Survived the "widowmaker"
I was riding in Missouri this weekend (from Minnesota) and ended up in the ER with chest and back pain. Turns out that I had apparently had a heart attack some time in the previous 24 hours. They put 2 stents in my heart. How is this a victory? In the past 6 months, I have lost 40 pounds and been walking 3-7 miles a day.…

Officially 25lbs gone
25 lbs gone today, it’s been a rollercoaster. There are changes to my face, and I can fit in my clothes I bought years ago. I was getting extremely discouraged, I knew I was eating unhealthy and my relationship was suffering. Not because my husband was turned off by my weight, but because of how differently I felt because…

14 years and 50 lbs gone!
When I started using MFP I had no idea I would still be here recording steps and food and meeting people 14 years later. This morning the app told me that I have lost 50lbs!! 🥳 This makes me both very proud and very happy. There were many years of frustration, successes, increases and injuries. But, clearly I didn’t give…

NSV and more!
I went to Jamaica with friends last month and wore two-piece bathing suits!!!! I would have never had the self-confidence to do that before losing 57 lbs. I bought a small trampoline (rebounder) for my office and am watching youtube videos and working out for 30 minutes a day and it's really helping me break through my…

Huge NSV - Post COVID cardio goal met
I know you all will get what a huge success this is. I had COVID in October 2023. I did several months of physical therapy before my doc and PT thought I could start light cardio on my own. When I started, I would get winded just walking from the car to the gym. It's been 6 months, and I've had a huge breakthrough in the…

Almost there!
In January 2004 I weighed 292 lbs and in 2006 I was around 285 and when diagnosed with diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides. I lost about 20 lbs right away and then hit a wall where I was around 250 to 260 for years. In 2021 I started trying to lose weight again and by 2022 I was around 216 to 220 then hit another…

This App Works
Hi Been using this app since the beginning of January and I’ve now lost 62 pounds. What people need to understand is that diets don’t work. You need to decide one day I’m going to care about what I eat and how much I eat. I’ve cut my food intake by half and feel amazing. My blood pressure has plummeted my doctor cut my…

I see my muscles!
I used to think I struggled with consistency, but I have realized what I really struggle with is perfectionism. I used to get so discouraged and down on myself if I got off track. In the last six months or so I have really been working on that and started listening to my body more. I’ve been more accepting that life isn’t…

Sharing my half way point! :)
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a before and after at the half way mark of my journey. I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life and have lost/gained. The left pic was the end of 2022 after losing my Dad, my two senior dogs, becoming a caretaker for my aunt with dementia in his place and just not caring about…

No longer pre-diabetic
I have been pre-diabetic for years. I got serious about my health and fitness a few months ago after a very scary episode of losing vision in my eye. I am surprised it only took me two months to make progress! My A1C is still on the high end of normal but, I am so happy I am making steps backwards. :)

Show your progress graph
On Feb 14 this year, I was feeling like a sad slob. I weighed myself and saw 192 on the scale, which is my second-to-highest record. I finally decided I was going to do this- I reduced daily calories to 1700, and started regularly exercising on an Eliptical machine 45min 3 to 4 times a week. The first 2 weeks were…

Down 20.5lbs since using MFP last month
In January I was 395. Knew it was time for the big life change. Stopped sugar drinks and began walking 5 miles per day, weather permitting. I dropped 25 lbs from Jan to March. A friend suggested I try CrossFit and though I was worried about being the heaviest person there I went anyway. Fast forward two months, I…

Feeling good
I not only need a belt to keep my jeans from sliding off,but I had to go out and purchase new underwear, because mine were too big. I also no longer have tingling in my fingers, and my blood pressure is back in the normal range for the first time in over a month. It makes me hopeful I won’t have to add Blood Pressure…

40lbs down, feeling healthier
I've been yo-yoing for years now and reached a personal heaviest weight of 291 at the start of this past school year (I'm a teacher). I've lost 40lbs this school year, started back on the antidepressants I went off 5 years ago, and feel better than I have in years. My resting heart rate was in the High 80s when I first got…

Tried many but My Fitnesspal has made a difference
I been to WW and the feel foods are nice but I found it difficult to to lose weight on a weekly basis. My doctor set a calorie goal for me, by using the app and counting everything I eat (coffee creamer and stuff you my not count) I have lost 70lbs.

My NSV
When I started on the journey to be healthy four weeks ago I was having horrible hot flashes, and was exhausted by the end of the day. A week later I received a call from my doctor that my bloodwork came back showing that I had type 2 diabetes, and was immediately prescribed medication to help control my blood sugar. I…

How long have you hung on to your oversized clothes?
My closet is full of clothes that are four and five sizes too big but I'm having such a hard time letting it go. How long have you kept your oversized clothes?
