And as you are famously a stat-head, sorry you lost your treadmill data.2 -
@chris_in_cal & @tarun_yadavA Thank you for the link. I could not find this group. Thanks again.
@shanaber I ran/walked the She Power 10K in-person. I believe they had a virtual option. What I am curious about is why they got rid of the Half Marathon option? It was only a 5K or a 10K.
Team, as I mentioned in June, my mileage goal for July is 50 miles. Thus far for July, I have accomplished 11.25/50 through running/walking.
Everyone, have a wonderful night! Talk with you soon!7 -
@martaindale sorry for your loss power, but glad no damage. My daughter's power was out when she woke up at 6:30am, and just turned back on at 7pm.4
-
I was wondering about you this morning @Teresa502 . I'm glad that you are back and didn't get CoVID. Great run this morning. I love the cow picture. At least she was on the side of the road. I worry about them getting hit by a car too. I'm glad you were able to get her headed back home and the owners were putting her back up. Do have to run back up that hill? It looks like a killer.
@yirara Getting out and getting it done when you really aren't feeling it is a win! Good job.
@martaindale I'm glad you got your run mostly done before the power went out. Very happy to hear that you didn't have any damage. I hope your power comes back on soon.
@Scott6255 I'm glad your daughter is okay and now has power again.2 -

7 July - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - treadmill
8 July - Walked 1.00 miles - Ran 2.00 miles - driveway laps - doubles tennis for 1h29m54s
17.75/60.00 goal
I got up and did a driveway run before heading out for the day. I walked 0.5 miles, did a run/walk of 2/1 min x 8 (pre my plan), then ran when I felt like it and walked some to get to 2 miles, then walked 0.5 miles for cool down. The last run up Cardiac Crest was tough, but i did it. Avg pace for the wun was 13:36 min/mile. Avg HR was 128 with a max of 150 bpm.
I worked at daycare for 6 hours - 2 and 3 year olds. They were really good today and sweet.
After work, I played indoor doubles tennis. We were well matched today and had great points. My partner and I won 7-5 and 6-1.5 -
Quick (but not fast) 5k today.6
-
Lots of walking today, and a 5km run once it cooled down. My pace is steadily increasing and I’m so pleased to see it!8

July Goal: 130 Miles
7/1: 4.02 miles
7/2: 6.02 miles
7/3: 6.02 miles
7/4: 6.26 miles
7/7: 11.27 miles
7/7: 3.30 miles
36.89/130 miles completed for July
I ran 3.3 miles this morning. It rained overnight and a little this morning when I was heading into work, but it wasn't raining when I ran. It was humid, but not too miserable. That's all we got from Beryl up here. We did get close to an inch of rain which. @martaindale I'm glad you didn't have any significant damage and hope your power is restored soon. @scott6255 Glad your daughter is ok too.

Should start tuning into Wimbledon....
@martaindale hope you ate all the ice-cream before it defrosted.

I hope things are better for everyone who’s dealing with Beryl’s aftermath, stay safe!
Thanks for all the views on running with Covid. I am also scared of long covid and made the call to not run and allow myself to recover. I tried working from home and realized I’m not entirely asymptomatic (I fizzled after a few hours due to fatigue and still have mild respiratory symptoms). I will try walking a bit this morning.7 -
It's interesting how this stupid illness effects different folks. My boss was back at work yesterday and looking fine - no coughing etc. He told me he tested neg Sun evening. On the other hand another co worker is home sick and has been feeling like crap for days. And it's strange but it's almost like people want to keep it all hush hush. It's OK to say someone is out sick but NOT ok to say it's Covid. Altho at this point with all the spiking it's not hard to figure. I just come out and ask people. Which means I am avoiding large meetings for a while at work. It never seemed to be an issue to say you were out with the flu. 🤷♀️
Got a 5 miler in yesterday but really slow. And then ate like crap yesterday evening so my run today will probably be rough too. We got NOT a drop of rain in Austin as Beryl was avoiding I35 just like all good Texans and stayed east. Houston did get slammed. Hope you guys recover and get power back quickly. It was nice to have a northerly breeze but we will be back to hot and dry again.
Tennis this afternoon.
I have to say reading everyone's updates here is replacing my newsfeed fix even tho it is harder to comment individually.
I will probably go back to strava in a few weeks as I think my stalker will have given up by then and honestly I think they were only logging on to strava to check on me. It's probably actually good hearted but I just was tired of it.
I always hate to see all the tree damage.9 -
01/07 3.57 miles
08/07 3.75 miles
7.32/50 miles
Only fitted in 2nd run of the month last night. Lots of social thing going on with family but hope can knuckle down and catch up on runs and backlog of work for the next 2 weeks.
Beryl doesn't sound much fun!6 -

I agree. Some people are naturally early to bed, early to rise. Others are night owls. Nothing is wrong with being either. We are who we are so just embrace it and do your own thing!4 -
@ContraryMaryMary I understand. You did great.
@jem302 Great running. Glad you are seeing progress. That is great motivation to keep going.
Nice running @kgirlhart. I'm glad you didn't have significant winds.
You're doing great @chris_in_cal .
You did great to get out and run when it was a struggle @tarun_yadavA . I should watch Wimbledon, but I haven't watched much tennis in years. I don't even know who the big players are now.
@henridw2095 Fatigue will hit you when you least expect it. I hope the walk energizes you and you start to feel more like yourself every day.
@SummerSkier It is interesting how people still feel it is a taboo to mention that they have CoVID. I hope you can avoid getting it from the workplace. I know you said you needed rain, so I'm sorry that missed you, but glad you didn't get hit hard with Beryl. Great job on the run and I hope you enjoy your tennis later.
@mari333a It is hard some days to find the time to do everything you want. Great job on the two runs. You've got this.3 -
July 1 – 5.01 miles
July 3 – 5.10 miles
July 4 – 3.60 miles
July 6 – 7.02 miles
July 8 – 4.51 miles
July 9 – 3.01 miles
Total 28.25 miles/ Goal 100 miles
Garmin told me to take a rest day today but I was already dressed and out the door so I did a slow and easy 3 miler. Doesn’t it know I have a mileage goal to make? Temp was 72F and another beautiful dawn with the sun coming up.
@quilteryoyo – I wish I could say that I run up that hill. Unfortunately, I can’t make it all the way without taking walk breaks. But I do make it up eventually…at least I have so far! You had quite a busy day yesterday!
@martaindale – I hope the power is quickly restored to everyone. We mostly loose power in the winter due to ice and snow on the lines but in the winter we can use alternative heat and pack food in ice. I think it’s more of a danger in the summer with these extreme hot temperatures. Glad your daughter is ok @Scott6255.
Welcome home @tarun_yadavA! Leave it to you to be concerned about the waste of ice cream!
@SummerSkier – It is strange that being sick with COVID is hush-hush. When all this first started in 2020, we were told that if we washed our hands and kept them off our face, that we would not catch it. Therefore, I think people automatically think that others will judge them as being unclean or careless in not wearing a mask. Just my theory.

Another 4.8km speed up run tonight. Halfway through, the whole running thing suddenly... made more sense. It was like my body woke up and was like, oh we're running now? why didn't you say so?
I should've known I'm turning back into a runner when I woke up this morning and wanted to buy new shoes.
@Scott6255 congrats on dodging all the raindrops!chris_in_cal wrote: »ghastly smugness
@martaindale hope things go back to normal soon!
@WarmJellyfish welcome to the club, it gets crazy fun around here.9 -
@Teresa502 I completely agree with your Covid shaming theory.
@summerskier my bad. I'll try not to stalk you that much when you re-join Strava6 -
