@Tramboman I've had those for a couple of years so I don't remember, but suspect ordered from Amazon. I don't see the exact ones but if you search stackable planters similar options come up.0

There was much suck embracing today!4 -
On the subject of suck embracing, it’s always nice to find out you made the right decision! Yesterday my husband and I were getting ready to head out, and I stepped out back to do my stretches and the world came apart at the seams. Trees whipping all around, bending almost to the ground, skies a lovely greenish color. Our yard, curiously enough, filled up with birdies, including several flocks which usually avoid each other - cowbirds and cardinals, finches and grackles, doves and chickadees. There must have been a hundred birds all clinging desperately to something and chirping wildly. I imagined them saying, “Go inside! You’re crazy!”
So I ran back inside and checked the weather, which I had checked only 30 minutes earlier. At that time it had stated that now would be pleasant, partly cloudy, 6 mph wind, if a little too warm at 82 degrees. Now it said the same thing. But at the top of the screen was a special weather alert warning of 60 mpg winds and there was a tornado up near Bartlett. I stepped outside again and about that point huge pelting raindrops started.
“Yeah maybe we aren’t running in this,” I told my husband, and he said, “You think?”
But it was gone as quickly as it came up. And the temperature dropped to 68. “I feel kind of beat up after lifting yesterday, and tomorrow is a rest day, we could take it early,” I suggested. “Yeah I wasn’t feeling this day either, I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I’m just tired. We can run tomorrow.” We puttered around doing our usual routine, reluctant to call it. “It’s supposed to be 84 tomorrow,” I said. We sighed, looked at each other, and headed out the door.
Yeah baby today it’s not 84. It’s 92! With a heat index of 97! And it’s my rest day because we ran yesterday when it was blessedly in the 60s!
Can’t say it was a good run, we are both sick of our limited routes. We ran up to the horse show grounds and ran laps around the stables. Three other couples were doing the same thing. Since neither of us were feeling very motivated we explored some new roads and walked and ran when we felt like it, to the tune of just under 7 miles. But any run is a good run when it’s not 97 friggen degrees out! SO GLAD we got it done!8 -

@rheddmobile Excellent choice! Always listen to the birds too. That's crazy that they all congregated in your yard. I might have freaked out a little at that.1

Today's plan called for 9 miles, easy effort. After my disastrous 8 miles last week, I decided to try something different today. First change was the route. I ran out the rural road today - a nice 2.5 mile loop. I was NOT going to run 30 laps on the driveway. It's a little bit flatter - still hilly, but not as hilly. Second, I decided to run/walk. So I ran what felt like an easy pace for 4 minutes and then walked a minute. My goal was to finish the 9 miles not feeling like I was about to die.
I stashed water/Gatorade and gummy bears at the end of my driveway so I could stop at the end of each lap and get some hydration/nutrition. After about 6 miles, I stopped every time I passed my driveway, adding a couple of stops.
It was hot and humid, to me - 73°F and 78% humidity starting out. There was also a pretty stiff wind that seemed to be blowing in my face both directions. The breeze made running a little more difficult, but did keep me cooler. I followed my plan and did really good. My legs didn't start getting tired until around 6 miles in. At the 9 mile mark I was feeling good and was at the easiest part of the route, so I went another half mile! Therefore, I reached my goal of not feeling like I was dying - even though walking back up my driveway at a very slow pace wasn't easy and required a couple of stops to rest. I also walked a mile total for warm up and cool down. Total distance traversed was 10.5 miles.
The run was 2:00:47 minutes for an average pace of 12:43/mile. Last week's 8 miles was 14:38/mile. The route probably contributed to most to that improvement. I was proud of my splits. They were pretty consistent. First mile was 12:18 and I'm thinking - you're going too fast. Slow down. Then I had 12:29, 12:29, 12:58 (big hill here), 12:53, 12:39, 12:52, 12:52, 13:04 (yeah, I was tired), 12:19/mile for the last half mile.

DATA POINT FOR Y'ALL
I went for a run today. Due to all the work on construction and helping someone move, this was my first run in a week. The temp was in the upper 70sF, and the humidity was 99%. I waited for hours for the humidity to fall, but it held steady and the temp just kept climbing.
So I headed out. I was planing a long easy run. I was thinking I would just get as far as I could in 4 hours. I filled my hydration pack with Skratch instead of my normal 0 calorie options because I knew it was miserable out there.
I ran a route I have run dozens, if not hundreds of times. I ran it by feel because that is what I do. I knew it would be slower than normal but time on feet was the goal.
Checked my splits when I got home (those of you on Strava can see them I guess) and my average for the run was over twenty % slower than a run when the weather was in the 40s. My HR confirms I was right on effort level, it is jus that much harder to run in high humidity.
Also I gave up at like 2:20 because it was like running with a 300-pound sack on my back. Was all about embrace the suck!
So anyway, when I say stuff like "summer running is way harder" - know that it is not just me being nice to new runners - IT REALLY IS HARDER. I say that cause I hear stuff like "Yeah, well you probably do not have that problem." -- Um, yes, yes I do.
You can train for heat, and I will, and that will reduce some of the impact, but in the end, the weather is greater than you or I and we must all plan for it.8 -

