@trooworld I really like them so far! They don't have a lot of padding, which is actually a plus for me, but I've had mine now since basically the start of covid and they've held their shape well. I haven't tried 3rd Love, but I used to do Victoria Secret and these are thinner with much less padding (which I'm not sad about!). Sorry to hear about your arthritis pain, I hope you feel better today!
@theslightedgeforever I bet there is a huge correlation there! My parents were both extremely active and it took me a long time to find physical movement that I liked, but once I did I was hooked. I wonder if certain people get more of a serotonin dump from physical activity than others? Cause I know I'm downright grouchy when I don't move for a few days.
@cbabie How scary! Is your daughter okay? You do have a lot of stress and outside factors at play. My hope for you still this year is that you take steps towards putting yourself first, because you deserve care too!
I had a great time with the quaranteam last night and stayed within my goals. I even felt good enough this morning to still get up early for an upper body workout (which is a huge improvement from last week when I was too hungover!). Our of our quaranteam's birthdays is next week so we're surprising them by renting out the movie theater! Between the four of us it was actually fairly economical and a cool COVID-safe activity so it'll be fun to actually get dressed up and go out to the movie theater for a night!
I hope you all have fantastic days!

Morning all, I didn't walk yesterday. I did track, I was a few over goal if I didn't include my step activity. LOL But I tracked. That is my goal. You can't change what you don't know and you don't know if you don't track. I did get my goals for some of my health written, I am still working on a routine for supplements. I am going to try using my cbd oil for a 2 weeks consistently to see if I see any change. I am so stressed and tense these days. If it's not the outside world, its the inside world. This I do boundries book I am reading says my emotion tells me what is going on inside. I am allowed to feel fear, anger, sad, etc...but it is like your engine lights coming on . It tells you what is going on under the hood...so if your gas light comes on you need gas...but what if you were watching the gauges, you could fill up before your light says you have 2 miles of gas left. So my emotions need to be gauged and dealt with. I choose how to deal with them not tell someone YOU make me angry...no I allowed them to make me angry. Sorry for the long post.
@trooworld I am sorry your back is hurting again. I do think sugar makes our joints inflamed. I am looking at the sense...I think I am going to make it a reward for my health goals.
@theslightedgeforever I am glad you have DD to enjoy travel with. She is fun. Thank you for the positive feedback.
@mswatson0777 I hear you on the so busy I don't know what to do on the downtime. I think that is why I eat more. I have been overly busy for 30 some years and don't know how to relax. I have to remind myself that my job is to take care of baby girl...not make another career LOL

@theslightedgeforever I went and looked at the newsletter you wrote about and I disagree with lumping refined carbs and sugar together with high-fat foods like meat and butter. I think better clarity would be IF you eat the refined carbs with the high fats then you have a good chance of being depressed and fat. BUT if you eliminate the refined carbs and sugar and just eat the high fat then you might not be depressed or fat.
@mswatston0777 Glad you had a fun time with your friends! I’ve heard that you can rent a movie theater. Such a fun idea! What movie will you watch?
@cbabie Ouch so sorry about your daughter hurting herself like that. I hope she is feeling better. Giving CBD oil a try is a good idea. It sure helps a lot of people. I don’t know what to advise to give you other than take it to God and pray he will help show you how best to manage. In the meantime, just keep watching those gauges and fill up before you get to empty.
@trooworld Glad you are feeling a little better and got good sleep. I hope you like your WW meals. You are so big on flavor so maybe you can doctor them up if need be. That is good that your DH is getting the shot.
Good morning! Sooooo drum roll please…this morning's scale has me down 75.1 lbs!! I was really hoping to hit that number for today’s weigh-in. It’s only taken four years to lose that much weight but I tell myself that I’ve been trying for over 30 years so four years isn’t so bad. I’ve learned a lot about myself and what works for me, so that is all good, right?I went bra shopping and brought home three from Khols because they don’t let you try stuff on right now. One of them fit well. It’s a little big around but gives me good support and will work for a few months. Tomorrow the staff is having a baby shower lunch for our associate pastor and his wife. It will be the first time this month that sweets will be a temptation, but I’m determined NOT to touch them and break my no sugar January streak. I told myself that I can have cake at the wedding in February so I don’t need a cupcake tomorrow. I’m making chicken salad and Deviled eggs so I know there will be things I can eat that won’t blow my plan. Have a good day!

