Oh my! The Chinese chicken in black beans was soooooo amazing. I steamed some pak choi to go with it and we had Chinese noodles.
DH speed read most of my book but is not really able to say what he thinks of it. I feel for him. He said a lot of it was intense. I'm letting the poor man off the hook. As no one ever saw the great majority of the poems, I am curious as to whether any of them are any good.
Looking forward to seeing my brother and DSIL tomorrow. I hope the chat they are going to have with us is not about something important but just social. The focaccia is calling us.

Trying to catch up from pg 33 so
WAY belated welcome to @kmcintosh1988 Kathy in AL, @mariamyer Maria in Chandler AZ, @serenecompassion2663 Andi in IL, scline01, @amdaless, @ngolden3320 Nichole,
Tracey “…operated right on the dining room table.” The same one you now have. Just wow. What Heather said about never too late. Think you have a gift for teen counseling. Prayers for Rodger’s father and family.
Allie such a hard place to be in. Like Beth, have added Tracy and the grands to my prayer list. Are you in contact with any of Tracy’s friends? Sometimes wisdom from a peer is better accepted than from Mom. Brava for your heart-to-heart with Carmine.
Lisa 13 has always been a lucky number for me and my family. Maybe next time ;}
Only thru pg 41, but time to get movin’: recycling, bottle drop, Grocery Outlet and line dance class.
Lighter, lovelies!

Dh just came home- they fired the deli manager in his store. That is the position he had for over 30 yrs. The store manager is now going to give him two shifts in the deli and one in file maintenence (price changes) every week until he can get the new deli manager trained. That will take at least a few months. Hopefully by then, the store manager will calm down and they can figure out how to work together and help each other out instead of working against each other. He has trained so many deli managers over the years. He is good at it as long as they listen and do what he says. If he wanted, he could go back and run this one but he doesn't want to be back 40 hrs a week. Physically and mentally it is too much for him.

I just spent two hours figuring out my Dad's insurance. What a mess. They have trouble verifying his identity because he doesn't have a cell phone and his email is generally wrong. He had two car policies and two homeowners policies. But I got the duplicates cancelled, I think. And we should get some refund money.
Well at least that is off my to-do list. Back to folding laundry.
Annie in Delaware5 -
Got'cha Heather! How exciting for them to have everything redone and be in somewhere so fun in the meantime. What a blessing.
That bread looks amazing!
Allie, our Anne STILL has a stuffed Eeyore that she got at Disney World when she was six! I get the attachment.
OH NO, Betsy, I'm so sorry! That's just horrible. I can actually "hear" that happening. EWE! You're such a good mom/grandma. What a great cruise to go on. I sure hope you can do that.
23 Go an entire day without complaining... I think I can do that, but this falls on a MONDAY!!! Gonna have to try tomorrow... sorry gang. I didn't really complain so much as ask for help. I sit right next to the auditorium and they were having a "thing" in there today. So I try to put my earbuds in my laptop and they won't relay the music to the earbuds and keep playing thru the speakers. Come to find out later, when the tech guy finally arrives (after my "please come help me email") that it was operator error and I actually KNEW how to fix it! DANGIT!!! So I sorta didn't complain, right?
You've got a GREAT point, Margaret!

For those of you wondering about going a day without complaining, I highly recommend the book "A Complaint Free World" by Will Bowen. I read it and it made a huge change in my life 🙂😺🌞😍😍🌻😃6