It was a warm one here today, too. I got up early for my saturday workout doing the steps at the park with a weighted pack. It was pouring rain when I woke up, but it stopped before I left home. Which I was happy about until I realized how humid it was. I really felt it today, and I was soaked with sweat. I was not in the mood to run after that, so put it off until later in the day. I took the dog out for a walk early afternoon and it seemed a bit better, then I cleaned my car and got all sweaty again. I decided I better just go out and do my run. It was still 80 degrees or so, but I ran a mostly shaded trail through the woods and it was not terrible. My legs were tired and it was slow. I also stopped my watch and forgot to restart and probably lost about .1 miles or so, but oh well.
And with that short run I met my goal for the month. All distances finished for the MAYHem challenge (obviously not in single runs, over cumulative distance)

I feel good about completing this, and with 8 days to spare (thanks to the crazy 48 hour challenge I did at the start of the month). This will probably end up being my 2nd or 3rd highest mileage month ever.

Found out why my sunburn hurt so bad 😭 it ended up blistering. This is 3 days after. I swear, I put sunblock on three times in a 5 hour period. My friends that were along didn't wear any and burned, but not this bad.
On the bright side, it felt okay enough for me to run tonight. Only to be met with an awful cramp in my quad that didn't let up the entire run, although it was bearable. They've been plaguing me at night in my calves, too. Everything online as far as muscle cramps in pregnancy point to dehydration or magnesium deficiency. I'm definitely not dehydrated, as I drink close to 2 gallons of water a day, so that points to magnesium, right? Which would make sense as I have been forgetting to take my prenatal vitamins the last month. I picked up some more, as well as a magnesium supplement.
Wish me luck! Because I am not ready to give up running yet 😔

Welcome!
You will find that the choice of watch is greatly personal in style, taste, need, and most importantly budget. I use a Garmin Forerunner 935 which was last year's most expensive model (the 945 has replaced it) and most people will not want it for that reason alone. The Garmin forerunner 245 is a great option at a more middle of the line price.
Here is good info on the Garmin 245:
https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/04/garmin-forerunner-245-music-gps-watch-in-depth-review.html
Some in this thread prefer Fitbits. Some prefer the Garmin Vivoactive line, and so on. I do not think there is a "right" choice here. Some even prefer to use their Apple Watch.
DC Rainmaker is about the best place to research a watch:
https://www.dcrainmaker.com
He has very extensive reviews of just about every watch out there.
So I suggest the best place for you to start is to decide what you want the watch to do for you. Then start looking at which ones meet those features. If you can see one physically that would be a very good thing. Some of these (like mine, or the Fenix line) are rather large and that turns people off too.3 -
Aw dang @brittanystebbins95 ! That's just awful! Maybe switch to one of those beautiful zinc oxide sunblocks for the remainder of your pregnancy? My DD is very fair (25yo) and I get 50-100spf for her. She can still burn if she's neglects reapplying.0
-
@brittanystebbins95 biggest hugs! Last time I remembered burning that bad was in Tonga and it was AWFUL! I unfortunately don't tan at all, I go white to lobster read back to white, so I use a copious amount of sunscreen when I'm in the sun.
@lilybed welcome!
As @PastorVincent said everyone had a preference. I think most runners use Garmin though there is a move to other watches such as Polar and Suunto (?).
I personally have a Garmin Vivoactive 4s. I have this one because I wanted a GPS watch that also had music and all day activity /calorie tracking.
If you are only interested in basic tracking of runs, and maybe daily steps then a 245 is great. If you want more precise running metrics such as cadence etc you want to move up to more premium watches like the 645.
Most of them have heart rate, and most are moving to having music.
I switched from fitbit a couple of years ago, and will never go back. I have found Garmin has a superior build quality, fitbits tend to fall apart after about a year of use.1 -
Well no calls overnight, whew. I was going to go out for a walk at 9am, but got called to work haha. And as we had rain forecast I took the kids out in the morning. Good thing to cause the rain hit around lunchtime and is now settled. I've had a bit of pain in my right calf for the last 2 days. I've massaged and rolled, but it seems to be persisting. Don't think it's my shoes they are all less than 3 months old and haven't had that much use, but I have been on my feet a lot at work. So decided a rest day is appropriate.
Hope it's OK tomorrow

Morning all, just back from a tough run and highly amused to catch up on here and read all the stories of ‘embracing the suck’. Weird thing is, it’s cooler this morning than it has been, and I certainly don’t have anything like 99% humidity to be dealing with unlike @PastorVincent! But for whatever reason, today was hard.
Managed just over 10k, and just sneaked in under 11 min/mile average pace. But I had to stop a couple of times in the last mile and a half, which i never do. At any rate, it’s done and I’m over my May goal now.
Glad you have your watch @Avidkeo. Relieved you escaped all the mad weather @rheddmobile. Well done on the 8 mile run @quilteryoyo! Was it @katharmonic celebrating daughter’s graduation? If so - congrats to you and I’m just sorry it has to be a virtual one.
Wishing you all a great Sunday. X

Not going to make goal this month.
Couldn't sleep at 5am, so loitered around for a while then headed out for a run. It was 22° when I started and 29° when I stopped, and it showed in my pace! Ugh. Summer again.6