Morning all, I took 10,066 steps yesterday, logged but was over my calories, not sure on sleep, my battery died and I didn't know it on my Fitbit. I tracked and took my supplements and oil. I am still stressed, family dynamics at play, but I am headed in the right direction.
@trooworld I would like to fall out of touch with the world, it's part of my stress and anxiety. LOL. I am sorry your back is still tight, but glad you are sleeping better. Let us know how the WW recipes work out. Love the penguin picture for Teresa..LOL
@TeresaW1020 Congrats on the loss. You have found what works for you and most of the time it really is about the journey not the end result. Although both are happy notes for you!! Congrats on no sugar. Glad you found a bra, it's hard to find one that feels like you are not wearing one, sticking gouging, suffocating..LOL
@mswatson0777 My daughter is better, yes. Thank you. Thanks for the pep talk. That sounds like fun renting out a theater. You guys now how to celebrate. LOL. Hope you keep that joy and laughter I hear in your post in you, even while you are working.
cbabie0 -
@trooworld I'm glad your arthritis is better now. I've been doing some stretching exercises trying to reduce my hip pain. Maybe just go out for a short walk to start and then build on that. I'm like your hubby on "I never get the first of anything". lol
@mswatson0777 Good for you for staying in your boundaries. There really might be a generational correlation. I'm grouchy if I don't get my sweets. lol My parents always had sweets every night. I grew up with Hostess Twinkies, HoHos, and Ding Dongs. We didn't have much money but there was always money for those. I'm a Soma bra gal. I like to splurge on those. That sounds so fun about the movie theater.
@cbabie Good for you for tracking. It's the first step. Your book sounds really good. I may read it once I'm done with my other books I'm reading right now. A bit sad today when I looked at the date and thought it's Dad's bday I need to call him.Your job is to take care of yourself first so you can take care of baby girl. If you are sick and decrepit then what? How is your daughter now?
@teresaw1020 I see your point now. I think it depends on the actual person. I know someone who takes depression medication but has very little fat in her diet. Other friend has super high cholesterol and based on her diet shouldn't have. So yes it's an experiment of one. I do not want to be my mother in law. Woohoo on the 75 lbs. That's awesome. I hope to join you one day in that victory. I'm half way there.
I had dinner at a friend's house last night still managed to stay OP. Learning to eat half portions.
I lost 1.9 lbs this week.
January goals:
Green-Stayed OP 171/238 gm
Intentional Exercise-46 min strength training, walking, stretching(got 253/300 burned calories)
Water-25%
Zone minutes 32 minus 3 due to inactivity 5/80 -
Morning all, I walked yesterday, but emotionally I cried all day. I did better on my food.. But I am on a fast rn praying. So over all it was a good day. My walks are important to me. LOL I have to laugh at myself. I have a book thats kind of a devotional..called Sparkling gems. I felt led to read todays pages. It was all about self care...are you so busy taking care of everyone else that you forget yourself? If you give and are empty you have nothing to give. Now it was talking about about a preacher of a large church and not spending time with God, but my mother had a saying I apply to me ...first the natural then the spiritual. I even took all my supplements and drank my elderberry juice...so all boxes checked.
@trooworld That review is great..what an awesome thing to have. Yea on the loss!! Never despise small beginnings. LOL.
@theslightedgeforever Yea I wrote on his FB then my camera gave me a review "on this day". Dad's birthday 9 years ago, mom was still alive..I cried. oh well you forgot we grew up on fried cheeseburgers too...LOL
Cbabie0 -
@TeresaW1020 Congratulations!!! 75lbs down is a huge accomplishment!!! And we're going to watch Groundhogs Day (I know a lot of references from it but I've never seen it so I'm excited!)
@trooworld I'm so glad you found some stuff on the website, let me know how you like them!