Pip, unless you physically took a hammer or other large object and beat the bleep out of the door, you didn't break it. I bet it could have happened just as easily if Kirby had been the one to open the door at that particular time.
Betsy, so sorry to hear of your son's Achilles tendon tear. Sincerest hopes for a good recovery for him. That cruise sounds lovely, sure hope you get to do that!
And my memory has failed me once again. I know there was more I wanted to comment on.... Oh well, another day!
Not sure what was going on with me yesterday, I had absolutely no energy. I woke up with a headache, but went to the gym as I hadn't been for 5 days and it was time! I got home with plans to vacuum, it was a lovely sunny day, good housecleaning weather (nice and bright outside makes for lighter inside!) I dislike cleaning in the dark. Anyway, I sat down after lunch and that was it for me! I did get some crocheting done, so the day wasn't a total washout, but still. I handled a pure wool blanket the day before and am wondering if that's my problem, I am sensitive to wool and lanolin so that could have been it. I feel good today, went to the gym, came home and vacuumed and still feel good. Oh well, the yuckies passed so yay!! lol Oh, and I'm down .4 of a pound this week!! Double YAY!!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Heather, the place that your family is renting looks lovely! I could deal with that view for sure!
And I forgot, I also folded and put away two loads of laundry today!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island4 -
Betsey-between your son and sister you will be busy. Hope their health issues improve and you can go on that cruise.
PipI know you are bummed about the camping trip and the garage door-but accidents happen. Neither one is huge in the grand scheme of life-show yourself some grace.
Heather-your baking looks great but way beyond my skills and inclinations. My mother was a very good baker.
Vicki-very tragic thing for you and son to witness.
Annie-congrats on walk! You are much faster than I am. Hoping speed picks up in summer-I swear sometimes it feels like my hip replacements get cold and slow me down! However-I figure walking my 2-3 miles even if it is at a moderate pace is much better than hanging out on couch all of the time.
Debbie-it is wild what things like comic books can bring. Of course-you have to find the right buyer.
Evelyn-I think some days we just have yucky days (but the wool hypothesis is interesting).
Just another day at work. Union negations in the morning-has two more sessions scheduled. Work from home tomorrow morning and have to run to City Hall for an afternoon meeting.
They are saying we may get nasty weather here on Wednesday. Sent out staff reminder on procedures if we happen to close due to weather (doesn't happen often-but better to be prepared).
Went for walk after work. Just did two miles. Most sidewalks not cleared so I walked in the street for the most part. Had dinner and am now just relaxing. Very tired tonight-may turn in early.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio
Katla-your DH knows you are there checking on him and spending time with him. Be glad you can be so close.6 -
Thank you all for your comments. We rescheduled to leave on Wednesday, garage repair man is coming tomorrow. Thanks again, wish I could hug u all12

Worked today, had to go to WalMart just for milk for Vince, then went bowling, then my walk. Will have dinner in a few. Wish ceramics was open! The plan for tomorrow is to do a body pump DVD after work.
Speaking of work: today they told me that they just had to take Jerry home, he was so drunk.
Betsy – have a safe flight. That’s so wonderful of you to do that for your son and his family
Heather – your bread looks fantiastic
Vicki – sending “feel better” vibes
going to watch some TV then get to bed.
Michele NC3 -
Betsy You are a great mom to go help your family.
Pip, glad you could reschedule your camping trip.
I read everything every day but have little to report. Jake is healing slowly from Monday's surgery. Today's big adventures were a drive to the post office to mail knitted hats to the great granddaughters in Ohio and a long afternoon nap. Otherwise there was walking with Bessie and with my friend and alone and lots of riding the exercise bike and watching TV. Nobody called, nobody came over, and our meals were the same stuff we always eat. 16,000 steps and almost three hours on the exercise bik.

My former inlaws are in a place like you are in. Shirley is in the dementia ward and has been there a few years, her husband just moved in on the independent living floor a few months ago. He knew it was time to sell the house and be where he could get a little more help(he is 87). He loves that he gets to see Shirley every day, they have meals together, go for walks(she is in a wheel chair so he pushes her) and now he doesn't have to drive to go see her and gets to see her as often as he wants.
I talked to him today and he is so much happier now instead of when he was living alone and missing her. They have been married 66 yrs.

