling and disabling everything. I've turned off the steps, synced, and tried again. Yet today finally I realized it tracks my steps but will not give me calories burned. I haven't inputed any other exercise. I'm walking only. Why?

Isolation Exercise Imbalance
I'm at a point where when doing bent over dumbbell rows my right side is stronger than my left. I could probably add more weight to the right side, but the left is near failure on the last one or two reps. I am not sure how to continue. Should I keep the weight the same until my left side catches up, or just keep addingā¦