@cbabie way to track and get your movement in! I'm so sorry that it was a rough emotional day. I'm glad you were able to cry it out although I hope today is better. I hope you're able to embrace the message to care for yourself, because you deserve it!
@theslightedgeforever Congrats on the loss! I've never been much of a Hostess girl, but I LOVE homemade cake. I try to keep cakes and cookies out of the house because I devour them, but I do have mini dark chocolate bars for a daily sweet treat. I find it keeps me from bingeing
Happy Three Day Weekend! I slept in until 7 and then laid in bed for another 30 minutes, it felt glorious. Last night my SO and I had a date night and watched WandaVision and Soul on Disney+ (I recommend both). It felt good to watch some lighthearted TV and just snuggle on the couch after a long week. I got my dissertation edits back so I'll have a busy couple of weeks ahead of me while I make those edits. I'm glad she got them to me before the three day weekend since I'll actually have time to dive in before work takes over my life again on Tuesday.0 -
@trooworld Awe thanks for that graphic! Those Emperor Penguins are really big!
Ohhh that isn’t good about the Ambien only being a temporary fix. I hope you can get into a sleep clinic and find some real answers. Great job on losing that pound!! Keep it up.
@cbabie Glad, you were able to get out and walk. I very much agree with that book and that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others around you. Hang in there!
@theslightedgeforever You don’t want to be your mother-in-law and I don’t want to be my sister. I’m hoping to actually become an inspiration for my sister before she ends up bedridden when she gets older. Thanks for the whoohoo! You will get there for sure! You are one of the most determined people I’ve met in my online communities.
@mswatson0777 Thanks! I’m pretty happy about finally hitting that number on the scale. I LOVE Groundhogs Day! Glad you are having a good weekend.
Hi everyone! Well, I almost did something totally stupid. I had the wrong date for the baby shower. It’s not today but next Saturday. Thank goodness I texted one of the girls a question who cleared up my misunderstanding before I showed up today with a big bowl of chicken salad and Deviled eggs and no one to eat it.I have a children’s church tomorrow and spent most of the morning putting together my lesson plan. I also did a workout and now I’m off to watch Day 6 of the Quit Sugar Summit. I really have enjoyed all the great speakers and info I’ve been getting.
0 -
@TeresaW1020 If you can believe it this was my first time seeing it! We laughed so hard in the theater, I love dark comedies! And that is too funny about the shower, thank goodness you texted someone.
@trooworld The second half is really cute as well. I'm glad you were able to get out for a walk and enjoy the nice weather.
Happy Sunday! We had an absolute blast at the theater, it felt so wonderful to do something semi-normal for once. And honestly, it was great to be able to talk in the theater without annoying anyone! I'm definitely not losing any weight this weekend, but we had so much fun I'm not mad about it. I'm cooking healthy meals for the rest of the weekend/week. I spent the morning reading for fun and the afternoon doing some dissertation work, and now I'm about to round it out with a walk or yoga or something.0 -
@trooworld it sounds like you had a great day yesterday! How is your arthritis pain doing?
@mswatson0777 Glad you liked the movie! It's one of my all time favorites and you make me want to watch it again. Maybe on Groundhogs day.
Good morning and happy Monday! Today, I need to do some housecleaning and go to Aldis. I have a lower body workout to get through first. Last night my hubby put his hand on my leg and commented that my leg was so much thinner. I was like, "finally you noticed"I need to have a good week because this weekend is the baby shower and then on Sunday is mom's birthday and we are taking her out to dinner. I did find a recipe for individual Keto cheesecakes that I plan to make for us to enjoy too.

Been a bit since I check in. Way over indulged on hubby’s days off. time to kick it into overdrive have a few pounds to go to make it to my end of January goal. Hope everyone is doing well. Will try to get caught up on posts today.0 -
January goals:
Green-Stayed OP 94/100 gm
Intentional Exercise-41 min walking
Water-50%
Zone minutes 57 minus 0 due to inactivity 9/80 -
@TeresaW1020 Isn't it so funny how many pounds it takes before our SO's notice! Lower body workouts are always so challenging. I did the 21 day fix plus cardio core this morning and it was a challenge!
@theslightedgeforever Looks like you're doing well on your goals! Now just adding the hydration in!
