SSP told me yesterday that if he wants to(I don't know why anyone would WANT to) he can eat an entire giant Double Dave's Pizza... yuck!

I used to be able to eat a half a Papa Murphy's Family Size stuffed pizza by myself. Now, I can MAX 2 slices. *flexes muscles*

I'm not proud of this, but I used to (regularly) order and eat potato wedges, chicken strips, a large pizza and a tub of ice cream, from Pizza Hut. I always planned to eat the wedges and strips one night, and the pizza the next. never happened. and when pizzas were on bogoff, i used to order 2, planning to eat one, save one. nup, that never happened either. I am such a pig!

I'm not proud of myself...but I have days where I can eat the world. Like, disgustingly huge amounts of food. Not sure how it all fits in there...but yeah. Kinda gross.

Same here. Then, once the eat-the-world feeling wears off, I feel so disgustingly sick/full and my stomach feels like it wants to pop, and I wonder how I could have gotten to this point of fullness without feeling the discomfort beforehand. I have no idea how it happens! It's like my stomach goes numb for a while, then suddenly feels everything at once. :s

Yep, I know this feeling as well. Every time it happens I always think, this is awful and I will never do this again. And yet, it always happens again...

Yes! It reminds me of being young and stupid drinking too much, getting hung over and swearing to never drink again. But then what do you know, the next weekend...there you are again drinking.

I used to like drinking. I looove me a craft beer. Specifically dark, malty, stouts and porters.... but I just could not manage alcohol while also targeting getting healthy. With beer, like food, I binge. And the recovery became too much sacrifice to my daily routine and ultimate goal.

    Yep that is definitely me!

I'm surprised that so many people can relate! I always feel so much guilt and self-disgust afterwards and all alone. :(

You are definitely not alone. But honestly, I was NEVER like this until last year after my mom passed away. :(

I'm finally caught up on 550+ posts, but I read fast so I'm sure I missed something.

I got sick over the long weekend - woke up at 3am Saturday morning to throw up, spent the rest of the day sleeping and feverish. I'm just starting to feel normal today, and I'm really ticked I missed out on my long weekend. No shopping with my mom, no hiking with my dog, no going to watch my friend's husband's band play, no drinks on the patio. I demand a do-over. Can we make the next 3 days a weekend, please?

My parents were over to help work on the patio Saturday (with just my brother & his girlfriend, since I was unable to help) and it was nice to have my mom there. Even though I'm 30 and haven't lived at home for 8+ years, she made me soup and took care of me while she was there. Maybe I should be a bit embarrassed but it was nice lol.

But my poor mom ended up with it Saturday night - not from me, we'd been at my aunt's house the same night, where I'm sure we picked it up from.

Glad you're starting to feel normal again. I LOVE it when my mom, or anyone really, takes care of me when I'm not feeling well. It gives you time to rest without having to worry about everything that needs to be done. Don't be embarrassed. Be thankful!

Very true! I am thankful. I don't think anyone else would've remembered that my dog needed supper, and if she hadn't brought soup from home I don't think I would've eaten anything all day. It's not something I keep in the house, but I really should.

    Edited because it bolded incorrectly.
Glad you had your mom to nurse you. Sometimes we all need to be looked after.
    Are you all better today?

Yes. I was still a little off this morning, but I'm feeling almost 100% now!

She could just get married in Nashville the weekend of CMM 2016. We're having a Confession Time weekend there already, right?

Excellent point! That will make the weekend even more fun! And super efficient for everyone's budgets!

I see a very impressive bicep picture. Which (don't stone me) I prefer over the Wonder Woman. :#

I like the wonder woman because that is how I got to know her. Just like @BZAH10 will always be her bicep picture.

I saw the allergist yesterday. He thought my nasal cavities, throat, and ear canals were fine, but expressed concerns about the sounds my jaws were making. He told me my allergies were likely exaggerated by some issues with my jaw, maybe TMJ, and refereed me to a specialist.

