4.6 miles tonight which did successfully sync to Strava. That puts me at 10.1 of my 50 mile goal for October.12

18 long slow kilometres this morning. Last long run before the Auckland half in two weeks. Not fully recovered from last weekend’s half. Pilates and yoga haven’t helped with the dead legs!13

What do you do? Random having a conference at the same time! I'm a radiographer.
It's a conference for cosmetic chemists. I have a business that supplies raw materials to cosmetic formulators (and also other supplies for soap makers etc) I'm also currently studying for my diploma in cosmetic chemistry.
October Goal: 220km
01/10: 10.43
04/10: 12.14
05/10: 21.31
Total KM run: 43.88
First time in a few months since I've run a half marathon distance. It felt really great and I didn't have any problems with my ankle at all which I'm so relieved about. Next week is a cutback week which is probably a good thing as far as letting my legs rest, but I feel like I need to run a lot to make up for this last week when I've eaten ALL the food

I’m going to aim to be half way through couch25k by the end of October. I’ve a stinking cold at the moment so just at the end of week 2. I’m hoping this is a realistic goal!11

I have run approximately 30kms this week (or 18.6miles) whilst intermittently fasting everyday. Therefore who knows as I have been known to run 119kms in a week. Just depends.8

@ariceroni Very pretty place to run. Sounds like you did great! Glad your foot is better.
@T1DCarnivoreRunner Not sure I would have had the mental fortitude to do 20 miles on a 1/2 mile track. Good for you. You'll do great in your marathon next week.
@rheddmobile Sounds like an awesome day! Congratulations on your placement wins!

Yesterday was a weird run... I ran with my 15-year-old son (varsity cross country runner) and tried to match his pace (he's 3 minutes/mile faster than I am). Needless to say, that didn't last and I had to walk to gather myself. A mile later an overdose of fiber cereal began to move and I had the most uncomfortable run yet! 1st time that's happened - but on the plus side I was able to finish my run first. Afterward I felt so much better I felt like I could run the whole thing all over again. Apparently I PR'd... Talk about motivation to get done with the run!! Teachable moment - only have one small bowl for B-fast !!10 -
Thank you, @hamsterwheel6 and @katharmonic for your concern about my knee. It held up well enough for this morning's 5k. I won my age group, with a not particularly speedy 31:27.6. I think I've earned the shirt and represented the Hospital's free race registration adequately.
The race was along the Fox River, and the water level was high enough that they've closed Walton Island and adjusted the race course. There are footbridges connecting the small islands in the river, and there were 11 Pokestops along the loop from one end of the chain to the other - it was always my most efficient item-gathering location. The benches along the paths were halfway underwater. So that was something to see. Nothing else particularly noteworthy for a race report.
I'm a bit behind already for the month - keeping the knee working is more important than making big miles for the month.11 -

Great news about the knee! And the race!0 -
@autumnblade75 so great that your knee held up well, and you won your AG!0

No objections. I'm probably better at picking races small enough to claim an award than I am a runner, though. Many didn't stick around for the awards ceremony to claim their medals. It was pretty soggy on the field, and the pavement was pretty crowded. I think the raffle was a bigger draw than the race. It's nowhere near a PR, though, and nothing much to brag about.1 -

Great to hear you managed the race and won your AG! Way to do it!0 -
@kgirlhart Congrats on you PR and win! And you beat Peggy 😁
@katharmonic awesome race as well
@rheddmobile sounds like a lot of fun and you did great in your race as well...double win!0 -
So I had my 10K race this morning:
Had a staggered start as it was on the greenway and it could get really crowded if everybody started at the same time. Staggered meaning you could start any time between 8-9. The marathoners and half marathoners started earlier.
So got there, got my timing chip, and I wanted to get it done so I started couple min after 8. It was overcast and a cool 63 at start time. Off I went and felt pretty good, so I pushed the pace a little, with the intent of slowing up at the gradual uphill that I knew was coming...First mile was around 9:35 which kind of fast for me! I was still feeling good so just kept that pace through out. Walked briefly thorough water station cause I can’t run and drink either. I really wanted to beat my previous PR of 102.09, and by the time I was headed back after half way point, I knew I had a good chance of doing it...I just told myself to keep at it... the last half mile has a steep hill that I was planning on walking then running hard to the finish the last .20. However, I just said wth, and ran it and hard to the finish.
My husband was waiting and I smiled at him knowing I had beaten my goal..
They weren’t going to post final results until the last person came in which could be another couple hours so we decided to go home.
Finally got a text with results...final time for me: 57:47.2!! 9:19 Average Pace.. Good enough for 1 in AG (out of 4 but hey it counts) and 8 out of 30 Female, and 16 - 44 Overall.. Gotta love smaller races! Lol!
I’ll take it though. I’m super happy and sorry to brag but never in a million years did I think I could do this!
Had a Italian buffet lunch to celebrate and now just Netflixing...
