Any women successfully lost love handles?
25 year old 5’5 130ish pound Female here. I’ve been lifting on and off for the past 2 years. Been slacking lately due to work schedule but over the past week I’ve taken it back up and rejoined a gym so I can get back to heavier weights again. My main goal is to feel comfortable in a swim suit again. I haven’t really since…

Weight gain vs muscle
Does weight gain have a direct correlation to strength? I'm currently bulking and I'm wondering if I should be seeing rapid results with the weight I've gained or if it should take awhile to turn the fat into muscle. I'd like to hear others results with weight gain and bulking in correlation to their strength.

Weight training beginner
I’ve started weight training. Always been pretty athletic and muscular so decided to embrace that and dedicate most of my gym time to weights. After months of no exercise and having piled on the pounds I rejoined my gym. First session I was on the hip adductor squeezing in so weights on inner thighs. I lifted 95kg. Second…

Can you gain "permanent" muscle mass? What happens when you stop lifting?
So say you have been weight training for 10 years and because of life circumstances you have to stop. After some time do you go back to where you were before you started lifting? Or is there a permanent change to your physique?

I don’t understand weight gain
Hi I am a 45 year old woman and up until a year ago I weighed 105 pounds. I walked every day but I decided that I wanted to be more fit so I joined a gym. I had a body fat % of 19% and I was pretty happy. (But I wanted a challenge.) I hired a trainer and we started slow focusing on form and I continued with cardio every…

Gaining in the Glutes
I am currently 67in and 131lb. Because I am a bit below my maintenance range (135-140) I am going to go on a surplus to gain back and may want to go up to 145. However, I like the look of my upper body and really just want to build my lower body. I am lifting an upper lower split currently so I hit muscle groups twice a…

Cutting calories…

Body Fat Caliper Measurements
Hey all, Because I heard that they are a good tool for tracking ones progress during a bulk, I bought a body fat caliper. I took my reading today and am a bit floored by the result. I ended up with between a 5-8% BF! I knew I was very lean (131 at 5’7 and male) but I can’t see my abs! I have had picture estimates from…

Slowly increasing deadlifts
I’m doing a linear progression adding 5 to my squat every workout and had been doing clean deadlifts (not clean pulls) alongside it progressing at roughly the same increase. Obviously my clean deadlift was with lower weight than my actual deadlift but I’m going back to conventional for the next 12 weeks. I am restarting my…

Modified PHUL programming - is this just as effective?
I downloaded the PHUL Workout mobile app and tried following the recommended schedule but find that I can only commit 30-45 min per day to lifting so I end up not finishing the prescribed workout. I pause that workout and continue the second part the next day. I’m supposed to have a rest day after upper and lower power…

"Eat this or that"
Okay this one is a little bit of a rant. I'm a small guy trying to gain weight and I constantly get people telling me to eat specific foods (avocados, nuts, granola, pasta) etc. As if its going to solve all my weight gain issues by having 1 serving of peanut butter. Not that these are bad suggestions because those are…
