WOMEN AGES 50+ FOR AUGUST 2024
:) The beginning of a new month is a good time to make a fresh start or to double down on the habits and behaviours that are important. Each of us knows what we want to accomplish. Research shows that the company you keep makes a difference and I've found that the support and encouragement and example of the women I meet…

Hi everyone! I just decided to post a weekly update thread for myself. I'd love it if others would join in and post their progress as well. That would be more fun! About me - I'm a 47-year-old woman from Pennsylvania. I've been trying to lose weight for years. Doing everything. Weight Watchers, calorie counting, drugs,…

I miss the automatic congratulations after weekly check-in
LOL, I know this is silly. I am back here after a\months and months of going off the rails. I finished my first week and when I posted my weight loss in check in, there was no "ZIlla 100 checked in and lost X amount of weight, Zilla has lost X number of pounds so far!" I know it is a little thing but I loved seeing that…

Have you ever tried to improve yourself for a special occasion? Update
I had 10 consecutive alcohol free days. This naked mind really, really helped. It’s really easy to not drink for me, no physical withdrawal or mental either—- been like I should have done this sooner. Have family coming into town a little nervous about taking a drink. I have set a 2 drink limit. Wish me luck!

Hi Everyone! Just signed up today. I am Juliana and I live in rural TN. I used to be a fitness and health fanatic. For my whole life I was fit, toned, worked out 2x a day and was anal about everything I ate. In sunmmer 2016, I had 4 major traumas in my life and fell apart. Than I got sick and ended up in bed 22/7. For the…

How to avoid cornflakes at night

Who Killed My Fitness Pal?
I was a member of My Fitness Pal years ago, and it was one of the most active, instructive, encouraging, accountability helpers around! There was always a lot of activity on my "Feed", a lot of interaction, much instruction coming from senior successful weight losers, and all around a general feel of "we're all in this…

Looking to make losing weight fun? Try the BLC challenge next round!
I started my weight loss journey in January 2023. Started just by walking, started with a mile and added a little more each week. I also started tracking my calories on MFP, I lost 15 pounds the first few months, but then was getting bored. This was my usual weight loss journey - I would get bored and then quit and gain it…

No more newsfeed-I’ve got you covered.
I created a Facebook group called My Fitness Pal-Circle Of Friends Since MFP got rid of their newsfeed you can no longer view your friends/connections achievements. The other MFP group I was part of didn’t allow you to put your user name on there to request friends. I’m creating this group so we can all post our…

What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?
I know that many of us choose to lose weight because we want to have a healthy lifestyle and feel better about ourselves, but c'mon, we also have "I'm going to stick it to X" reasons. For me, it's because I don't want to be the fat gay cousin. I want to be the hot gay cousin. I also want people's minds to be blown when I…

Support appreciated
Aloha I have been a WW for many many years and this month I started double tracking using MFP and WW. So interesting to run out of daily points but still have 700+ calories for the day. I’d love to add more friends. My user name is Chrisnginagarcia13. And if anyone else lives on Maui that would be a bonus 🌺

I’m a 63 yr old retired (this year) teacher struggling with a work related injury, newly diagnosed Parkinson’s Disease and last summer diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Fibromyalgia…I’m taking my life back. New beginnings
Starting (again) I've been stuck between 195# and 215# for 5 years. I get in a groove and do well for a while then crash and give up. It's been a vicious cycle. Well into menopause the weight just seems to stick. But I'm giving it another round and maybe I'll figure out the trick to my weight loss. August 7th - 212# August…

From CT
The 50’s feel so different. Scale isn’t budging. I’m tired but still making an effort to move every no matter what as part of my self-care. Really want to take off about 20 pounds so that I feel more healthy and clothes fit better. Really unsure how snd a little bit disappointed that I put this weight on to begin with.

Went over my calorie goal today ☹️
I've been dieting for just under a month or so now, I've been so strict with my habits and keeping at or below my 1200 calories a day but today I've gone over. I feel terrible. I know its not the end of the world and I will get bk on track tomorrow. Does anyone else feel terrible when they go over their limits.

20kg to lose
I’m starting this today to hopefully gather others with 20kg or less to lose, support is a good way to keep motivated, I’m 47 and have been on and off every diet under the sun but always gave up .. it’s time to take charge and stop being a quitter once and for all!! I suffer with a chronic pain illness so between that…

Could use some support
Am at my highest non pregnant weight of 154.7 and my goal weight is 135. I want to lose the weight in the healthiest way possible but don’t want to “diet” meaning restrict, avoid food groups, be obsessive and have it be the biggest thing in my life. But if I’m not “mindful” I eat whatever I want and the weight keeps…

Is it possible?
I’m really disappointed with myself. At the beginning of the year I said I wanted to lose at least 30 pounds by the next Christmas as my New Year’s resolution. I lost 10 pounds (using this app) and then just stopped logging and gave up, I gained the weight back plus some. Now I’m 200 pounds (AGAIN) Is it possible to still…
