Pip- I agree with all the other's, now if I was still with Tom im sure I would have gotten a rath of you know what. But im not.
And im glad.
And I just had a splendid PB and J and will head off to the Dr in about 45 min.5 -
Any readers on here use the Goodreads app? It logs the books your read, either automatically if you use a Kindle or you can add them manually. I use it both ways. It is like a social media app for readers. You can add friends then recommend or rate books you have read. You can make your additions private or not. Gives you an idea on what to read next, etc. Pretty cool app. If you have it or want me to add you, just PM me or look for me: Rita D’Elia.

Wow Michele... just, wow. So sorry.
So excited! Lacy got a new job, coding. She's spent the last year-and-a half studying and taking her exam. She passed last month and started looking for a job where she could work from home. She called yesterday and told us that she'd gotten one with Fairview and would we like to go out to dinner to celebrate! WOOHOO!!!

It was hard at times, a great learning experience. I had taken care of newborns often and prefer them over the school age kids(have always said, I would rather have 5 in diapers than 2 school age kids)
I had been looking for a new family for my daycare as I had just lost one and only had the one boy.
The triplet's mom contacted me. She had been looking. With licensing, we could only have three under age two and no other provider around had three openings- most had just one or two and she wasn't going to split them up into two different daycares. It took a while to figure out how to feed all three at once but after a while, it got easy. Set a routine, even adding in nebulizer treatments when they were needed. They were preemies 6 1/2 weeks early (3lbs3 oz, 3lbs 5oz and 4lbs-
Emma was the biggest at birth but a lot smaller soon after and still is). I got them on a schedule and kept them on it. Nap time was a big deal- they needed a routine and I needed a little break. As they got older, they still laid down and rested with a book or a Disney movie on, just some quiet time. Most days, even when they said they weren't tired, they fell asleep.
The mom and I both agreed when they were 4 that it really was a lot easier to take care of them/deal with them when they were infants compared to the constant arguments between them when they were older.

Woke up several times last night with back spasms. Don’t know what triggered them. I haven’t had any in the last 10 years. Hurts like a bugger and there is nothing I can do about it. Mine are up below my shoulder blade into my ribs which squeeze my lungs. I get panicky about not being able to breathe then I’m up all night. C’est la vie as they say. Might be because the humidity up to 98% here due to the ‘storm’. Oh, well, it will go away, just a ghost of a pain right now. Took some Tylenol and should go away soon.
I get back spasms occasionally when I've been doing a lot of work in the garden on a warm day and haven't been drinking enough water.
About a year ago, I got a really bad one in the middle of the night which wrapped around to my chest. Had me a quite worried for a while!!
Those things are scary!

It was sore all day, but took a CBD gummy for the first time last night before bed seems to have loosened it up. Doesn’t feel bad today- doesn’t hurt, just feels ‘tired or weak’. I did a 10 minute yoga routine for chronic pain yesterday too and will do that for the next 7 days to see if it stays gone. But weirdly, last night my elbow popped when I straightened my arm in bed and it hurt all the way to my wrist. First time that happened but doesn’t hurt at all this morning.
I REALLY hate my body getting old!! My mind still thinks it’s 30!

PS..@Machka. I LOVE your meme about books. I am reading on everything listed!6 -
Lanette - Your Prime is twice the price of ours in the UK. I wonder why. Hope ours doesn't go up to that level, because there is no way I can afford that!

