To jump in on the McD convo: I used to get their sausage & egg biscuit, then add cheese to it (sorry @peleroja ). I also love their fruit & yogurt parfaits. Not too many calories, but quite tasty. I consider it a dessert for my biscuit sandwich.
Also, sometimes I just really want a McD's cheeseburger. The little one. I almost never actually spend 400+ calories on that little bugger, but yeah. That's the only non-breakfast thing I'll eat there, along with a hot fudge sundae. Heh
Confession. I haaate the word parfait. Not sure why.... but it could be the best thing on earth and I wouldn't order it if I had to say the name when ordering.
So you wouldn't order a peanut buster parfait from DQ because of the word "parfait"?! I do not understand this logic.
I don't go to DQ but IF I were to go and order that specifically, I would probably say something like 'peanut butter thing' while waving my finger towards where it's listed on their menu. Much like Wawa's 'sizzli' menu. I hate that word as well.
I'm not sure why I hate it other than it just sounds silly to me. I want to punch both of them.0 -

On top of that I read a review of the place I am most likely going that said the woman giving the blood test made everything painful... oh please don't let that be the case for me.
The last time I got a blood test I passed out on the floor and woke up utterly confused and nauseous, wondering if the woman above me was my mom and being scared that I didn't remember anything. Passing out is something I have a great phobia of. Blegh blood tests.
I don't mind having blood drawn, but my mom can't stand it. She also can't stand to stay in the room with anyone else who is having blood drawn, because the needles freak her out. Both my sister and I would sit with her and hold her hand and comfort her while she sobbed through it--and once, I covered her eyes with my hands and told her not to look and I'd buy her ice cream after it was over.
Speaking of having blood drawn, though... (squeamish people look away!) I once had an inexperienced nurse trying to draw blood from me, and I have VERY elusive and narrow veins. I usually have to warn the nurses that they'll have to get it from my hand, because they just can't find veins in my upper arm where they usually prefer to take it.
Anyhow, I warned her that she should take it from my hand, but she wanted to try my upper arm first. She ended up having to prick me three separate times, and finally resorted to my hand (why does nobody want to listen to me to begin with? I always warn them... Bunch of know-it-alls. ). After she was done, she tried to collect the tube and stuff, and dropped the whole thing. Blood sprayed EVERYWHERE.
Did she have to take it again??
I had a terrible experience when I was a kid once. I was about 7 years old and there was a nasty lab tech digging around not getting blood and it hurt, a LOT. I started crying and when she pulled out, I got up and tried to leave. Next thing you know, I have like five medical people holding me down, one was literally sitting on my lap so I could not get up, while this woman dug my arm with what felt like a hot poker. I even remember I tried to bite the girl sitting on me at one point, and then someone else pulled me back by the hair and held me that way. It was over 30 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday.
This sounds awful. How did those people have jobs. If I found out someone did that to MY child, I'd be in prison for sure. I'm just speechless.
I have had to hold down my child (with medical personnel) to get blood drawn, and pre-surgery tests, make sure that he was producing the chemicals he needed to produce (he is very complicated) etc. When it is a matter of that child's health and life and not drawing the blood and not knowing could potentially lead to brain damage and the child will not listen or cooperate you do what you can to get it done and save their life. I'm all for the kindest route and I've been on the hold down side too, it is awful but sometimes has to be done.0 -

My confession? I don't eat pork anymore (for a variety of reasons) and haven't done for about 15 years. The thing i miss the most? McDonald's sausage, egg and cheese mcmuffin.
A life without Canadian bacon, or regular bacon for that matter is scary lol.
May I ask the reasons?
I really dislike bacon.
The reasons are mostly, because improperly cooked pork can give you worms. And I had too many bouts, so i said no more. I only ever got them after eating pork. Pork kind of scares me for the same reason. Yuck...
I still eat it though.0 -
Guilty confession: I love McD's breakfast burritos!
They're so tiny though.
Confession: I love all 460 calories of the bacon, egg, and (sorry @peleroja) cheese biscuit. They are my most favoritest thing by far on their menu.
My favorite was the breakfast bagels but they don't seem to have those where I live anymore.
I could eat McD's biscuits & gravy with a broken up hashbrown mixed in EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. In fact, a few years back I did for a month or so. And yes, I blew up.0 -
Confession:
My food intolerances are often a pain, hassle, limiting. I had had plenty of bland or less than satisfying meals over the years. However I'm used to that and I confess that I'm glad I have them because:
Brownies, cake, ice cream, bread, and so many other things hold zero appeal to me. I will not eat them. It makes it easier for me (I think) to have consistently made good choices over the years because the other option is complete misery for days/weeks if I have something I know I should not have.
ETA: That is why I don't comment on much of the food on here, most of it is not something I can consider eating. My brain no longer really sees it as food.0 -