MY SO probably has a similar issue. He's been having a lot of trouble with episodes of muffled hearing in one ear and takes an antihistamine daily, but the ear nose & throat specialist thinks it is a jaw problem rather than ear or sinus. He's supposed to see his dentist about getting a mouth guard thingy to wear at night.

I already wear a mouth guard thingy because I grind my teeth at night, so I'm a little too thrilled that he will have to wear one too. Really I'm hoping that it helps with his awful snoring.

Please let me know if this does work because Mr. Mo snores like a freight train carrying a pod of humpback whales using chainsaws.

Bahahaha! I'm lucky in the fact that both my husband and I are silent sleepers, I guess. :D

I sleep like the dead. No noise. No movement. And not much bothers me. :) I can sleep through alarms and loud noises and terrible storms.

    You just described my husband.
One night, we turned on our house security alarm and didn't realize that one of the cats was down in the basement. So hours later, the alarm goes off because the cat set off the motion detector. I wake up immediately (it's super loud) and my husband isn't in bed...he had fallen asleep on the couch downstairs watching tv. So I run down to find him snoring away. Meanwhile..the alarm is blaring, the house phone is ringing because the alarm company was calling to check if it was an emergency, and I'm standing over him yelling for him to get up. It took a good 2-3 minutes of all of this commotion to finally wake him!! He had no clue what was going on. I guess we all know who would have to save the day if there ever was an emergency...

I could probably do this. :)

To jump in on the McD convo: I used to get their sausage & egg biscuit, then add cheese to it (sorry @peleroja ). I also love their fruit & yogurt parfaits. Not too many calories, but quite tasty. I consider it a dessert for my biscuit sandwich.

Also, sometimes I just really want a McD's cheeseburger. The little one. I almost never actually spend 400+ calories on that little bugger, but yeah. That's the only non-breakfast thing I'll eat there, along with a hot fudge sundae. Heh

Confession. I haaate the word parfait. Not sure why.... but it could be the best thing on earth and I wouldn't order it if I had to say the name when ordering.

So you wouldn't order a peanut buster parfait from DQ because of the word "parfait"?! I do not understand this logic. :/

I don't go to DQ but IF I were to go and order that specifically, I would probably say something like 'peanut butter thing' while waving my finger towards where it's listed on their menu. Much like Wawa's 'sizzli' menu. I hate that word as well.
I'm not sure why I hate it other than it just sounds silly to me. I want to punch both of them.

    Not peanut butter, peanut buster.

I kept thinking that was wrong but I couldn't remember what else it could be. Buster...Thanks for clearing that up.

You're welcome. Like I mentioned a million pages back, I worked at DQ in high school, so I'm quite familiar with their old school treats. The mint Dilly bar is still one of my most favorite things. I need one in my life soon.

That reminds me, someone (can't remember who) was talking about some frozen bars that were made from fruit juice or something and VERY low in calories. I think they're called Outshine or something, anywhoodles, I bought a mixed box last night at Target. The box has lime, strawberry, and raspberry. I'm most looking forward to the lime.

@m1xm0d3, Mr. Mo's favorite flavor so far is the Mediterranean Mint (I bought him a pint last night). I want to try the Roman Raspberry, but I can't justify spending $6 on a pint of gelato. I still have a full pint of B&J's Tonight Show Dough, and a full pint of Talenti cookie dough (I think).

Another upbeat, chirpy day, which is good. Probably all holiday related though. Great sessions at the gym.

My confession? I don't eat pork anymore (for a variety of reasons) and haven't done for about 15 years. The thing i miss the most? McDonald's sausage, egg and cheese mcmuffin.

A life without Canadian bacon, or regular bacon for that matter is scary lol.
    May I ask the reasons?

    I really dislike bacon.

