Did a Shamrock 5k today!
So I have been reaching so many goals since the first of the year! This morning I did a Shamrock 5k run! Haven't done a 5k in 5 years. I have done so many things: exercising, eating healthy, lost 10 lbs., drinking lots of water...can't wait to do some more 5k and possibly a 10k.

Not feeling it in my glutes….,
I just started strength training at home. I’ve been using a case of water as weight while doing squats, hip thrust and deadlifts. I do not feel that my glutes are being worked. I feel pain in my knees and hamstring. Am I doing something wrong?

Question about wearable step counters.
Is there a step counter that you can wear that adds steps to My Fitness Pal, or do they all just adjust calorie count. My wife bought a Garmin Vivofit 4 and when we connected it to My Fitness Pal, it will only sync up the calories, it doesn't add any steps. When we tried to make it her primary step counter, it kept giving…

Fitbit elliptical step count
I have a Fitbit Charge 4 that I wear all the time. When I do my elliptical, I start the Elliptical activity on my watch, and end it when I am done. I have noticed that my step count after the elliptical is way low. As an example, today I did about 1.25 miles. My elliptical has a 20" stride length, so that should have been…

Weight loss and Endurance cycling
I've signed up to ride the London Revolution in October. Its 156 miles over two days and both days will each be further than I have yet cycled. So I am considering this to be an endurance activity. But I am also cutting calories in an attempt to lose weight mostly because I think the hills will be slightly easier if I'm…

Favorite workout clothes brand and why?
I'm a combination of Lulu Lemon, Nike and Adidas. All for different reasons. Lululemon shorts the best. Nike and Adidas T-shirts just seem to fit without being baggy.

Hip problems! I need a workout I can actually do.
I'm hoping someone can help me find a good workout for weight loss that's easy on the hips. I have a screw in my left hip and osteoarthritis in that same hip. I am 28 years old and needing a hip replacement 🙄. So my goal is to lose weight to see if that will help my hip instead of getting a hip replacement. I rarely eat…

FYI for iFIT users
I've got my iFIT pointed to my MFP and my MFP pointed to my Garmin. All my workouts synced until a few days ago. iFIT support just told me the sync with 3rd party apps is currently down. They're working on it but have no ETA. They said workouts should sync retroactively once it's back up.

Garmin, Strong, Jefit, GymRun, etc?
I just got a Garmin Venu 2 Plus. I loaded my workouts in and I'm REALLY enjoying the gym experience! (super simple. hit the button to start. hit the button to stop. adjust reps/weight if needed until my watch tells me i'm done resting. repeat.) I'm worried about it's ability to track gains though. The reporting in Garmin…

How long is your gym session?
I want to share an observation and a question in the end. When it comes to the gym - I have always been an in and out person. Before work/during lunch break/evening class. Come in, do your routine, out. 1h including changing clothes. And it seemed like people around me did the same. No one was slacking around the machines,…

good app to use with heartrate chest monitor
i'm exercising primarily on exercise bikes, so i'm looking for an app recommendation that will store heartrate, give me an alarm if i go over, and all that good stuff. the apps i used to use tracked distance or steps, so i need something more appropriate for my current, non-stepping exercise.

Manipulating the Calories Remaining Calculation
Is there a way to manipulate the Exercise credit to the Calories Remaining Calculation? I would like to not quite get full credit, but say 0.50 to 0.75 of the exercise calorie credit reported to MFP by my FitBit. I don't entirely trust the calorie estimate from the FitBit and would like to modify the value in the form of a…

Best fitness tracker with pulse monitor?
I’m looking at the Garmin Vivofit 4 (want to track heart rate and steps) - what are you all using and what do you like / dislike? I don’t want a big watch face (I’m petite), don’t need a GPS and I don’t need to accurately track calorie expenditure as I’m in maintenance and know what my TDEE is . I know HRM aren’t as…

syncing schwinn recumbant stationary bike with MFP
I've gradually moved all of my fitness activities to MFP. Schwinn alleges that my new 270 recumbent bike will link to MFP. Nothing in the documentation explains how to do this (and Schwinn's online support wasn't helpful either) and some random fiddling with MFP hasn't reveal the answer. Any suggestions? The bike is great,…

Advice on which Apple Watch to choose
Hello, I would like opinions/advice on the most economical/useful model. I have been using Fitbit Versa. I see that the lowest model of Apple Watch that is still supported is 3. Treadmill Walking
I walk in my treadmill for about an hour every day (though I split it x3 times for 21 minutes each time). My treadmill clocks 130 calories for each 21 minutes. Whereas MFP gives me 99 calories. I guess the app is giving me fewer, for just a straightforward level walk. And guessing my treadmill is higher because it takes…