Welcome back @renaegry!
@trooworld I've been really impressed by how much WW have grown in their recipe game. I used to try to make some stuff from them in the early 2000s and it was so bland and flavorless. I once tried a crockpot red curry from them that called for 2-4TBS of red curry paste for the very large crockpot (for real). Now they're actually using spices!!!
Happy Monday all! Since I have the day off I got a workout and a dog walk in this morning and now I'm going to do some dissertation work before I do a virtual movie night with friends. I cooked up a bunch of healthy food and did some laundry yesterday so I'm ready to take on the week.
I've been noticing I've been getting really grumpy when it's time to do my dissertation work. I need to work on a bit of an attitude adjustment or it's going to be a long year. I feel like 2021 is the year of putting the work in for 2022, since by 2022 I'll hopefully be done with classes (and tuition payments!) and vaccinated so I can actually enjoy a social life again. But to get there I have to buckle down this year and put in the dissertation work and stay safe. I just keep reminding myself that this is the year of achieve so the following year can be a year of enjoy!0 -
Hope everyone has a great night! Started back tracking today. Making it a goal to track everyday and get up at 4:30 am. Need more time in the morning beforehand work but I’m far from a morning person.0

I hear you. I need one with my main job...or I need to find a new one LOL gotta get through 2021 now!0 -
@gemwolf110 4:30am?!? Holy buckets! You must go to sleep super early to get up then!
@trooworld Impressive water intake! It is really hard to avoid the treats when they're right in front of you. I know I've struggled staying out of the kitchen! Getting up and taking a short walk to the other building sounds like a great plan to avoid treats and incorporate movement.
Happy Tuesday! I'm feeling fairly refreshed after the three day weekend. Yesterday I got all my goals in and I didn't overeat sweets which I'm calling a win. Today I got up early, got a workout in, and got 40 minutes of solid dissertation work in before work. I'm realizing that I need a few days to come to terms with requested edits before I can start to make actionable progress on them. Once I break them down they're really not too bad. I got Chapter 3 out again to one of my committee members and now I'm tackling wording changes before adding additional content. I've got two more weeks to get it back to my advisor to stay on track which I figure is plenty of time.0 -
@trooworld Glad that the WW recipes are turning out well. Great job on getting in your water! You have come a long way from where you were, huh? OK, you do need to go to the other building or have a stern talk with yourself that if you go into that room it’s to get the water and then get out. Don’t even look at that chocolate! Tell yourself that for a VERY short time of tasty pleasure you will be in pain for a much longer time. It’s NOT worth it!!
@mswatson0777 all core programs are a challenge for me, but I’ve come a long way from where I was in the beginning so I guess I better keep at it.Glad that all is going well with the dissertation and that you feel good about the timeline. How are the dogs doing?
@gemwolf110 Yikes, that is an early time to get up. What time do you have to be at work?
Good morning! I just got back from the weekly Walmart trip with mom. I had to skip the workout today because yesterday was leg day, and it was intense and slightly hurt my left knee. And then later that day I slammed the same knee into the side of my office chair. Don’t ask me how! Anyway, it’s better but just to be safe, I will rest it. Plus, I didn’t get much sleep last night. My dog was up most of the night whining and groaning from what seems to be a stomachache. I think she overate the meat from the roast I made for dinner and had too many treats. So, we are all tired today.

@mswatson0777 My hubby didn't notice I lost weight til I lost those 23 lbs in latter half of 2019. It sounds like you have a good plan laid out for the next year. Figure out a way to make that lemonade. Yaaay on getting all of your goals in.
@gemwolf110 Yaaay on your tracking. I've been trying to get up early too. I get so much more done but I'm training myself to be a morning person.
@trooworld I got 25%Maybe I should start drinking it hot. Yaaay on your water. You are doing great keep it up. When you encounter treats, just sing the song from Dionne Warwick, Just Walk on by.......... as many times as it takes to pass it up.
January goals:

Intentional Exercise-rest day

Morning: Walked and tracked.
@mswatson0777 Sounds like you are doing great on your goals. Congrats
@trooworld Yea for the water, sorry to hear your back is still hurting.