The reasons are mostly, because improperly cooked pork can give you worms. And I had too many bouts, so i said no more. I only ever got them after eating pork. (and yes, i know you can get them from other things, and worse things from other meats). But touch wood, since not eating pork, i never had them again.

and also, i'm not really keen on the texture (i don't eat turkey or fish for the same reasons)

    I haven't eaten pork since I was around 7 or 8 years old. It's a texture thing.

I have vivid memories of sitting at the dinner table with a wad of chewed pork chop in my mouth that I absolutely could not swallow.

I have never liked bacon. DD had a maple bacon donut on the menu today. I think that is weird. I don't get the bacon fascination.

The aroma, the flavor, the fact you can add it to any edible thing imaginable and it becomes even better than without. I looove me some bacon. <3

With that being said, I haven't had any in a few months. :heartbreak:

A big juicy cheeseburger with perfectly cooked bacon on top is one of my guilty pleasures. Almost anytime I have the opportunity to eat a bacon cheeseburger, I most certainly will.

So, today I just want to say I am getting so fed up at my own posts and my mistyping. Particularly when I am trying to catch a few posts in the AM when I am stuck in traffic or guzzling my protein shake to get out the door, etc. Then I come back hours later and go grrrrr how did I mistype/post that so badly!

So, friends, as a sweeping apology, I apologize for mistypes, wrong words and misspellings in my (lame) efforts to keep up.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I never had a problem...but I definitely did my fair share of drinking. But anyhow, I haven't had anything to drink since 2009 sometime. Just no interest in it anymore..and out of respect for my husband who was developing an issue with using it when stressed. No more though. :)

ETA: Unfortunately, we cant quit food...we kind of need it. :) But I know what you mean..

Thank you to those who gave their condolences about my sweet dog's passing. She was 12 years old. It's a long story that I'm too heartbroken, miserable, and depressed about to type out, but I will say that I've had to force myself out of bed and do daily activities. Instead of eating tons of food, I've exercised to get my mind off it.

CONFESSION: I have to get a pelvic ultrasound to check for cysts since I haven't had my period in almost a year (last one was September last year) and I'm super nervous.

It is so hard to lose a loved one. Losing my dog last October left me in a funk for quite some time. I will always miss her and I still tear up just thinking about her. Everyone grieves differently, but something that helped me was to type up a list of any funny memories/experiences with her and quirks she had. It is incredibly important to me to remember as much of her as I can (and my memory isn't 100% trustworthy lol). I have a drawer filled with her favorite toys, her bowls, her collar & anything else that was important & worth keeping. I also donated to a canine cancer association in her memory.

Don't let anyone tell you to get over it, and don't let anyone rush you to get another pet. Take your time & grieve the way YOU need to.

As for the ultrasound, I am sending positive thoughts your way for that too!

OK, I shouldn't be here but had to do a quick check. Yay for so much good news in here! @bkhamill congrats on the new grandbaby, @crosbylee awesome cancer-free news, @orangesmartie so glad to hear you all WANT to work it out, and have fun in the UK @LBuehrle8!

I'm out for the next week (leave for conference tomorrow) and have no chance of keeping up here, but I'll try to pop into the bat cave. @MoHousdon and @jthurman3 I want to hear about your SL 5x5 workouts this week!

Dang it! I forgot I told you I was starting that this week. :o Guess I need to start that this week. We (Mr. Mo and I) were supposed to start this morning, but I had to take Rachael to her school to change her classes. Long irritating story.

I'm going to watch the second video at lunch today so I can learn workout B. Maybe Mr. Mo will want to go tonight after dinner. Doubtful, but maybe.

@WestCoastJo82 & @MoHousdon - We didn't do the workout yesterday, mostly because my knees were killing me from walking so many floors of stairs on my breaks last week (at least 20 floors a day Mon-Fri). It turns out my knees didn't love that. I want to make sure that I start the SL program with knees feeling good because the squats are what make me most uncertain with my sketchy knees.

