Maintaining weight
It is VERY DIFFICULT for me to lose weight. I work over nights, so most of the time I'll be sleeping. My eating habits are off as well. So I can't figure out a diet plan or workout as much because I need to sleep during the day. I do some light lifting at work, how would I be able to get started, and find the right plan…

how do I start maintaining without putting pounds on?
Should I go from 1200 to 1300 cals in the first week, 1400 in the second and so on? Or would it be okay if I increased by 200 cals each week? Currently I'm eating 1200, and I haven't reached my goal yet. But my GW is 130lbs, I'm 5'3. I exercise 5 times a week for a minimum of 30 mins.Acording to MFP my maintenance calories…

Maintenance after weight loss tips
Last week I hit my goal weight and so decided to start working up to maintenance. Throughout my weight loss journey I fluctuated between 1200 - 1500 calories a day depending on how stressful my week was so that I wasn't worrying about those red numbers when I had other stuff to worry about. I decided then that to start my…

I LOVE this app because after my first pregnancy, this is what I used to get back to pre-pregnancy weight and it worked sooooo great! I even accomplished my goal of running a half marathon! (Well more like a 25k) but I was just soooo happy, healthy,…

Hi everyone! Looking to get some feedback on how myfitnesspal has helped you in your weight loss journey. I've used it before and it really helped me in the past, but I'm trying to get back on it to help hold me accountable for what I eat. Bad results, lately, not sure how to find a good maintenance level
'Lo, folks. So I've been trying to figure out a good maintenance level for a while, and I have yet to do so. I lost 250 pounds and got down to around 170 over a couple years. Back in November I was doing 4 hours a day, for cardio, plus an hour of weight lifting. I had a strict diet of 2,000 calories a day. I'd hit 170…

Not so nice "support"
I lost FIFTY pounds and recently gained about five back. I have stopped logging calories but remain mindful of my eating and continue to workout (cardio and weight lifting) five days a week. I feel like the gain is likely muscle and TOM this week. I have been at maintenance since October. 5'4" and 134 lbs Tonight my…

Confused.
I used to maintain while eating 1300cal + fitbit cal but then I decided to try upping it to 1400cal + fitbit cal. I ended up gaining 2 kg so I went back to eating 1200+ fitbit cal but couldn't shake the weight off. So now I'm now eating 1300+ fitbit cal. Why is that so?? Should I try to lose those 2 ifs? Because sometimes…

Maintain weight but change to muscle
I'm at 170 lbs right now, which is a very good weight for my activity level and body. My only issue is changing the weight from my stomach into solid muscle. Any good ideas?

Maintenance Transition Mind Games
I thought it was going to be so easy to eat 1520 (AKA the maintenance for my goal weight), but I see that number and get terrified because I haven't regularly eaten that much in a long, long time. I'm comfortable hovering around my 1300-1400 gross (900-1100 net) even though I know that's completely wrong and not what I…

Any tips to stay/get even leaner and ripped when maintaining
I'm currently 6'3 200lbs, I was up around 215 but felt like I could cut some of the baggage. Never practiced the whole bulking season/cut season crap just believed in hard work and discipline. I take no supplements other than the odd prewirkout & of course fish oils. Just wondering if anyone had any tips that they have…

First week of maintainence - gained weight.
Last week was my first week of maintainence. I went from 1,200 calories per day to 1,300 per day (I don't eat back exercise calories). There were three days I ate under 1,300, but not one day over. When I weighed this morning, I was shocked to see that I had gained 1/2 a pound! My plan was to eat 1,400 per day this week,…

When did you switch?
So I'm finding that losing the last ten pounds or so has been a bit of a grind, especially since I' more interested in fat loss. I'm not going to look any different two pounds from now. Low maintenance calories?
Hey guys, I keep seeing posts about how people are happily maintaining on a surprisingly high number of calories. Once in a while I'll even stumble upon posts where the OP is losing on 1600 a day. While I'm really happy for those who can, I'm a bit bummed out by my maintenance of ~1350. Anyone else out there feeling the…

Astonishing realization about maintaining
So I started here with a "goal" - a set number of pounds I want to drop. This morning, I was thinking about maintenance and I realized....this IS maintenance! Eating ~1400 cal per day, which is how I'm losing it, is also how I'll maintain this. Because my body will know its level when it gets there. It may want to lose…

Why I need to keep logging . . .
I dropped by Paneras with my teen son today to celebrate with a snack. He bought a nice cheese danish. I bought a delicious pumpkin muffin. As soon as I started eating I realized it was twice as much as I wanted and split it with him. All good - I was a little full, but not much, and just ate a little less at dinner. Just…