@TeresaW1020 ouch on the knee, good plan to rest. Sorry your dog was up all night, hope you rest today.
@gemwolf110 You have started, that is always a plus.
Cbabie0 -
Hi all! I have to be in by 8 am but want to give pups plenty of free time in the morning. Try to be in bed by 9. It’s new for me. I’ll be a zombie by the end of the week especially when you add in stress from work. Thank goodness for my pups. They keep me together.0
-
@gemwolf110 Thank goodness for pups indeed, they're my lifesaver as well during stressful times
@cbabie Way to go!! Sounds like you had a great day on track
@theslightedgeforever That's too funny that it took so many pounds for him to notice, they are so clueless sometimes!
@TeresaW1020 So sorry to hear about your knee, I hope it feels better today! It sounds like yesterday was quite the doozy for you. And the dogs are doing well! They're not getting as many walks as they'd like since the weather hasn't cooperated, but hopefully it'll clear up soon.
Happy Wednesday! We're having our friends over for drinks and dinner after work which I'm really looking forward to. I had a breakthrough at therapy yesterday. I've been so crabby every time I opened my dissertation, but I realized it wasn't crabbiness, but grief. The anniversary of my father's passing is coming up and he used to edit every single one of my master's and undergraduate papers. My dissertation is the biggest paper I will ever write and he's not here to be my editor and so every time I've been opening up the document to edit it I've been having a really emotional reaction. Now that I know what it is I hope it'll be easier to combat.1 -
@theslightedgeforever, My Beck Diet Solution arrived yesterday! I’m excited to read it and learn all I can to switch my thinking from being a fat girl to a thin girl. I’m wondering if I should wait to start the six-week program until after I get back from Florida (I’ll be gone three days) or just jump back in when I come back home. What do you recommend?
@cbabie Good job on walking and tracking! The knee and the dog are all better, thankfully.
@gemwolf110 It will take a bit for your body to adjust but you will if you stay consistent. I can understand wanting to spend time with your babies.
@mswatson0777 Ohhh that is so hard to have lost your father and not have him with you share this important part of your life. I’m glad that you were able to see why your mood was so crabby and now maybe you can gain a bit of peace with your project and know that your dad is still cheering you on and believing in your awesome ability.
@trooworld Glad, you are finding such yummy recipes to make. I just don’t buy the thought that food is only fuel and we should think of it as such. That is bull because we are wired to need enjoyment and we should enjoy our food. Especially if we are denying those foods that aren’t good for us, like chocolate!Wow on your water intake!! What turned you around that you are now getting that much in you every day?
Good morning! We all slept in until almost 8 am today! My knee is good so I will go do a workout in a few minutes. It’s been 20 days since I gave up sugar and wine. It’s been easy but I haven’t been faced with many temptations either. Saturday is the baby shower, but I’ve already vowed that I will not touch cake or punch. Then Sunday is mom’s birthday, and we are taking her out for a steak dinner. I might have a sweet potato and I’m making her a Keto cheesecake, but that is with monk fruit so I’m not going to count that as breaking my sugar challenge. I found a recipe for individual cheesecakes, so we won’t be having leftovers.
Yesterday I watched a good documentary called Follow Me. It's about a man who lost 130 lbs who interviews 11 other people who have kept their weight off for five to 30 years. It talks about the importance of mindset, knowing your why, and the importance of having a support system. I found it super inspiring. It was $1.99 to rent. https://vimeo.com/ondemand/followmefilm

afternoon, walked and tracked
@gemwolf110 Glad you have your pups and good to see you this morning.
@mswatson0777 Glad you found the trigger for your emotions. It helps when we understand why, but it doesn't always stop them.. You got this, he raised you!
@trooworld Yes going the extra walk will be a double good thing. More steps, less sweets LOL. I was like yes send me the recipe, but then I saw the mushrooms...I don't like mushrooms lol...so glad you liked the recipe. Yea on the scale going down.
