Increasing Calories For Maintenance
I'm 15 years old, 5'8 and 124 pounds. I fell into the trap of 1200 calories a day, and ate this amount while burning 400-700 calories 5 days/week exercising, in addition to being fairly active at school during the day and walking home, etc. I did this for about 6 months, lost 40 pounds, and have since increased to…

I've always been doing weekly calorie counting which averages to 1500cal a day. so I was thinking I still keep track on my vacation and try to eat around 1800cal a day. during…

Slow down 2 lb/wk pace, before goal, for better maintenance?
Howdy y'all. I'm down about 35 lb now, since the beginning of October. It's been an average pace of just over 2 lb/week, which is what I've been shooting for. I'm not sure if I'll go for a full 60 lb lost (to ~165-ish) or knock it off at 50 lb (175). Ultimately, though, here's my concern: This is my **3rd** or maybe even…

My dietician keeps body shaming me :(
So I was underweight and unhealthy. I was 85 lbs and 5'2, female, 19. I took it upon myself to grow up and get some damn help. So I scouted out my own doctor and nutritionist and left the pediatrician I had as a kid. Now I go see my nutritionist (RD, LDN) once a week, but as of late we are conflicting. At first, about two…

Gained all the weight I lost?
A couple years ago I was about 120lbs. Since I was so active last year, I shed off 10lbs and went down to 110 . Last summer I would run almost 3 miles a day, but this summer I didn't even get off my butt. I used to be 110 (I'm 5'2) and now I'm going on 125! This is probably the heaviest I've ever been. I gained so much…

Tile vs. Hardwood weighing?
So I recently moved and I used to weigh in my room on hardwood. I had to switch to the bathroom tile once I was in the new house because I have carpet in my room and hardwood is in the living room/hallway only and I didn't wanna weigh out in the open naked lol. So naturally, this morning got up, weighed and was in my range…

How do you decide what to set your goal settings to?
I've been using MFP for almost a month, and so far it's pretty cool--but I see a lot of people talking on the forums about over/underestimating their daily intake/needs so now I'm a little curious. How do you determine whether to put "sedentary", "lightly active", etc.? Like, what counts? I put myself as "sedentary"…

Cheat days on maintenance calories?
This weekend, I went out to dinner and got a huge rack of bbq ribs and chocolate cake for pudding. Combined with drinking alcohol, I probably racked up about 4000 calories this day. This isn't usual for me, but I maintain at about 2000 calories per day. My question is, do I now need to 'make up' for this weekend's splurge…

Does your metabolism eventually speed up?
This stint on MFP is my first ever attempt to lose weight. I'm 55. I hit my goal range 18 months ago. I'm 5'10", with a goal range of 150-155. I was between 150-153 for about a year, mostly at the 153 end during the winter, at the 150 end when it is warmer. Starting in June I first dropped down 150 and am now at 146. I've…

I used to be a member of MFP and deleted my account a few months ago.