I think we will delay the start to next Monday and I'm laying off the stairs this whole week so that I can start off the best way. I'm still really excited about the program and want to give it my all! My knees feel a bit better today and I think they will be 100% by the end of the week. I will definitely keep you posted!

I may hold off and start next week too. I still need to get me some Chucks and make sure I watch the tutorials as to not injure myself. I am excited about starting too, but not that excited about having to get up at least an hour earlier 3 times a week since Mr. Mo wants to workout before work.

@MoHousdon I just got the greatest shoes...New Balance Minamalist...they are different than any shoe I've ever worn. They have a wide toe area, which is good for lifting weights (they're weight training shoes). I can definitely tell a difference in my squats and deadlifts.

Confession - I still lift in running shoes... I keep meaning to buy something specifically for lifting, but never seem to get around to it.

I didn't really realize there were separate shoes for just lifting. Maybe I will look into some...

I lift in my slippers, which are actually handcrafted suede moccasins. Although occasionally I lift barefoot.

The benefits of lifting at home!

At my trainer's gym I lift barefoot, which I like, but at my regular gym I wear running shoes. I find I have issues with my feet rolling out when I squat in my runners, perhaps the shoe is part of the problem.

Not about the police check, but I KNOW I'm going to have to get a blood test and just knowing that makes me feel woozy and teary. On top of that I read a review of the place I am most likely going that said the woman giving the blood test made everything painful... oh please don't let that be the case for me.

The last time I got a blood test I passed out on the floor and woke up utterly confused and nauseous, wondering if the woman above me was my mom and being scared that I didn't remember anything. Passing out is something I have a great phobia of. :( Blegh blood tests.

Easier said than done, but try not to think about it too much before hand. And if you're prone to passing out, let the techs know ahead of time, you're not the only one who passes out, so I'm sure they'll have a way to help you, or at least move you somewhere safe before it happens.

And hey, usually you get free juice if you feel light headed or dizzy! And any blood they take OBVIOUSLY negates any calories the juice has.

Make sure you warn the staff, ahead of time if possible. Honestly, most nurses etc. that do a lot of blood tests are very used to people who are afraid of needles and they want to make it as easy as possible on both of you, so if you tell them that you're very frightened, they can make accommodations for you like doing the test in a bed or lounger instead of in a chair, taking extra time, and that kind of thing. They might even make sure that your appointment is with someone who usually works with children or who is known to be especially gentle.

I don't have a fear of needles but I've passed out a couple times after immunizations/bloodwork for unconfirmed reasons, so I now have to warn them beforehand in case and I can honestly say that not one person has been less than awesome about it. Even at the travel health clinic recently, the nurse gave me all my shots while I was lying on the couch to make sure I didn't topple off the chair or whatever and didn't make me feel silly about it at all. Even the pharmacist who gives me my flu shot goes out of his way to make sure I'm comfortable and safe. Don't hesitate to tell them how you feel so they can help you!
Thanks you guys! I'll definitely warn them in advance. When I got my cap placed in my teeth and they gave me a shot to numb the area I was fine... until I wasn't. The dentist asked me with a very very concerned voice if I was ok, and just hearing him ask that made me start to feel dizzy, so he leaned me back in the chair for around 15 minutes.

Anyone ever do this? Like when your mom asks if you're ok in a very sweet voice, and you just start tearing up and wanting a hug?

    YES!!
i'm doing fine, holding it in, then someone says in that ever so concerned voice...what's going on? you don't seem ok.
    then bam! floodgates open!!
I know - what is that?! I've had to say to friends before "Don't be kind, or I'll cry." Everyone always seems to know what that means, and will say something practical and bracing instead.

I'm the same way. Don't tell me you're sorry, or offer me hugs, or anything nice like that. Either ignore it, or make a light joke and let's all carry on. Otherwise I will bawl.

This is exactly how I was when my dog passed two years ago. I had one day of work left before I started my vacation and I knew I could make it through one day if no one was sympathetic.