@TeresaW1020 sounds like you are having a great week, less the knee and dog. LOL. I love cheesecake and I am sure you are like trooworld's recipies..complicated.. I know nothing good ever comes from 2 ingredients. I can hear the excitement in your post. I am glad you are doing so well on the sugar.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld I laughed a bit at your description of the vegan mushroom soup, not quite a ringing endorsement! And I totally get the struggles with motivation, that is absolutely me today.
@cbabie Thank you for your kind words! Way to hit your goals two days in a row!
@TeresaW1020 It sounds like you have a great plan in place to stick with your goals! I'm so glad your knee is feeling better, how did the workout go?
I was to the bone tired yesterday. Instead of doing a walk after work I literally fell asleep and took an hour nap! I NEVER do that! Our quaranteam friends then came over for dinner and champagne. It was a low-key night which was good, but I almost cancelled since I was so exhausted. Tonight luckily is free so I can hopefully get a dog walk in and go to bed EARLY!0 -
@cbabie Another day of walking and tracking is great! How are you feeling these days?
@trooworld I promise that if you keep tracking your water, pretty soon it will become such a habit that you won’t need to track anymore. I just took my water tracker off my watch because the reminders were annoying the heck out of me.
@mswatson0777 My workout yesterday was #MBFA upper body. She does these things called Megan Minutes. The shoulder shrugs with my 15 lbs for a whole minute after already doing three sets of them was no joke!Glad you had fun with your team and sometimes when we are that tired there is nothing better than a good nap.
Hey everyone! It’s cold and drizzly here today. So, that means lots of coffee!!Staff meeting was good and we talked about Easter and what we are going to do. I think we are leaning towards two services just to be on the safe side with our social distance seating we still have in place. Afterward I went to the office and found some fun baby shower games to play this Saturday. I took today off from working and I’m still going strong on my no sugar challenge.
0 -
Afternoon..no walk yet tracking though
@TeresaW1020 you are doing great! Not sure what our church will be doing for Easter.
@mswatson0777 So glad you enjoyed your friends and
@trooworld LOL, yes it was a change for me with DH home. But we are allowed a day here and there.
Cbabie0 -
@trooworld Headaches are the worst. I'm sorry to hear that! I hope your husband sticks with WW too, it's great to have an accountabilibuddy
@cbabie Did you end up getting your walk in?
@TeresaW1020 I hope you enjoyed your day off work! I haven't tried MBFA yet since I've been too intimidated but you've inspired me to give it a try!
Happy Friday! Today I have an all day board meeting (blerg). But after work our quaranteam is getting together for dinner which should be fun. I weighed myself this morning and I'm below 160 which I'm calling a win. Ideally I want to be 150 or below, but in pandemic land where I'm home all day every day being in the 150s at all is a huge win!1 -
afternoon, tracked and walked
@mswatson0777 I did not walk yesterday, was pretty much a bust here. Yea on the loss and the scale #. You got this!
@trooworld Hopefully DH gets on the train with you. It always is more fun that way.
Cbabie1 -
I'm here..............
I didn't realize it had been so many days. I have had an extremely busy week. But it's almost over. One more appt for my mil next week and nothing else planned. Oh, just remembered my son's bday. lol
Not even going to try and catch up since I have a Zoom play cards date with my daughter in 10 min.
I gained 1.8 this week.Over calories 2 days and over carbs one day. Exercise was spot on.
January goals:
Green-Stayed OP 237/238 gm
Intentional Exercise-rest day
Water-25%:|
Zone minutes 0 minus ??? due to inactivity 0/8 Fitbit was dead part of the day.
0 -
@cbabie Sorry yesterday was a bit of a bust, do you have a plan to conquer today?
@theslightedgeforever Sounds like you've got another busy week ahead! Good job still getting your activity in
@trooworld It sounds like that means an even bigger loss next week, you got this!!!
Hey all. Our quaranteammate made a three tier homemade cake that was stunning. I had some and ended up feeling so sick overnight, like up every hour with stomach pain kind of sick. I'm thinking it was the cream cheese frosting since I'm lactose intolerant, but I felt awful. Today, I've been eating toast and eggs and other bland food.
I did get out to get a walk in which did make me feel a bit better. Now I'm going to work on some homework stuff and dissertation stuff this afternoon since it's snowing again.1
