Those last few pounds
Hello, hope it's OK posting in here but guessed that this is where all the people that could answer would hang out. I've got 6 more pounds to lose and I'll reach my goal weight of 140lb and a fairly arbitrary BMI of 20. It's all gone like clockwork until the last couple of weeks, losing on average 1lb a week. Now I'm stuck…

Got down to my first goal weight, now what?
Ok so I started a yr and 9 months ago today to change my lifestyle. I was 278 and I felt horrible. Fresh break up from a 4 yr engagement and super depressed. As of 15 days ago I was at my first goal weight of 220-224. Well I decided to make a new goal weight of 200 by new years. Ruffly 25 pound to go. I thought easy right,…

When did you decide to stop?
I'm struggling with figuring out when to stop losing weight. Everytime I reach my goal I make a new one! At 5'7 I started at 135 and I just passed my most recent goal of 120! I cant figure out when I should stop losing weight or maybe just focus on toning? Have any of you struggled with deciding this? Thanks!

When Goal Achieved, how long to change new weight in MFP
Let me clarify. For those who have achieved a level of satisfaction with their 'new weight. and maintained it, have any of you changed your profile's permanent weight to your new weight? In other words, do any of you post as the 'new you'?

Recovering Anorexic period problems, I need advice/help
This one is for the ladies out there: First, here is a summery of my story. I recovered from anorexia about 2 months ago, I had it for over a year and am officially 'recovered' (Not that I will ever lose all the anorexic thoughts, its kind of a part of me now) More than a year ago I lost my period and haven't had it since…

Transition advice...
Hey everybody! I am new to actually posting topics in the forums...I usually just sit back and try to absorb all of the great information and excellent comedy of the community threads sticking my two cents in occasionally. I figured its time to ask my own questions so here goes. This week I realized that I am…

Stayed under 200 for 2 weeks
I hit my goal weight of under 200 pounds a few weeks ago and now I'm working in building more lean muscle. For the past 2 weeks, I have lost 1 pound which is basically no change. I know that maintaining is much harder than loser weight so I feel like this has been a big success. My only problem is that I'm a little…

Maintaining after so long...
I'm not there yet (my goal weight), but I've been thinking ahead... When I make it, how do I maintain it? After eating 1400 calories for so long, how do you up those? That's a big change. That's adding another meal in calories. Any tips?

Logging at Christmas
Okay, so I know there is a long time yet until it's Christmas! But with all the sweets, cakes being shelved in stores at the moment you can't help thinking it's only around the corner! I've never really been on MFP long enough to be logging at Christmas, wanted to know if you log at Christmas or whether you decide to go…

I don't know what to eat
It may sound stupid but i don't know what the best foods are to eat each day. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm nearly at my goal, 7-10lbs to go. I go to the gym 3-5 times a week. I struggle to reach 1,200 calories a day, because I simply do not know what to eat. I started eating a lot of fruit, but this is all very high…

Not sure how to 'maintain'
This is the first time that I've watched what i ate- but, in my case, I'm thinking it's a lifestyle change... I've lost close to 45 lbs and I'm at my goal. I really don't know how to 'maintain' my weight. I put in a new goal on the site, but I don't know how to eat to get my calories up by 600 cal. I don't want to eat junk…

unexpected experience
I recently hit my goal and switched to maintenance. my new calorie goal went up about 800. I am having difficulty hitting that number. I enjoy the lower cal lunches that that I switched to and I am aware of the approximate counts of food and find it hard to not pick weight friendly meals.

