Did a Jackie Warner DVD then went for my walk. I switched because I almost forgot that I have a dentist app and I wanted to be sure I got in my walk and had time to cool down. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Biggest Loser Boot Camp DVD

Tracey – thank you for sharing about the COVID. Makes me feel A LITTLE bit better about going to church Saturday.

Just got back from the dentist. They were going to give me novacane. I mentioned that I normally don’t take it and, of course, they didn’t give it to me.

Julie – I do feel that I should honor my commitment to lector at the church. I most likely will be lectoring to a VERY small crowd, which to me is a blessing. I also plan to leave as soon as the lectoring is over, which is usually about 20 minutes into the mass. To be honest, I probably won’t go next week. I would be very concerned if I wasn’t vaccinated.

Just took Lexi to the vet. She has intestinal issues and it seems to be getting worse.

Went to the Newcomer lunch then Vince wanted to stop at this one WalMart. Later we needed to go pick up a prescription for Loki, go the vacuum place to get the part, I wanted to stop at Publix, then another WalMart to see about distilled water, then home. I swear, there’s a shortage of distilled water.

Julie – I bet that the shooting stars that you were able to see were spectacular

Went for my evening walk. Now cooking some turkey burgers for me. I wanted to get the turkey meat out of the refrigerator, especially if we have to go to FL. I will start to get my sourdough starter revived. Hopefully, I can make some bread Sunday.

Friday here: Guess I forgot to post yesterday.

Anyway, did Biggest Loser Boot Camp DVD today then went for my walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do Kathy Smith’s Shaper Ball DVD

kylia – how I wish I was in Ohio to help you out!!! It would certainly be a real shame if son in law quit. What pill is it about the skin cancer?

Rebecca – glad you had a good trip...even if it was long

The door is supposed to be in today and then they have to check it out (the door for FL). Then we’ll probably go down to paint it, etc. I called the Y down there. Even tho I’m no longer a member at the Y, I thought maybe I could use their facility while I was there. I called and they said that they verify your membership. Really? Would they lose that much money if someone who wasn’t a member used the facility? Oh well, I see that the place I used last year has a week free trial. I just need to call to get my card activated so I can go earlier. I doubt that’ll be a problem.

Soup kitchen today. Looks like a nice day so I’ll probably go in the pool when I get back.

    Julie – safe travels

pip – do you like the bed higher? Some people do, but I remember when we were looking for a new mattress for MIL, there is a kind of box spring that’s about ½ the thickness of a regular box spring.

    Michele NC

So far I don’t mind the bed higher, we’ve only had one night on it. The quality of sleep is the important thing.

Karen in VA - like Beth I love this

It is great that you are keeping an open mind about getting the vaccines and are seeking out reliable information to help you make your decision. It's who you are. A nudge: I will appeal to your altruistic nature. Because Covid-19, original & variant, is perfectly capable of infecting one asymptomatically, rendering one contagious but not ill, one could inadvertently infect a vulnerable other, even with mask-wearing. It is less likely to happen with masking & distancing, but a gap at the side or nose of your mask & the wrong airflow while standing in a grocery line could transmit the virus to someone nearby. And certainly maskless indoor interactions exponentially increase transmission from an asymptomatic-but-infected nose to an other. You will probably never know, of course, that you have harmed someone else, which is why it takes acknowledgement of the possibility and a decision in your own mind of what you are willing to live with. We can't live in the world without harming others, as awful as that sounds. Of course we don't mean to. It is up to each of us to balance potential harm-to-self vs harm-to-others. When I decided to be vaccinated, it was an easy decision because I believe Covid-19 vaccinations benefit me and those I love. The altruistic purpose of protecting "others" was a factor, too, but it wasn't the only reason or even the main reason. If it had been, it might have been easier for me to procrastinate getting the vaccine. Wishing you wisdom in making your decision.

    Love, Karen in Virginia

Would you mind if I quoted you on my facebook page?

In your experience, does eating tomatoes provoke arthritis? My dad has it in his thumbs, and I wonder if he should try skipping the tomatoes.

Dentists: do you know that none of my children have ever had a cavity. Jess is 37. The reason? When they were little I gave them fluoride tablets. The dentist in PA told us their teeth are very strong and the reason is because the teeth had the fluoride IN them.

After the soup kitchen then went in the pool. Then went to the landfill. I wanted to get rid of these TiVo’s that we had along with other electronics.