Playing a little catch up here. Warning - Long post, lol.
Debbie - oh my gosh, what cute triplets. Bet they kept you busy. Sounds like your DH has a good business going with his comic books and has an excellent eye for buying them and finding deals. I'll bet good Deli managers are hard to find and keep. At our local Safeway, seems that there's constant turnover in the deli, everyone is always new. BUT the employees do a great job, so no complaints.
I'm glad your DH had a good job and good retirement. Corporate was probably very sad so see him go, sounds like he was a dedicated employee. Hope he gets things resolved with that manager. Once we're retired, our BS meters are on a hair trigger.
Amazon - continues to deteriorate in my opinion. I read yesterday as of Feb. 20, they will no longer have the "smiles" program which was a great fundraiser. And, they pulled a fast one on me last weekend. I decided to finally try out Crocs, and found some evidently unpopular color at a great price so put them in my shopping cart. Got distracted, and when I went back a couple hours later to push the "purchase" button the price had gone up $3.00! That had never happened before. I'm seriously thinking of giving up the Prime - almost $150 a year now and start sourcing things locally. Even if I have to pay a dollar or two extra, I think it might be an overall savings. I see I can get Britbox and Acorn without going through Amazon. My Prime is due to renew in July. I'll check it out thoroughly before I decide - can I still get rewards if I don't have prime and so forth. I've heard they are having some financial issues and Jeff Bezos might come back.
Have a great day!

Dh has not sold many of his comic books- he has paid the service to have some graded but has just talked about selling. He has sold a few on ebay but not much. He spends a lot more than he makes on his comics/toys. He has collected toys and comics since he was a kid and most are still in perfect/unopened condition. People look at pictures in his room and ask what toy store it is.
He needs to start selling his and his brother's collection while they are still in good shape. Son is not interested in them.
Work is better. The store manager is being super nice to everyone right now because all employees have to fill out an evaluation on her.
She talked to dh this morning. Like a real person . She wants to make sure he gets his 24hrs a week so it doesn't affect our medical. Actually listened to him when he suggested a few things to make the department run better and listened when he explained what was going on before she got transferred back there. It is making him less irritated at home which is appreciated.
He started when he was 17yrs old, that is why he was able to "retire" so young. He has worked at just about every Safeway around, all the way down to Oakland which was a terrible commute. He retired out of the store 6min drive from our house. He wants to just work there because of that. I totally understand. When he was working full time, he was able to come home for lunch every day- an hour lunch and only 15min at most driving to/from work. He would eat a quick lunch, lay down for half an hour and then go back to work, or grab a quick shower and be refreshed to go back to finish the shift.
I saw the email about stopping the Amazon Smiles. The church didn't get a bunch but it was nice to have that available.
Dh spends so much at Amazon, it is worth keeping Prime for him because of the free shipping. We get packages all the time. We had four just yesterday. i am sure he uses it for the movies/music too. I haven't yet. I do shop but not a lot(but do like the free shipping)

Lisa--Thanks for sharing the bread recipe. I have an amish cookbook and love the bread recipe in there. Been a while since I have taken the time to make some. But think I will try next weekend.
Heather--I love the orange flowers.
Allie--What a cute picture of Alfie. He loves so loveable.
Went to the doctor yesterday. He did xrays of both knees and told me I have bone on bone with lots of arthritis. He injected it and said he can do that every 3 months long as it helps. But I will need double knee replacements sometime.A lot to think about and it is feeling better today. Going to take it easy and what to get back to the gym next week. Working on not letting it get me down. I am having problems dealing with being 65.

I think I am going to head over to walk a little earlier so I can walk longer , plus maybe warm up. The living room is freezing, hands are aching from the cold while I sit here.
Dh worked his normal midnight-8:30 am Wed. shift so, after taking care of his mom, he is home and napping.
He doesn't have a delivery that has to be signed for today(one yesterday and one tomorrow) plus son's girlfriend is here and awake. So, I don't have to stay here.
Ezie gets out early today so need to get over at least a half hour earlier than usual. I don't mind- I get more walking time plus actually get a parking spot not blocks away from the school. She is a lazy one and would take us forever to get to the car. All the kids at the whole school get out at the same time on Wed. The rest of the week, it is just the three kindergarten classes that get out at the same time. Parking can be bad on those days but Wed. are always worse(and when it was raining, even worse)
Have a wonderful Wednesday ladies.