Managed to maintain for 9 months
I realised yesterday I was still the same weight I was mid December and over Christmas last year. I had maintained a 14.5 stone weight loss (203 pounds). It took me nearly two years to lose that amount. I know I haven't stayed the same weight all the time but it has only gone up 5 pounds or so but always gone down again. I…

Two weeks on MFP - just saw a drastic drop in weight
Hello everyone, I was hoping to get a bit of perspective from you guys on what I am looking at right now weight dropping wise. I joined this site exactly 15 days ago, and have been doing daily exercise for 16 days. I have a mildly active job, and had a cal allotment in the 1800's and generally I am around 20-100 short…

Why am I gaining weight?
Okay, let me get this out of the way. I thought it was water weight when it first started happening, but since I've been steadily gaining since Feb, I don't think it's all water. I hit my goal (and then some) in Jan, then decided to try upping my cals a bit to maintain. I started gaining weight. I lowered the cals, and…

My metabolism is coming back
I've lost 65 pounds, and for much of it I was eating around 1400-1500 calories gross. That is, I didn't eat back my exercise calories. Yes, that's low. Yes, I know it. So when I got to about 180 pounds, I decided I needed to stop losing, up my calories, and give my body time to get my metabolism back. I maintained weight…

How did you change your workouts once you hit your goal??
I am getting close to hitting my goal weight (yay)...hopefully in the next few months. I am curious as to how everyone who is at maintenance has adjusted their workouts? Are you working out as much as you did while you were losing your weight or have you cut back a bit on the exercise? Did you cut back on the cardio and…

maintaining despite slump
I am kind of in a bad place right now, where I just don't have the energy to eat. I logically know that I am wreaking havoc on my metabolism. When I have to go somewhere i'll grab aLluna bar, but when I'm home i'll eat yogurt, cereal, and coffee whey protein powder in it. I know this is nowhere near enough. Ill exercise to…

Maintenance is Scary!
I am now in maintenance mode and trying to figure out my new calorie goal. I am 28, 5'4" and 120 pounds. When I was losing I was eating about 1600 calories with eating exercise calories back. I've been slowly upping calories 100 per week to see what will work but with just an 100 calorie increase this week I gained 1.5…

Question on maintenance calories amount
Hi all! I joined MFP in july 2013, but this is my first post: I'm rather shy and not English native speaker, so please bear with me :flowerforyou: I lost fairly quickly and easy the weight I wanted to, and now I would like to switch to maintenance. My question for you: I see around fairly high amount of cals for…

Calories on rest days to maintain
I'm wondering what people's opinion/thoughts are on calorie intake on rest days? I am an avid runner and run, on average, 6-7 days a week and average about 50-55 miles a week. I am wondering if you consume the same number of calories on rest days as you do on workout (running) days or if you scale back? I'm in maintain…

Maintaining in college?
So the time has (finally) come for me to leave my childhood home and live on my own and attend college. I'm just a tad worried about the notorious "freshman 15". However, it's not as if I'm going to be gorging myself of pizza, cookies and ice cream day in and day out seeing as my weight loss journey has long since…

Pretty much at goal....
But always room to lose a little more. I am 42 years old, lost 90 lbs. and am looking for other "successful" people who have lost large amount of weight as well to be friends with. I am very active, and do have minor set backs with splurging a bit, but for the most part I am in this to win this! I run, walk, bike,…

No fanfare for achieving weight loss goal?
Does MyFitnessPal really NOT give any fanfare or congratulations for achieving your weight loss goal? Fitbit said, "Goal met. Woohoo!" Nothing from MFP? MFP got me there more than my Fitbit did! Thanks, MFP! :-)

Question about switching from gaining to maintaining?
I still have some ways to go before I reach the healthy weight I have targeted for myself. I'm just curious and in need of a little clarifying! To gain: I need 1,930 calories. Once I get to my goal weight, MFP and other websites I've played around with have calculated that I will need 1,680. But the low weight I am at…

Minimizing weight gain after eating below 1500 calories
I started cutting weight at 1500 calories at the start of the year and then slowly started eating less and less till I got the the point of around 1000 calories per day. I find with water weight fluctuations I weigh in around 135-140lbs at 6'0. I think my metabolism may be shot, how do I bring it back up to speed without…