I came close to losing it when my very sweet coworker neighbour asked me her usual chirpy, "So what did you do last night?" and I had to mumble an offhand, "oh, not much" when it was on the tip of my tongue to say, "Euthanized my dog".

I had the same issue when my dog was euthanized. It was over Thanksgiving weekend, so everyone was asking how Thanksgiving was and I would just mumble "it was fine" because I didn't want to get into it.

It really is so weird and kind of scary how most days, I can just eat like a normal person...normal sized meals/foods. Then, it's like something takes over my body with no satisfaction or feeling full until I eat so much that I'm ready to pop!!

Yup, exactly this! :/ I wish it would just go AWAY!

This weekend I have my Red Rocks concerts so I'm really excited (Pretty Lights Friday and Saturday). :) Hopefully no one laughs at me since I'm older but I bought jewels for my face so I'm going to put those on and I have Glowbys for my hair (fiber optic glow barrettes for hair). I'm just going to have fun. I'll try to post a pic in the batcave from my phone later of my trial run of the jewels to see what you guys think.

Friday morning we are going to Original Pancake house. Strawberry waffles and home fries here I come. Yay.

Cool! I used to be a raver and did all the decked out gear at one time. I've been an EDM DJ for over 5 years. I remember when Pretty Lights was just an up-and-coming midliner. Now he headlines all of his shows. Do you by chance like Bassnectar? He is always doing shows at RR.

Yes, I actually like Bassnectar as well but I've never been to their concert yet (I'm determined though!-I need to just go, I need more money haha). This will be my 3rd year going to the Pretty Lights Red Rocks concerts so I'm really excited. I look forward to it every year. Tickets sell out so fast though.

That is awesome that you are an EDM DJ. We would get along pretty well. That's my favorite type of music. I'm kind of jealous, I always thought being a DJ would be pretty fun!

Any specific genres you like more than others? I am a huge Drum & Bass fan but also like Breakbeats, Psytrance....

This is a photo from a party about 5 years ago. From what you can see my apparel was rather loud and eclectic. lol

I eat straight out of the container ALL THE TIME. Also, I can down a pint of ice cream like nobody's business.

    pfft! Lightweight ;)

    Yep that is definitely me!

I'm surprised that so many people can relate! I always feel so much guilt and self-disgust afterwards and all alone. :(

You are definitely not alone. But honestly, I was NEVER like this until last year after my mom passed away. :(

I was never like this either, until about eight months ago. I haven't the slightest idea what caused it, though--nothing life-changing happened at that point at all. :/

There's a local grill between work and home (read: temptation) that every Tuesday they offer a 1/2 lb burger with whatever you want on it (including bacon) plus boardwalk fries for $6.
It's been about 5 months since I've had one but I think about that darn burger every stinking Tuesday. One of these days I am going to give in and it will be a glorious reunion of burger & taste buds.

Awesome! Are those glow sticks too?

I like it all. Mostly anything with a lot of bass though. Love Drum and Bass. I don't even know what to categorize Pretty Lights music as but that I like it a lot. It helps calm me down when I'm stressed out.

It's funny because my second favorite type of music is old stuff like 1940's music. I'm weird like that. There is a spotify channel called electroswing or something like that and it has a lot of stuff I like (oldies mixed with electronic music)

Guys, I'm really sad because I was trying to post a picture on the random pic thread but it keeps showing up sideways no matter what I do to try to fix it. :(

Yes, there were some glow things around my neck. I was a very proficient glowsticker back then. I'll see if I can link you to some of my favorite mixes later this evening. Soundcloud is a great resource for new music.

I applaud your willpower. I am not that strong. HALF PRICE BACON CHEESEBURGER!!! I would be in burger heaven. I'm not sure what boardwalk fries are, but I'm sure I'd scarf those down too. There are few things I love in this world more than bacon cheeseburgers and hot crispy fries. Luckily for Mr. Mo, he's one of the few things.