Yeast Rolls for Sandwiches or Filled Rolls:Bread – full recipe (taken from Mama’s recipe)
3 to 4 tbsp yeast in 1 cup of warm water, with pinch of sugar, proof.
2 cups milk or buttermilk if you want tangy rolls (warm to room temp in microwave)
2 large eggs
2/3 cup of oil
4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
6 to 8 cups of flour (bread flour or all-purpose flour)
Whisk oil, salt, sugar, milk, to get salt and sugar dissolved while yeast proofs.
Add yeast, water mixture after it comes to a head. Add six to seven cups of flour until it becomes a big, mass, pulling away from the sides of the bowl.
Let it knead in the bowl for ten minutes, pull out onto a board/countertop with enough flour to make it not stick, form into a smooth ball. Clean and oil the mixing bowl, add a bit of oil to keep bread from sticking, put the dough back in it, put it in a warm place, covered with plastic wrap, until dough doubles.
Punch down the dough, form rolls or loaves, let them rise ‘til double.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until brown, for rolls. Loaves need to be in for as much as 30 minutes. Cover with foil if they get too brown.
Half-recipe (makes about 15 rolls).
2 tablespoons of yeast (or 1 packet-ish) with pinch of sugar in 1/2 cup water.
1 cup milk or buttermilk
1/3 cup of oil
1/8 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1 cup of wheat bran (optional)
3 to 4 cups of flour
For filled rolls, when it comes to time to shape them, flatten roll dough into a small disk, put filling in the middle, gather the dough up over the filling, pinch all edges together, and turn the pinched edges to the underside, let rise, bake the same as with the regular rolls. Fillings can be ham and cheese, pepperoni and mozzarella.
I tend to use the half recipe, and it is more than Corey and I can use in two weeks... Enjoy!
question about "Let it knead in the bowl for ten minutes,"
So, do I knead it in the bowl then on the board or let it rest for ten minutes then put on the board?
I am very new to this(used to use my bread machine when I did make bread.)
I have my second batch of banana yeast rolls ready to go in the oven in 10 min.
I will try setting my pressure cooker on warm for five minutes before putting the dough in and turning it off when I do put the dough in it and let it just stay in it to rise until double in size. Having it on warm, it left a dryer spot on it, like it did yesterday when I made it(but I messed up and it was on warm for 20 min instead of 5)
The flavor is great, just want to keep practicing- DH says they remind him a little Hawaiian bread.
Think I might try a mango next time I have extras that are over ripe

I was awake for several hours last night. Went into the front bedroom to read the latest Vera. I'm enjoying it. The TV version of the book is going to be on around Christmas.
When I finally fell asleep, I had an awful dream. Woke up at 6.45 when the recycling lorry was crashing the glass bottles around. My dream was truly horrible. Glad to be awake.
Today is my brother and DSIL for focaccia early lunch, then Bea pick up. I might get a short nap in between.
I'm serving my easy peasy fish soup for dinner as I know I won't feel like cooking after giving Bea her pasta and pesto and salted caramel ice cream! She will, be swimming afterwards, in an open air, heated pool, just around the corner. My son will take her and collect his gluten free orange cake. I want the plate back as it's my elder son's birthday platter. DH insists I make another orange cake as it's our favourite. (Not gluten free.) Fortunately, apart from the hassle of boiling the orange, it's very easy.
Breakfast is calling! (Actually DH)

Motoring along nicely. Mostly back to normal. Had a lovely session with my Monday Painters yesterday. Still can’t post pics on my phone or I would post a pic of what I’m working on.
Today at craft will be working on the embroidered bags with my friend M (she gave me one at the previous meeting.)
All this bread making is making my mouth water. I may have to get out my baking bowl, as our usual supermarket has stopped baking bread on the premises. Although it’s a large store, they also closed their fresh fish and meat counter a couple of years ago. It’s very inconvenient, as we now have to hunt around for fresh stuff instead if buying it all at one centre.
Intentions for today:
♦️Craft Group
♦️more accounts
♦️plan shopping tomorrow
♦️solid habits
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for all those those who need them.
🙋♀️ Miele failte to the newbies.

Good Tuesday!
Betsy- Prayers for safe travels, quick healing, and plans that go as we hope.
Vicki- ((HUGS)) So traumatic.
I have been reading, but for some reason my phone was jumping every other page-smh. I am now 95% caught up with work paperwork!!!! Yay!!! At work yesterday, Machka's comment about two types of people came to mind. That is probably one of the problems between us at work. She was putting away parts that had come in and leaving the lock ties on the belts when she hung them. I said why? Takes longer to grab for customer that way. Her comment was the belts needed redone anyway and this way they were put up. My thinking is put them up so they are easier to get for customers. Do it right the first time is my thought. SMH. Breathe! I was busy calling customers and waiting on them.
We got 6" of snow on Sunday. They are calling for another 3-5 inches tonight. Yay....We did sell 3 snowblowers yesterday. Barrett-Jackson has started on television. DH and I got in a spat while I was cooking dinner due to frustrations on both our parts. I don't understand this paperwork I am suppose to fill out nor does he nor can he read it. Just frustrating for both, but I have asked for help from both him and his sister several times (but he forgets that). I probably am just going to ignore it for now. Will decide later today. Went to bed really early! Got over 7 hours of sleep. So that is a plus.
Need to get ready for work.
Prayers!
Hugs!
Congratulations!
Much love,
