Unsaturated fat amounts
Why are there such small amounts of unsaturated fats allotted in the nutrition section of MFP? I concentrate on keeping my saturated numbers low, but I am always way up on the unsaturated fats at the end of the day.

Looking for support
Hi everyone, I'm doing well on my weight loss journey. However, I get to 109.3 kilos or 241 pounds and I cannot get past it. I do a lot of walking daily and I go to the gym twice a week. To date I've lost 16.2 kilos or 37.1 pounds.

Weight loss
I've been following this app to a T. My recommended caloric intake and macros are being followed pretty good. I have a hard time meeting the dietary goal of each day because it's hard to eat that much. Each time I close our my daily diary it tells me I'm doing great and estimates how much weight I'll lose in 5 weeks. So…

Weight loss help?
I’m currently 359 pounds. 26, F 5’5 I did a lot of research and asked people on this app and everyone recommended IIFYM calculator to calculate my BMR/ TDEE. My TDEE is 2,839 for sedentary to get a better idea of things, but I do workout 5 days a week, an hour each day. To lose weight I need to eat roughly 2,300 calories a…

Accuracy of Workout Calories Burned
I just started tracking my gym workouts with MFP. Previously I just let my Apple Watch log calories based on time of a Function Strength workout. The MFP calorie estimate is about twice the Apple Watch. I would expect MFP to be more accurate given the specifics of weight and reps, however I am finding it very hard to…

Metabolism help please!?
Hi everyone! First time posting here. I am in desperate need of some advice. For years I have struggled with my weight. I have spent so long on super calorie restrictive/ very low refined carbs that my body really just got used to that being the norm. If I ate more the 500-700 calories per day or anything different than…

The Struggle is REAL!
Hello everyone! My name is Izzie! I've been using MFP on and off for about a year now but for the last few months I have logged every single day (except holidays where I can't go on my phone). I was eating balanced meals (30% fat/carb and 40% protein) and reaching about 1000-1200 calories per day for about a month and my…

Good morning folks, just wondering if I could be directed to a website that helps me determine how many calories I should be aiming for on a daily basis ? Thanks in advance.

Calorie deficit and macros
I go back and forth between focusing on a calorie deficit and macros. Goal is to lose 20 lbs so I feel like if I focus on the deficit I can just not worry about carbs so much. Still get my protein numbers but just worry less about keeping carbs low. Everyone always seems to think low carb is the way to weight loss though…

Track net carbs instead of calories
Hi, My questions: Can I set up the app to prioritize tracking the carbs over the calories? Or not track calories at all? Background: I'm 30 weeks pregnant and am tending towards gestational diabetes (despite working out the whole time and trying to watch what I eat). Now I need to watch my carbs and sugar intake more than…

Rewiring your brain takes time, transparency, and knowledge
I don't know if anyone needs to read this, but I am fascinated with how, as humans, we can get stuck in ruts for weeks, months, years, and sometimes decades with very little success. In my own life, looking back, I always thought I was doing everything I could to "fix" a situation, and it usually wasn't until later that I…

Help!!
I have started counting macros about 3 weeks ago. Myfitnesspal set me at 1650 calorie a day goal. 75 grams of protien, 188 grams of carbs and 45 grams of fat. I've been hitting my goals every single day without going over and I haven't lost any weight thus far, only gained 4 pounds. I got to the gym twice a day. I don't…

Changes to definitions and advice
I'm putting this up mainly for discussion and I haven't triple checked the numbers and all that. Something Ann mentioned in a post about changes to definitions, together with people getting higher goals prompted me to re-check a maintenance setup based on various "activity level" options. MFP used to be based on Mifflin…

Menopausal Journey
Happy to say that I don't have the "HAWT" flashes or the mood swings. I am past my pre-menopausal and have entered the menopausal for 3 years now... so its been 6 years so far. Calories on dashboard and weight loss goal
I put my goal as losing 1 pound a week, and slightly active. The dashboard says 2300 calorie goal. Is that to lose the weight? Seems like it’s closer to my basal metabolic rate. Does my activity level matter if I’m logging my walks and runs?
