Wasn't a tip so as much as getting some blood work back and the PA being like "So, you're glucose is a little high. It's not a guarantee for diabetes but we should keep an eye on that..."6

For me it's been tracking every single calorie I consume, even the bad and ugly. It's been a slow process, but I've lost 75lbs in 13 months and I would never have been this successful without a tracking app.14

I dropped drinking glasses of milk, most cheese, and most bread. Took 700 calories out of my day and I didn't miss it.6

ed losing more weight when I stopped having tea with milk and sugar rather than I take black coffee now. Those 3cups of tea would be around 400calories and without them I'm losing weight much faster than before.Duhhhh [/quote]
I am completely confused by this. 6 teaspoons of sugar is 96 calories. Three servings of half and half is like 45.1 -
Losing the sugary shite. Even a small "treat" makes me hungry for the rest of the day.7

Well... if you use like half a cup of 2% milk in your tea like I do, and 2-3 tsp of sugar like my bf does... That's 90-105 cals per cup of tea. And if you use cream instead of milk, that brings it even higher. I used to put 80-100 cals of creamer in my tea and coffee. Not sure why you're confused that 3 cups of tea could equal hundreds of calories...5 -

Where are you finding half and half thats 10 or 12 calories per serving?
Even my fat free is 20 calories per 30ml/2tbsp serving, and it’s the lowest I found.
Would LOVE to find one that’s lower so I can have more!!!

I bought a food scale and started measuring my portions and logging everything.12

Covid was my trigger, my excuse was always lack of time, work, kids etc etc
When lock down hit, I’d no excuse, started waking everyday and really enjoying it, started slow, 1km a day, I now walk up a minimum of 5km a day and up to 10km if I have the time, but I go out every single day, rain, sleet or shine.
I’m down 71lbs and feeling great!!

One thing that was obvious for me was that eating in restaurants was an easy way to take in 1000 calories without batting an eyelash. So now, eating out is a rare event. I like to prep my own meals where I can control the portion sizes.

Hearing someone on youtube say 'your body is a calculator'.
That isn't entirely accurate - too many variables - but realizing so much of it was math and if I knew some numbers I could get somewhere made it much more... doable to me.5 -
When my 5 year old grandson poked my chins and said "Squishy Grammie". Out of the mouths of babes. And also counting my calories and weighing everything. Eye opening!7

When I was about 94lbs a couple years ago, I stepped on the scale, and my doctor immediately asked me, "Have you been eating a lot of junk food?" At that time, I was working out for 3 hours a day and eating only a little bit of rice and vegetables. I know I shouldn't take it too personally, but that still really bothers me and I tend to obsess over little things. Since I haven't had any health issues, I've been avoiding the doctor until I'm under that weight. Now I'm trying to eat more than the 500 calories I was having at the time and not exercise so drastically. This year will be my first doctor's visit in almost 4 years, and I'm going to be strong and satisfied with myself even if she isn't.11

What triggered my weight loss....
Stepping on the scales to discover I was over 25 stone.

Hitting 85kg once again. never been over that, hopefully never will be.0

Calories in versus calories out...it all comes down to simple math. I'm not some sort of special person that my metabolism works any differently. (Yes, some people its does. Not me.) Awareness, gentle self-love, and just making some relatively slight dietary changes (more protein, less carb, avoid calorie-filled drinks, and healthy fats are my friend. I can't outrun or out-exercise a crap diet. Also I don't have to exercise crazy hard if I'm paying attention to what I'm eating.)