question about "Let it knead in the bowl for ten minutes,"
So, do I knead it in the bowl then on the board or let it rest for ten minutes then put on the board?
I am very new to this(used to use my bread machine when I did make bread.)
I have my second batch of banana yeast rolls ready to go in the oven in 10 min.
I will try setting my pressure cooker on warm for five minutes before putting the dough in and turning it off when I do put the dough in it and let it just stay in it to rise until double in size. Having it on warm, it left a dryer spot on it, like it did yesterday when I made it(but I messed up and it was on warm for 20 min instead of 5)
The flavor is great, just want to keep practicing- DH says they remind him a little Hawaiian bread.
Think I might try a mango next time I have extras that are over ripe
It’s a typo. It should read “let it rest in the bowl for ten minutes"
THANK YOU Karen- I fixed it on my copy of the recipe.4 -

See the cardiologist tomorrow. He wanted me to lose weight last time I saw him and I have done that but it will be interesting to see how much according to his scale. He also let me go off the statin and I had labs yesterday so hopefully those numbers did not go up.
Foggy here today. Trying to get things organized for our trip next week. DD and I leave for southern CA next Friday. Looking forward to that.
Heather - love the flowers.
Pip - I agree with the others. Things just happen, not always at the best times.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA7 -
More Amazon thoughts-
OK, I penciled it out. So far, the rewards from using my Amazon Prime Chase card more than pay for the yearly Prime fees, and gives me free shipping - as Debbie mentioned - and access to Prime videos.
And I agree with Barbie, Amazon often has items a person can't find elsewhere.
I've had to up my game to be a more savvy shopper with them - only buy from Amazon unless I know and trust the supplier (so no costly return charges I have to pay for) and hit the "buy" button right after it goes into the card so no fishy price hike, lol.
Heather - maybe our Prime is higher here due to the cost of shipping?

With my tablet, I can mention to my middle sister about the importance of keeping her skin and hair clean in private chat in Facebook messenger, and my Facebook feed is filled with products that help with that. Its pretty creepy! So you phone and computer listens and makes note of what you say or click "like".

I'm down 3.3 pounds! Yay! Back to where I was at the beginning of the year. Now I need to avoid celebrating with food. I was close to buying new larger clothes, so I am so glad this is working.
Unfortunately MFP still says I have lost zero pounds since starting. Hope this time I will go all the way down and stay!