Kim – the tapioca you keep, is that in the bead form? I’ve always found that form not to be a good thickener. And I would like my pies thicker

Went for my evening walk then played mahjongg. Will do my sourdough starter once more and then tomorrow start making it. Think I’ll probably go downstairs to work on the puzzle a bit more

Rebecca – great pics. You gals look so happy. Was it the wine????

Machka - My best friend’s daughter, brother and sister suffered for a few years with gallbladder issues that never showed on any tests, ultrasounds, anything. They all had the symptoms but doctors wouldn’t do anything for a long time because tests were “normal”. With each of them when the doctors finally gave in and removed them it was found that their gallbladders were actually bent over on the backside and were not working properly. Your situation sounds just like theirs.

    Hope you get relief soon.

:) So much heat and smoke and concern about rising cases of Covid, that my usual 30+ student line dance class had only 14 attendees. A great time was had by all who attended.

Interesting! I had a retrocecal appendix, that was elongated and twisted. I spent a year trying to convince someone there was something wrong! When they finally opted to do a general surgery (opening me from naval all the way down - I have quite the scar!), they discovered it.

Turns out two of my nieces have had the same thing ... could be genetic.

My mother had all sorts of gallbladder pain etc. and her scans showed nothing. Same Dr who did my appendix surgery cut her open and found that her gallbladder was full of polyps and sludge. Now back in those days I don't think the scans were sensitive enough to see those things. They say a modern CT or ultrasound should see them ... but maybe they still don't.

    Regarding posts vanishing ...

If you use a phone to post, and shift your phone's position, you'll lose your post. You have to remain quite still while you're posting.

But a tip. You can post and then edit your post for up to 1 hour. So if you get a paragraph written, post it and then edit. That way, if you shift and lose what you're typing, you won't lose it all.

If you use a computer to post, you will lose your post if you go to another page to check what someone said.

Instead, open two instances of Women Ages 50 ... two tabs. Type your response in one and refer to other people's posts in the other.

And some people use Word to do all their typing. Then they copy and paste in.

11: Share an encouraging news story to inspire others: never know where to find such ;)
13: If someone annoys you, be kind. Imagine how they may be feeling.: not my default position but would be a good practice!

T’ai Chi leader agreed to let us practice outside so we wouldn’t have to mask. Hard to refuse hugs, but we came up with an alternative. We made a socially distanced circle, with one person in the center. All of us then extended our arms out to the sides in a huge virtual hug. Then each person took a turn in the center. Everyone was smiling by the end of it. Think we’ve got a new end-of-class ritual. ;)

Nice chat with Joe in car driving him to pick up the van. Repair cost less than feared and he is happy. No more talk of postponing his follow up appointment next week in Medford, whew!

    Julie Bon anniversaire!
Terri “frogspawn” yuck that’s an image I could have done without  Hope your eye infection clears up pronto!
KJ Fingers X’d the Born Clinic can help Tim.
Machka that’s a hard way to take off weight. Hope you hear from the specialists soon.
Barbie “fish eye pudding” is another. You all may cause me to loose my taste for tapioca yet
Heather 200 pounds off the price! Wow! Here you wouldn’t get a discount for a workman showing up late, you’d be expected to weep with joy whenever he finally showed up, and perhaps kiss his feet. :rage:
Carla from MN  the “I must dance” squirrel!
Carol cilantro tastes like Irish Spring to me.
Beth ((hugs)). Painful dental work on top of all the grief you’re going through? Glad the meds helped you sleep. What you said to both Lanette and Karen.
Rebecca  your smiling pics! Good lookin’ group o’gals!
Michele sounds like you’re getting ready to return to FL. Safe travels!

Ended the day with a high fat/carb, low protein/fiber indulgent meal. Only thing good about it was no sweets!

    Lighter, lovelies!

I took a break this morning and we went to our son's field hockey game.

Later we'll go for a bicycle ride.

But meanwhile, and for the foreseeable future ... I'll be filing. I decided it was time to do something about the office stuff!!!!!

Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD, awe thanks, I have been having the best time with her and her daughter! My middle sister Cindy comes not this weekend, but next weekend. Both of us are a bit worried on how things will go. She is the sister that drinks. So we both are hoping for the best, but its kind of nerve raking. Presently she's dealing with rosacea, numbing in her hands and feet, and digestion issues. All her years drinking have taken their toll.😢💖