Sorry guys, if I'm binge posting.
I love Halloween too. I like all the things you mentioned about it. One of my first confessions in this thread was about how I was already planning my costume (we started planning last Halloween). We are going to just dress up as if we were back in the 80's and I'm really excited (hair crimping!).
The French Fry costume sounds SO CUTE! I can't wait to see pictures.
Last year my sister (who is only 4 years younger than I am) was a piece of candy corn. haha0 -

I'm not really sure what a parfait is? Is it like yoghurt? All I can think of is 'perfect' since I'm bilingual French. I'm sure a proper French person would know what a parfait food thing is, but I spent most of my childhood enjoying Marmite and toad in the hole and endless English stodge.
Google peanut butter parfait from dairy queen. It's layers of peanuts, chocolate, ice cream with whipped cream on top. So good (although you will be sick if you eat the whole thing). I don't know what the technical definition is but it must be something along the lines of layers of food/treats or something. And it probably is for 'perfect'.
No, really you won't. I speak from experience.
Dairy Queen in Canada seems to have replaced the fancy sundaes with the hot dessert treats. No more turtle sundaes for me.
Hehe, I thought the same thing. I've eaten one before and wanted another one.
Oh and sorry they are getting rid of the yummy desserts.0 -

I'm not proud of this, but I used to (regularly) order and eat potato wedges, chicken strips, a large pizza and a tub of ice cream, from Pizza Hut. I always planned to eat the wedges and strips one night, and the pizza the next. never happened. and when pizzas were on bogoff, i used to order 2, planning to eat one, save one. nup, that never happened either. I am such a pig!
I'm not proud of myself...but I have days where I can eat the world. Like, disgustingly huge amounts of food. Not sure how it all fits in there...but yeah. Kinda gross.
Same here. Then, once the eat-the-world feeling wears off, I feel so disgustingly sick/full and my stomach feels like it wants to pop, and I wonder how I could have gotten to this point of fullness without feeling the discomfort beforehand. I have no idea how it happens! It's like my stomach goes numb for a while, then suddenly feels everything at once.

Not peanut butter, peanut buster.
OR you could skip having to say the dreaded "P word" and just order a buster bar.

Cool thanks. No hurry at all. I know you are busy. That's really awesome that you can just make it like that without having to know the measurements!0 -
I'm still working on getting caught up.
I went on a walk at lunch yesterday with a co-worker so that was good. I'm thinking about walking again today.
I have today and then half a day tomorrow for work so I'm in vacation mode already. This weekend I have my Red Rocks concerts so I'm really excited (Pretty Lights Friday and Saturday). Hopefully no one laughs at me since I'm older but I bought jewels for my face so I'm going to put those on and I have Glowbys for my hair (fiber optic glow barrettes for hair). I'm just going to have fun. I'll try to post a pic in the batcave from my phone later of my trial run of the jewels to see what you guys think.
Friday morning we are going to Original Pancake house. Strawberry waffles and home fries here I come. Yay.
This sounds like a ton of hone, and we definitely want pics!0 -

Mr. Mo used to work with a guy that went to the Godfather's lunch buffet and ate 21 pieces of pizza and he only stopped at 21 because they had to go back to work. He STILL tells that story and it was more than 8 years ago.

I'm sorry! I am having the same issues right now. I have been cheating myself with logging which is disappointing. I've been eating candy daily and not logging it. I'm so frustrated with myself too. I'm just stressed which makes it hard to care as well.

I haven't eaten pork since I was around 7 or 8 years old. It's a texture thing.
I have vivid memories of sitting at the dinner table with a wad of chewed pork chop in my mouth that I absolutely could not swallow.
I have never liked bacon. DD had a maple bacon donut on the menu today. I think that is weird. I don't get the bacon fascination.0 -
