I have been reading and wanting to comment on so many of the conversations but I've been too late ... rats.
Katla ... praying all went well and your husband is now in the nursing home where you can visit more easily!
Rebecca ... so glad you're getting your digestive system straightened out!
And my mind is now a blank. Sigh.
My mom is still in the rehab/long-term care facility near my home. We had signed the contract and it looked like we were set to move her to an enhanced assisted living apartment tomorrow, but she was not cleared for admission at yesterday's final screening. Big disappointment for her and for me too, but safety comes first. She had an off day and stumbled during a transfer. But, everyone believes that she will eventually be able to move to the assisted living apartment. She is very close to meeting the assisted living facility's criteria and just needs more therapy (which she will be getting at her current location) to get stronger and more consistent with her movements. After everyone left her room we ate fancy chocolates. LOL.
I've been visiting my mom every day and trying to keep up with the things that need done at home. Not much time left for anything else.

Morning ladies from a dull and wet UK - seems to have been raining forever! Not sure I will get the grass cut before winter sets in.
I've been thinking about Christmas, my friends have decided to forego the bran tub/secret santa this year and have a meal out together instead. This is fine with me, one less present to think about. A lot of people over here are worried about the cost of everything, I feel so sorry for the ones with young children, according to the newspapers (if you can believe them) there will be a lot of children without gifts this year.
My decluttering journey has stalled. The kitchen is the only room where everything has a place. I can't seem to get the rest of the house as organised. I've been watching a lot of decluttering videos with Dawn (Minimal Mom), Cas from Clutterbug and Dana (A slob comes clean). I need to do less watching and more doing I'm getting there slowly, I rearranged my bedroom yesterday, but not sure I like it, I'll leave it a few days to see if I can live with it.
Still catching up so hope everyone is doing okay, sorry I forgot to take notes.
Take care and love to all

Beth: I hope your Mom gets the rehab she needs to get into assisted living!
Machka9: Sad about the gene mutation you experienced. Must have been a sad time to learn about this. Great about current times and working on the office and dining room and thinking about a Christmas tree!
kJ (Kelly). Adolescent leave: Now that is a good idea!
Lisa: Interesting group of men in your family! Congrats on getting the writing done!
Karen: I purchase greeting cards from FineArtAmerica online. I wonder how that works for artists.
Lanette: I missed seeing the trust document as well. Your life took a different direction than having children. This must have been sad at the time and I am sorry about this. I only had the one. I was in my early 30's when I married and my husband wanted to save 100k before we had a child. Well that didn't happen.
Heather: I would have gone to see the Queen as well, although I don't know why I follow the royals...but I do. I always feel poorly that I looked at People magazine with pictures of Diana when I was younger. I feel I helped participate in the media's hyper-attention on her.
Evelyn..Evie1958: I hope your DH's never pain is able to heal. Must be very uncomfortable and tiring.
I love black ice coffee and sometimes drink it too late in the day. My favorite thing to do is to go to Starbucks and get an ice coffee. I have switched to getting small ice coffees to save money. They are still around 4 dollars. I try not to get anything but the ice coffee! I also have the pods and make them at home.

Morning, all...
Doctor's appointment early this morning, so I need to be out of the house in a bit less than an hour. One thing to pick up for Corey on the way back, and then back home. I'm letting him do the grocery shopping this weekend. Those trips just wear me out.
Just need to get my early morning meds taken, finish getting my meds list revised and printed, my Friday injection done, a quick shower and out the door. First cup of tea half down, will be taking the second one with me. There's a good chance they'll ask for more tests, so am skipping eating until I come back. Easier that way.
Later, y'all,
Love,

Continued adventures of the office organisation ...
Because the "office" ended up spilling out all over the dining room a few years ago, today's work was largely in the dining room.
We had moved an under drawer unit to the dining room when I started working from home at the end of March 2020 as part of the great shutdown. Now it's back in the office. I've gone through all of its drawers and half the drawers in a small desk that will stay in the dining room.
I've also shifted a few things around in the dining room and it looks better -- less crowded -- but I'm not happy with it yet. I don't feel we're using the space well. I'll have to give it more thought.
One of the things I've done in the past is to measure the area, measure the furniture, and the map it all out in PowerPoint. Then I can move things around on the screen to see how it could fit. I might need to do that again.
Tomorrow I plan to finish going through the drawers in the little desk. I'd do it now, but I'm feeling tired, and when I feel tired, I don't make good decisions.
Stage 1 of the process was to get everything into "meaningful piles" like: university, filing cabinet, craft, cycling, shred, toss, etc. That's done.
Stage 2 will be dealing with each pile. My husband is taking care of the shredding. Tossing is easy. The cycling stuff might go downstairs, for now anyway, to give me more room to work with. Then I'll likely start with the university pile. I want to shift as much of the university pile as I can into the shred pile. I'm taking great delight in having my university stuff shredded!!
I've emptied one university binder already, but this stage will take a while.
Tips:
- Take allergy pill when working with a room that hasn't been organised in a long time. So. Much. Dust!
- Any little bits of organisation you can do now in a spare few moments, you future self will thank you. I came across a set of papers I'll need to file, and somewhere along the lines, I labelled each one with the file folder it should go into. Thank you younger me!
- I work well with the stages process I described above and getting things into "meaningful piles". It means I've moved some things out of the room entirely and the rest in in one place so I can move through it and can see my progress. I'm not left thinking, "but wait, is there another bin of university stuff somewhere?" Now I can choose to spend an evening here and there working on each pile without having to figure out where I am or where I left off. Plus if other priorities move in and I don't get back to it for another year, I'll be able to thank the "right now" me for getting things in some semblance of order.

Exercise:
Lots of time on my feet walking back and forth between office and dining room.
16 minutes rowing briskly on my rowing machine.
About 15 minutes lifting weights.

Kids are here. Thoroughly enjoying themselves. Lunch went well, with dessert of ice cream, raspberries, strawberries and sprinkles.
Half way through lunch the new washing machine arrived. We had cleared a way through the garage, directly into the utility room, which made it much easier for them.
I have now put on the first load of cotton type stuff. I did read the instructions first.
Parents coming to pick them up in a few minutes.