Heather – LOVE the red flowers. They make me happy.
Allie – Alfie’s such a cutie!
Pip – All the stuff the others have already said, and then some. Things happen. Hope it’s a good camping trip.
Annie – You really have figured out the secret, which is to take a deep breath and start again. Your can-do attitude serves you well. Well done on losing the weight, too!
Beth – You are such a trooper. Hope your husband is feeling better and that your mom (and your son and you!) get through without getting covid.
Rita – I’m on Goodreads as both an author and a reader, but don’t hang out there much. Eventually I’ll go back on and get my bookshelves caught up. I don’t hang out anywhere online except here. My best friend convinced me to pick up Snapchat on Monday and Tuesday I deleted it off my phone—just not interested. I’m becoming a digital hermit. Kinda like it that way.
Vicki – Both my knees were bone-on-bone, and had been since I was 50 or so. I had the right one, which was in the worst shape, replaced four years ago next month, after the injections stopped working. It was the first time I hadn’t been in pain in more than a decade. Pretty awesome. The left one is bone on bone, but I think all the nerves were cut in the surgery I had at 20 to remove a bone spur. The pain is sporadic. If it gets to be continual, I’ll get it replaced as well, I guess.
Lanette – Agreed that Amazon is getting worse, but every time I run the cost-benefit, I end up re-upping my membership. Shipping, yes, but also Prime music and movies and books, and on and on… Now that I swapped one of my credit cards for a Prime credit card, I also get five percent back on everything I buy from the site. I must decide soon about whether to re-up my Walmart+, which gives me free home delivery as well as free shipping. It has its hazards as well, but with my health issues and the price of gas, has paid for itself in both convenience and money, as well.
Andi – The weather alerts are annoying, I had to silence them so that I’ll see them the next time I look at my phone, but won’t get the audible alert. My first husband was from Wisconsin, and when we ended up stationed in Montana, he would take me to big empty parking lots to teach me how to drive confidently in the snow. It’s a skill I’ve used a lot over the years…
Went up to the little local grocery and snagged a Cheddar Bay Biscuits mix from Red Lobster. Made them to the instructions, and ate one after it was done and realized I have no actual memory of whether they tasted like those in the restaurant--it's been more than four years since I went to a Red Lobster! Ah well.
If Corey doesn't like them, the birds will. We've got a half-dozen pairs of cardinals now, dozens of chickadees, a red-headed woodpecker with black and white bars down his back, and all kinds of other birds who are taking advantage of the suet cakes I put in the bird feeder.
I put my experimental bread mistakes or stale bread out for them as well. I love watching them swoop in and out, squabble and then share. When the woodpecker shows up, the rest watch from a distance. Anytime I walk in the kitchen and there aren't any flying around, I look at the bottom of the pole and Egg's sitting there, glowering at them up in the trees and staying well out of her reach.
Time to get things straightened up a little.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR6 -
Worked, then stopped at Sam’s to pick up my new glasses, then Michael’s to get aida cloth, then Aldi to do a little shopping, then on my way home Kohl’s to return the potato masher I got for Jess. I did see a few Halloween things on sale 80% off and it looks like next month I’ll be getting a $5 coupon so I’ll get them then. And if they’re not there...oh well.
Carla – congrats to Lacy
The plan for tomorrow is to do Kathy Anderson’s Step Workout for Beginners DVD then go to BK just to peel and slice the onions. Then I’m thinking I’ll go to the Dollar General since they’re the only ones who have the distilled water we like, then next door to Food Lion to get tortillas on sale, there must be a way to get from there to the WalMart in Conover so I’ll see if they have the saltines we like, by then the lady who does alterations should be open. Remember I told you I picked up Vince’s fanny pack that we use at Daytona? Well, seems she put in a new zipper, but there’s no pull. So I have to ask her how you close it, we sure can’t figure that out.
Vince heard that some higher-up said that Harley was going to go to all electric. Has anyone else heard this? If they do, I wonder how their clientele will take to this????
For the most part, Amazon delivers pretty quickly. They aren’t always the cheapest, tho. I’ve been waiting for months for these Birkenstocks that I want. A friend who lives in Germany is going to send me them. Even tho with the shipping, they’ll be expensive. But then again, I know that they’ll last a long time (my last ones did) so in the end it’ll be worth it. I’ve also been waiting for a pair of gray jeans to be in stock and they’re never in stock
Rebecca – more food porn…
Heather – great flowers
pip -I’m with the others, stop beating yourself up. It’s not like you killed anyone, did you. Before you know it, this’ll be a thing of the past. Everyone is right, ***KITTEN**** happens
Rita – what I hate about getting old(er) is that it takes SOOO long to heal
Beth – hope your husband gets better real fast. MORE snow for you??????
Sue WA – good luck at the cardiologist and have a safe trip
Lisa – the only thing I do regarding social media is Facebook and that’s mainly to keep in touch with the kids. Don’t do Twitter, don’t do Instagram or Snapchat. Can’t be bothered
Off to Newcomer bowling.

I have thin heel lifts in my Hoka's now, at the advice of my most recent Podiatrist. I've also got them in a couple other pair of shoes. I find I have fewer foot problems if I wear a very slight heel.
I've been told that Crocs are good, but they're just too wide for me.
However, I do need the wide toe box, so I buy men's hiking shoes that lace up. That way I've got the wider toe box, but I can tighten them up toward the ankle so they don't fall off.
Amazon - I order things once or twice a year. They keep trying to sell me Prime, but there's no point.

Heather ... happy looking flowers!
My son feels fine ... and pray he remains covid-free because he just started a new job on Monday and they've been told that more than one day of illness and they're fired!?! Not quite sure how they get away with that. My husband is holed up in the back bedroom and is pretty miserable and I wear a mask when I take his meals to him. Lots of sanitizing going on here. My mom's facility was made aware that she's been exposed and they'll watch her for 10 days for symptoms and test on day five.
Beth near Buffalo where it's snowing hard.
Is it more than one day of illness without a medical certificate?
We're allowed 2 or 3 days without a certificate, and then questions start to be asked.
I hope your husband gets well quickly and the rest of the family is well.
