Flea, so sorry to hear about your mom, but hope her passing is peaceful. You have made a choice that you will never regret and I hope that will give you some peace as well. {{{HUGS}}}

Well I heard from another guy on the dating site. This one lasted twenty minutes. He refused to chat about his hometown, and mentioned sex twice. Nope. Not a gentleman and likely not from the town he listed. The worst part is that I let my frustration drive me to ice cream. I am just about done with this game.
Meanwhile my friend who had the stroke has been in the hospital with AFib. I'm worried about him.
And my mother is making plans for me to go out shopping for her. Christmas has way too many surprise errands.

Had soup kitchen today. Texted the guy about the drain (he was supposed to be here today). I know it has been raining so I asked him if the rain delayed some jobs. He is going to come next Wed. or Thurs. Not sure which day, yet. The only thing we have is Newcomer bowling on Wed. night
Karen – so glad you had such a good move. It can be really hair raising but you came thru it with shining colors
Made the butter cookies to take to Jess, have them in the freezer right now. I’m procrastinating wrapping the presents, but I know that I have to do that tonight.
Tried this chocolate thing at the soup kitchen. It was one of the peanutbutter balls! So I had to have a piece of fudge and then a piece of peppermint bark just to get the taste out of my mouth. Have to lector at the church tomorrow
Flea – prayers for you and your whole family as you go thru this terrible time. My heart is with you
Wrapped all the presents.
Guess I'll be a nice guy and ask BK if they want me to come in Thurs since I won't be there Fri, Sat, the following Mon and I usually don't work on Tues. Actually, I don't want to come in Tues so I'll probably tell them that I'm not sure which day we're coming back, Mon or Tues

Flea: Sorry that your Mom is passing, but glad the passing is peaceful and that you are with her.
Machka9: I am glad the surgery went well and that you are healing!
Katla: I am glad you are spending some evenings with your DH. The church gave my husband a knitted wheel chair blanket which is absolutely wonderful. We use it on the bed as well. We love it! The work you are doing knitting for senior citizens is very much appreciated!
Annie: I like mango and spinach so maybe I should try them in a smoothie!
Karen: Glad the move went well!
Sue in WA: Be interesting to know how the Ukranian dessert turns out. Our town had a festival where some Ukranian dancers came down from Chicago. They were very good!
Beth: Lots of delicious treats for the holidays!
Rebecca: You must be proud of your husband...so many men refuse to change their diets!
Debbie: Sounds busy...taking care of Ezie and worrying about your MIL'S health!
Barbie: Great that you can see the sunrise and the sunset on your walks!
My husband and I have discovered Quest protein brownies and Quest protein chips. They are at Walmart and Publix.
They have little carbs or sugar and are quite tasty. I visited a friend today who had a very moist fruit cake. I wish I had gotten the name of the company. This fruit cake was the real thing, very very moist.
My son will be coming Monday and spending the night and then will come back for Christmas eve with his wife.
I am still not sure if he will be here Christmas day!
I felt very confined caregiving today and when the caregiver came I went to Dunkin Donuts and purchased items with sugar and carbs! They did make me feel better!
Well I have gifts for my son's 3 dogs and need to wrap these now. You can tell I am not a grandmother...yet! I am looking forward to giving gifts to the dogs!
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia5 -

Siblings: I had one sister, diagnosed with schizophrenia when she was 21, so not much help as a sibling. I mourned the loss of her my whole adult life. She died about five years ago, and I am thankful she is finally healed and at peace.
I am with my mother. Hospice predicts she will pass on the next few hours or days. I drove up last night. My husband and son are on their way to Belize, and I will join them later, if I am able. This is hard, but my mom is ready to go. She is completely non responsive, so I have the lights dimmed and traditional Christmas music playing. She hasn't had anything to eat or drink for over 24 hours.

So sorry Felicia. ((Hugs))0 -
Barbara— I am now in Illinois. DH has had health challenges and we are staying in a facility that gives him excellent skilled nursing care. He is working hard & his health is improving. Our daughter found this place. It is close to her workplace and she visits DH when she can.
I am in an apartment in another part of the building from DH. I share breakfast with a nice group of women & men in the mornings and join DH & his friends in the dining room at the end of the day.
I go to school events with my daughter & listen to our grandchildren singing in the choir.
I am happy.9 -
(((Flea))), thinking of you... Glad your mom is at peace and so nice to play Christmas music in the background.

He's always been so adaptable that way. Last year the liver doctor told him no white bread, so that week we bought a hearty wheat bread.
He has a pile started on the kitchen table I will donate. Oreos, hot chocolate mix, Christmas Captain crunch cereal, pre made crepes with jam inside, regular pancake syrup, the reg jam in the fridge.
He's a funny guy.
Turns out his A1C level is 6.4 so he's right on the edge. Of course he admitted to having a Coke right before his blood test, the silly sot! Then there's the fact that he's been so thirsty, so many more teas throughout his days so sugar in those. His numbers should be down significantly in a month with all the changes he's done.👍🏻

Flea: I am sure your mom is looking forward to wearing her new angel wings. How blessed she is to have you and hospice help her through this sacred transition. A giant hug to you is coming down the wire.
Machka: Topical arnica gel has always helped my bruises heal quickly. It also comes in little homeopathic tablets you take sublingual. Take care!
To everyone else under the weather or feeling worn out, get well. Stay well. We can do this.

Flea-thinking of you with your mother. I have been blessed to be with three people I love-SIL, mother and husband when they transitioned. I consider it a blessing because no one should die alone and I was able to show them love one last time. Hope it is peaceful for her. You need to also take care of yourself after the vigil.
Karen-sounds like your move was textbook. We paid someone to move us to my current house nearly 30 years ago when the boys were small. We both worked. While the money was expensive for us at that time-it was a life saver. Kids to day care after leaving old house, came home to new with beds, etc. all ready for them.
Katla-glad you are in new apartment closer to your husband and can be with him regularly.
Annie-never used a dating site and doubt I ever do. Of course, I'm not particularly interested in dating at my age (68), but if would consider dinner with someone interesting if they are ever placed in my path.
Pretty much finished with going into the office for the year. May do some work from home once I return from Arizona. Have a couple of items to follow up with on Monday. Today going to watch twin grandsons play different sports-one is playing basketball, the other indoor soccer. Will take Christmas presents to them. Rest of weekend giving house thorough cleanings-get to some of the stuff neglected past two months due to surgery. Leave Tuesday to go to Az with kids.
Need to get some presents wrapped to take with me. Nice part is-all of the Christmas presents will be cleared out of spare bedroom soon!
Take care all,

Good morning ladies!
Flea, our thoughts are with you as you share this special time with your mother. Hope it was a peaceful night.
I received a selection of tea as a gift, so I will be experimenting with various levels of caffeine. Yesterday was green tea with peppermint and lemongrass. Very tasty! Today was Earl Grey, a favorite classic but with more caffeine. I hope to get a lot done! There's wrapping presents, and a couple thank yous, and the usual cleaning my room. Maybe I will wash my sheets and my
blanket. Wheeeeee!
